am i still covered under my parent health insurance?

I'll be 19 this month and I'm not going to college but I was wondering under the new obama health plan would I still be covered under my parent they did claim me as dependent on there taxes. I was wondering bc I went to my dentist and found out I wasn't under the dental plan anymore sense I had turned 18 even though I was still in school I wasn't elgiable for it anymore

That portion of the bill goes into effect when the policy renews after 9/23/10. If you don't know when the policy renews it is generally right after open enrollment. At that time you can get back on if you desire. Until then apparently you are not covered.

What dental problems can be harmful during pregnancy?

I am 23 weeks pregnant, I live in Ca, and I have medi- cal insurance, along with another insurance through my work, my work insurance Anthem blue cross doesn't pay for much for dental and I am maxed out for dental with them right now. Medi-cal on the other hand will pay for extractions, and when I went to the dentists office Saturday I was told that medi-cal will also pay for procedures that can potentially be harmful to a pregnancy. I know that my dentists want to do a deep cleaning on me, and I know that if I don't get this procedure that the bacteria built up can cause preterm labor. I am also wondering if anyone knows what other procedures would be covered and considered possibly harmful to a pregnancy. I have quite a few dental issues, so I would like to get as much as I can covered by medi-cal, other wise with the anthem insurance I have to pay mostly all of all dental procedures, and I owe so much right now that there is no way that I could possibly get any more dental work done unless it is covered by medical, for the next year or so. any condition like cavity or abscess causing severe pain can lead to premature delivery.... ...abscess will also have the potential for the infection to spread throughout your body and pose a threat to both the mother's and baby's health..... ..periodontal / gum disease can lead to premature delivery and low birth weight of the baby...

Becoming an Insurance clerk (doc's office)?

I'm not sure what the exact title would be but does anyone know what kind of schooling is involved or what kind of money the insurance people in doctor's offices make? I am torn between becoming that or a dental hygienist.. looking for good salary/quick school! What are the pro's and con's of each, anyone work as an insurance clerk (?) by chance? Thanks for any help.

If I were you I'd probably go to school to be a dental hygenist. It's more specialized training and I would think the salary would be greater than that of an insurance clerk. Some medical offices will train you on the job for insurance billing. Wages definitely vary depending upon where you are.

Dental for the unemployed!?

Ok, my teeth are not too bad, but I recently lost my job and my insurance, needles to say I cant outright pay for dental care, and I dont see any kind of assistance for dental from the government, like public aid or something,,,so does anyone know of anyway I can get dental care...obviously not for free, but just what do people do in these situations?????

some county health dept.s have a dental clinic. Other areas have free or low income clinics. Also, Missions of Mercy have a traveling volunteer dental clinic. If you qualify for medicaid, they have a dental benefit included with the medical benefits.

Why are more and more doctors, dentists, and specialists saying no to medicare patients?

At my dentist visit yesterday (actually dental emergency) one of the assistants told me they no longer accept medicare patients. I'm also hearing through the news media that other care providers want nothing to do with medicare. Will the trend of not accepting medicare continue if the democrats health reform passes? I actually have no insurance and received a 5% discount plus $100 dollars off my bill for paying cash.

Is there any dentists that do pro bono work?

I have about six broken teeth in the back due to old fillings coming out that have broken to the gumline, also I had work done on a tooth in the front by a dentist who I feel did a very poor job and is now looking discolored. I cannot afford insurance and have been denied for medi-cal. I am very scared because I don't see how I will be able to afford such dental expenses that I know my situation requires. I live in Sacramento California and any information would be appreciated.

Pet Insurance?

My lil dog's teeth need to be cleaned. I got him from the pound about 2 years ago and they did not take care of hom properly. His teeth were infected and some needed to be removed. I paid the 300+ dental fees. Once again we couldn't save his other teeth they were too far gone still. I am dreaded the 300+ dental...please help! I need some good dog insurance! Anyone know of any good companys to go with?

It's unlikely you'd find an insurance policy to cover your dog for any further dental treatment, because his poor dental health and tooth decay would be classed as a pre-existing condition. Essentially, once your dog has been diagnosed as needing attention for a particular condition, insurance won't pay out on successive treatment. Insurance is in case you ever need treatment, not for once you know you're going to need it. Best thing to do is just google some pet insurance companies or look some up in the yellow pages, call them up and ask what their policy is on pre-existing conditions and situations such as yours particularly. ASPCA, PetPlan and PetCare are all ones friends of mine have given good reports of, but no gurantees.
