Wisdom teeth removal, dental or health insurance?

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for health insurance and Metlife for dental. I have one wisdom tooth thats grown in and three that haven't. I'm not sure if i have the three surgically remove, if that would be covered under my dental or health insurance. Does anyone know?
--------------------
The claim for the extractions will be sent to Met Life first.. if the wisdom teeth are what's called 'boney impactions', then the claim can be sent to BC/BS for coordination of benefits... the 'boney impactions' are covered under your medical insurance.... Best of luck~

Why is it so hard to get medical and dental services covered by insurance?

It seems like every time I need something done, a filling, a blood test, whatever, I have to jump through hoops to get things covered by insurance. I mean, if I didn't need it, the doctor would not be recommending it, right? I am so tired of being the go-between for doctors and health insurance companies. I spend days just calling back and forth, why can't they just communicate and cover the things I need? I pay $300 a month for health insurance!

The advent of managed care has been the bane of existence for patients and medical professionals alike for the past several years. Unfortunately, it's likely here to stay.

Can anyone recommend a good dental insurance company that offers orthodontic coverage? ?

I have to get braces for my daughter and would like to get a good dental plan for her so that I can get as much the cost for her braces covered as possible. I know that there are few good plans out there that cover any significant amount when it comes to braces, but there must be one or two out there that are the best for orthodontia services. HELP!!!
--------------------
I would encourage you to visit this site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up 5 years ago when I was in college for my braces and they have saved me thousands since. My braces cost me only $2200 total. From cleanings, root canals, xrays...etc. All services are included in this very affordable plan. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. Hope this helps.

Is there any kind of help for people who don't have dental plans or insurance??? or organizations?

I mean my wife hast two fractured teeth and she can't stand the pain,Every single day she crys about the painf. We don't have any money to go to like a dental clinic and we can't afford any dental insurance, somebody please help me I don't know what to do.
--------------------
you can find a dentist who is very generous and sometimes they can put you on a payment plan, if that office does that sort of thing, and you can pay them whatever a month or however you set it up, so i would recommend searching for dentist and calling them all and telling the office manager or maybe even the dentist your situation and they might be able to help you out.

Dental implants w/metlife insurance..in the NY Manhattan area or anywhere else?

Hi to all! Quick question. Would anyone happen to have any info on a dentist(s) who do implants and accepts metlife dental insurance in the NYC area? Having trouble locating one and i need a loooot of work done. all helpful answers appreciated . thanks a lot.
--------------------
Hello to you, too! :) Dental implants are not a covered expense with insurance companies, Met Life included. Log on to MetLife and you should be able to find a participating dentist in your area...this will at least help with the 'regular' work you need. Good luck~
