I will claim myself this year and was wondering how much ill get back? i made 40886.81 last year and paid a total of 3987.46 to the feds 2496.28 to SS and 583.81 to medicare. I had a 401k contribution of 817.75 and other pretax deductions of $613 for dental/aflac/vision insurance. How much will i get back this year?

First time buyers (UK) - have we remembered everything!??
My head is pickled with all the information as we're getting married in a few weeks too, but so far we've sorted (in no particular order!)... The mortgage, including buildings insurance and life insurance. TV Licence. Cable company for TV/Broadband/Phone. Utilities suppliers. Changed our addresses with most places like bank, DVLA, work, health/dental insurance etc... Registered for Council Tax (whoopidoo!) I think that's pretty much it, but can anyone think of anything I might have missed?

Dental. what could I do?
I just went to a new dentist after six months. I had my teeth cleaned at my previous dentist and six months before that. Now the new dentist is saying I need a laundry list of things to be done. Expensive and things not totally covered by my insurance. My question is, other than getting a second opinion in which the new dentist may say is his opinion any way, what else can I do to make sure I am getting a correct and honest diagnosis?

Other than a second opinion, there's nothing much more that you can get a different diagnosis. If cost is a concern consult with your insurance. I used to have dental insurance, but canceled when I signed for this discount program. It gave me almost 50% to 80% off regular dental stuff which is about what I would pay even if I had insurance.. but I don't have to pay the $50 a month for the insurance. It's 20 bucks, and it gives me dental coverage, vision, prescription and chiropractic. And it's 20 bucks for anyone living in my house. My roommate (who is not related to me) gets the same discount on her stuff. If you sign up today, you can go the Dr. tomorrow, no limits, no deductible. you just pay whatever your discount is. I Want to Smile Again!?
I am only 20 years old and I am very, very concerned about my teeth. My teeth are very hard to take care of in the first place, but I had a bad accident a few years ago in gymnastics and chipped a lot of my teeth, which have now turned to cavities or bigger gaps. I brush my teeth and floss and use the mouth wash that has been recommended to me by a former dentist. My job does not offer dental insurance, where can I get good dental insurance or find a decently priced dentist to help me with my problem? I've been told the work will cost close to $7,000.00 Please help, I want to be able to smile again!

I would really recommend that you find a dental school in your area. You can get some really great work done there because even though a student is working on you, an instructor is checking their work all the time! You will have to be prepared to spend an entire morning or afternoon there because there is a lot of waiting but can be worth it because the work is so much less expensive.

why cant the Sopranos cast afford medical care?
there are fund raisers for 2 of them with serious conditions and a 3rd had to take out a $6000 loan to pay for dental care...actors get insurance from the screen actors guild--and as much as they must of earned--why can't they pay for what insurance doesn't cover?

A friend (in san diego) says she can't afford a root canal..where can she get one free to cheap?
She has no insurance and would prefer not to sign up for dental membership plan.

as far as I know root canal's are very expensive and i don't think think that there are any places that will do them for free or even cheaply. I could be wrong because I'm not from California but a suggestion is to go to your local Department of Human Services and ask for information on available low cost dental services in your area.

Toothache...dentist says just sensitive tooth...nothing he can do?
but just use the sensitive toothpaste...he says there is no cavity. But I am suspicious because I do not have dental insurance this time. Do you think he is he turning me away because of no dental insurance? Is he lying to me?
