I just turned 18, and don't have health insurance, and I think I have two jaw abscesses and I need to get an x-ray. I just don't want to spend my whole life paying it off!
--------------------
It depends on what type of X-ray and where you live. Ours are only $20 for a pa(which is the kind they'll take if you just have a toothache to see the root of the tooth.) If they need a big panoramic film, they run about $100 depending on where you live again. Most importantly is don't put it off. If your tooth is hurting that means you have an infection. Call your dentist and tell them you have a toothache and ask how much it is for an exam and xray. Hope you feel better soon!

my employer has been taking deductions for dental insurance, but when i went to use the insurance i found it?
had been cancelled more than 9 months ago, yet they have still been collecting from me. is this fraud? what do i do? they are acting like they are just going to reinstate it and pay the backed insurance. i had rather just have my money back. any ideas??

Well, it doesn't work that way, they can't "reinstate" the policy. Legally, there are two options - either THEY pay whatever the insurance would have paid, for your treatment, OR, they can fully refund the money they've taken out. Unfortunately, in order to push the issue, you'll likely need an attorney, and if you hire one, they'll probably find a reason to fire you. On the bright side, something like this is a sign that they're goind under, and you're going to be looking for another job, anyway.

In Muskegon and don't have dental insurance?
I live in Muskegon, Michigan and I don't have dental insurance and cannot afford much (I'm a full time college student). Are there any dental facilities in Muskegon that will help low income people like me who do not have insurance? I need to have four impacted wisdom teeth removed. They are very painful. Please help.

Hello. You can apply for medical or dental assistance from your local Family Independence Agency. They should be listed in the white pages of your phone book. We are from Traverse City, and have many charity groups/churches who help individuals and families. I am sure there are similiar groups in Muskegon. Good luck! I am having my wisdom teeth removed this Friday. Wish me luck. Charlie and Michelle.

Why is dental insurance so horrible?
Everytime I go to the dentist I pay $300 dollars plus! It's rediculous, are there any secrets? other insurances? more help?

It just depends on your coverage. For my family we have this wonderful plan. I would encourage you to visit this great website: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago and they have saved me thousands of dollars on all of my dental services. From extractions to xrays, fillings, Cleanings, root canals, and even my braces. They even had my affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and Hope this helps

What travel health insurance companies are good (low deductible, includes vision and dental)?
I need good travel health insurance while living/working abroad for two years, in several countries. I would also like vision and dental coverage, but can't seem to find anything on that front. What do you use?

I have been using TravelEx for many years. You can get a free quote and compare with others at this site: http://www.travelex-insurance.com/index.

My friend found herself in a situation-she left her husband, and has four kids. they all needed to go to the dentist, and her deadbeat husband stopped supporting them. She found a clinic in a dental school, and took her kids to that--the rates are reduced, because dental students are working on you, under the supervision of a licensed teaching dentist. If that doesn't work for you, find a dentist who will accept a payment plan-but they may charge you interest. Good luck and good health!
