At what age should you get dental insurance on children?

What is the recommended age in which I should get dental insurance on a child?

I'm a dental hygienist. I very rarely see anyone ages 2 and under. I have, however, seen several 3 year olds and older. I'd say 3 is a good age to start. Most dental insurance plans will cover 2 exams and 2 cleanings per year. They will also cover 2 fluoride treatments a year, which will help prevent cavities from forming. Many insurance programs also cover sealants (to protect the teeth from forming cavities). I hope that helps!

What does the word Indemnity meen when talking about dental insurance?

i just signed up with dental insurance and they use the word indemnity when talking about which dentists i can see, but it says i can see whoever i want, but im still confused, does this meen the dentist has to except it no matter who i go to?, can someone please clear this up for me? thankyou:)

My girlfriend needs her wisdom teeth out and doesn't have dental insurance. Whats the best option?

My girlfriend needs her wisdom teeth out. The thing is, she only has health insurance and her employer doesn't offer dental. How much would removing 4 wisdom teeth normally cost? (local anesthesia) Also are there any dental plans that would help her with this and give her basic coverage without gobbling her paycheck? She lives in MD so it would have to be available there.

I had mine taken out on Wednesday. (It hurts like hell btw) For removing all 4 of my wisdom teeth it was around $900 (I think), don't have insurance, plus whatever the Vicadin costs. That is w/o insurance.

When to add baby to dental insurance?

I just gave birth to my first little one on April 4 and I have to notify my insurance company to add her to my health insurance. My question is, should I worry about adding her to dental insurance right now?? I can change my benefits again in late December (she'll be about 8 or 9 months)-can I just wait to add her until then you think? Thanks!

Wait. Most dental offices won't even see a baby until they're at least 12 months old. Since you have open enrollment long before your baby will be 12 months, so point in spending money on the premiums now!

Should I get a second dental insurance plan?

I am a college student, and currently covered under my parents' dental plan. I need to get all of my wisdom teeth extracted, and I found out that I possibly also need 3 root canals. My insurance only covers $1500 per year. I don't want to put off this work, but I don't think I can afford this. Would getting my own individual dental insurance plan help? What plans are good, and what is a decent price/yr for an individual plan?

Most individual plans will either have a waiting period of 12 months before you can get full benefits and then only pay at 50%, or will cover a smaller percentage until you've had the plan for 24 months (for example 10% the first year, 20% the second, and 40% the third). How can I get free dental insurance?

I live in the state of Texas im 23 and my wisdom teeth needed to pulled 6 years ago and could never afford it. Now I am in major pain and I work at subway(they dont offer anything insurance wise) I live on my own and just cant afford insurance. Does medicaid cover dental? Or is there is another route I can take such as going to dental school and having classmates work on me? Please help. Please

I don't have dental insurance and I will have to go for a root canal. Can somebody suggest options?

I am in Pasadena, California. Are there any doctors who give discounts? Unfortunately, due to company policies, I can enroll myself in the company provided dental insurance policy only next year .
