Does EVERY doctor/dentist/veterinarean accept CARE CREDIT, or only certain ones? I have minimal dental insurance and am in dire need od getting a wisdom tooth pulled. Do I have to find a dentist that not only accepts my insurance, but ALSO accepts Care Credit, or do ALL dentists accept Care Credit? It' hard enough to find a dentist that accepts military coverage ={

Sorry, not all dentists accept care credit. They have to be under contract with care credit and pay a fee to accept the card and get the electronics necessary. However, many dentists do take it and you should be able to find one pretty easily. Good luck!

What does 4 quads of SC/RP mean?
My husband just had a several teeth extracted at the dentist (wisdom and a couple permanent) He unfortunantly needs alot of dental work done....the dentist said he has 9 cavities and he also needs "4 quads of SC/RP" Can someone tell me what this is. Also does anyone know how much we might expect to pay to have the rest of this work done... we don't have dental insurance so it's all out of pocket. Thank you!

The 4 quads that they are referring to means 4 quadrants, the upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right (your mouth divided into 4). SC/RP means scaling and root planing. it's a procedure that is performed to remove tartar and calculus below the gum line, his gums are inflammed and probably bleeding due to the infection and constant irritation of the tartar and calculus. i don't know where you live, but it will probably be around $300 a quad. This is a procedure that can easily be avoided with regular and proper brushing and flossing, if after the procedure he does not maintain good oral hygiene, he will have to have it done again, and again...so Brush and Floss faithfully. By the Way....your dental povider should have explained not only the procedure(s) that need to be done but also printed you out a detailed estimation of costs. If he/she has not done so, then i would definately ask alot of questions prior to having any work performed. Good Luck

I have a wisdom tooth problem...?
I have one wisdom tooth that broke due to me chewing ice, (I know, I know, and I have not done it since) and it hurts almost constantly. It is not swelling, but I can feel a big hole when I rub my tounge across the bottom of it. I cannot afford the 300-400 dollars that a dental surgeon will charge me, I do not have dental insurance, and none of the surgeons will work with me so I could pay payment. What do I do? It is starting to affect my everyday activities. Please no smart-alleck things, this is a serious problem. Thank you in advance.

I did the same thing except it wasn't ice that cracked the wisdom tooth. Actually, I chipped it a tiny bit, then bacteria and food got stuck in the chip and it ended up cracking---in half. It was fine for a while, I used antiseptic mouthwash and tried to keep it clean, but two weeks ago it started hurting. I don't have dental insurance either, but I found an oral surgery center with reasonable prices. They looked at the tooth and said it had an abscess, which is an infection. This can be really dangerous and needs to be taken care of right away. I, too, thought that I couldn't afford for the tooth to be pulled, but it was only $149.00 for both the x-ray and the tooth pull. If I were you, I would use antiseptic mouthwash to help prevent infection, invest in some anbesol for the pain, and call around to dental centers to find a dentist who will look at it and extract it at an affordable price. The place I went to is highly regarded and respected, all of my friends had their extractions done there, too. Because I was in your place just two short weeks ago, and really worried about money, I know what you're going through. I don't know where you're from, but I'm sure there are places that cater to those who don't have insurance. Also, some offices offer credit programs to pay for dental procedures. Keep looking and try to take precautions to prevent infection in that tooth. Best of luck to you!

Go get your fillings before your cavities get worse. $150 per filling is about right, depending on the size of the filling. As for your wisdoms, if they arent bothering you just keep them in.
