How much does a dental flipper cost? I am in Oklahoma.?

Just lost a front tooth. Just have medicare, no other insurance.
--------------------
Medicare does not cover this type of dental procedure. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan some will have some limited dental and may have some coverage. Otherwise, it would depend upon where you get the flipper. You need to ask your dentist and also you should call other dentist in your area. You can also try a dental school which would have good service for much less money. There is a dental school at the University of Oklahoma and you can find their link here: http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Den…

low income dental work?

In need of major dental work with no income or insurance. I have 3 teeth that are infected. im afraid of getting blood poisioning and am in severe pain everyday. would appreciate it if i could get an answer.
--------------------
you could try anbesol or clove oil on them for the pain. A pharmacist told me you can take tylenol with aspirin at the same time. (but not aspirin with motrin or naprosyn) I know when mine hurt, i got so desperate that I was looking at antique tooth pullers on ebay and found one made of buffalo horn..didn't buy sometimes your dentist will help you if you have a regular dentist, and there are dental clinics at universities, which are cheaper, but still cost.. my cousin, she pulled her teeth with a pliers once, she was desperate...I don't have that kind of nerve..I know 1/3 of what you are going thru...OMG...

Assurant health insurance or Humana One?

Which do you think is better? I'm looking into high deductible insurance..And can't decide between the 2..And what about dental? How is basic dental compared to discpunt dental if I know I am going to need some work done (i.e. cavities and wisdom teeth are all grown in-i want them out)...Any input would be appreciated.
--------------------
Speaking as an agent, I prefer Assurant. They offer several networks to choose from so that you can find one that is most appropriate for you. Their dental plan is strong as well - certainly much better than any discount plan available. That being said - United Healthcare is also offering very affordable high deduc plans in several states. You can view quotes here: http://www.ohioinsureplan.com/index.php/…

Assistance with orthodontics for child with cleft palate?

My son is 14 and we are having a hard time finding help getting braces for him. They are expensive and I can't travel far to get them as I have three younger kids at home. We used to use the Shriners but it got too difficult for me to go out of state. We're in Missouri and it's impossible to find an orthodontist that takes medicaid. My husband makes too much to qualify for assistance (there's a program that pays for care and medicaid pays them back) but with a family of 6 and bills, we don't have the money to pay cash. I'd like to know of a dental insurance company or something we could look into. He really needs this done for bone grafting.
--------------------
talk to the people at cardinal glennon... they have great people in st. louis i have a cleft lip too and thats how we found out about all of that stuff!!

I have a bad case of Periodontal Gum Disease and is starting to cause problems with my health. I am in Oklahom

I have Medicare and Medicaid. I am Disabled and have no Dental insurance. I really cant afford insurance because I am on a tight budget anyway. Please someone out ther give me some advice. I cant even talk to my friends because of how bad my teeth are looking. And I have bad pains in my mouth all the time.
--------------------
Due to nutrition, age, and certain medications our body can be depleted of Coenzyme Q10 which is essential in helping to prevent gum disease among other conditions. The all-natural supplement I use is CoQHeart. Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.

Could I get a discount on dental work since there are so many people out of work?

I was the son of a single mom. Me and my other brothers never had any type of dental or health insurance. Needless to say I want a smile makeover. I want the cavaties gone and my teetk straight and white like a movie star. How much could I get this done for 20-25k? I'll be taking some equity out on my home to do this, I don't care. Three people I grew up with haveb died this weekend, so why should I continue to save. I'll still only owe 80k on a house that's worth 200K. I'm tired of being so conservative. I'm 38, I still have 100K in a 401K, plus I'll be the heir to my brothers money when he passes.
--------------------
Medical Discount Plan ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services. Individual & Family Health Plans This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose. Short Term Medical Plans This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months. Common situation you met like many other people,be patient, and check the resource here    www.HealthInsuranceFree.info    i found very useful for me to solve my similiar problem.

question on changing health insurance policy?

hi i have a insurance from my empoyer, that doesnt cover dental and vision,as i didnt opt for it.. am getting married in couple of months.. and want to change my insurance to a family insurance, so that it covers both me and my wife.. please let me know, what are the things to consider while changes the policy from single to family, how to get a best rate, and how to have good coverage.....
--------------------
First of all...all you have to do is add her to your employer group policy as a dependant. No problem there. But if you want to get you own family policy, you have to becareful with "Pre-Existing" condition. You want to make sure that the policy you switch to doesnt decline any condition you may be experiencing at that time. If both of you are on no medications, then that should not be a problem As far as good coverage, ask for the most comprhensive coverage. It cost more but you will be covered properly especially if you start a family. See how much it would cost to add her on to your group policy Then call an agent to see how much a policy on your own would be. Sometimes it is cheaper on your own because if the group you are in is unhealthy and the group is rated high, then you would be paying a large premium for their claim activities Congrats on the marriage!

Anyone know average cost of braces for southern Texas area? My insurance will not cover anything.?

The orthodontist at Castle Dental quoted $4200. Is this average? I thought they would be less. He said there was not any real major problems for my teeth and that i'd be wearing them for about a 18 months. Does the cost sound about right, because someone else said they quoted her around $2000.
--------------------
i usually see the price of 3900 so 4200 isnt that bad ive never seen anybody offer braces for as little as 2000 (unless she went across the border and went to mexico)

Should home owners pay more tax so welfare mothers can be given a car, insurance and college for children?

Free rent, utilities, food, medical and dental are good but single moms on welfare also need a car, insurance and college money for their children. Also money for a cell phone and cable TV would help much.
--------------------
Now, why should we stop there? Let's give them a spending allowance for names brand clothing and shoes, money for regular recreation such as clubing, movies, pot... And I really think that we should get them a membership to a country club or something - that way, maybe they can meet some poor sucker who marry them and support them. Why not? Edit: Amen, Common Sense! I also work in a hospital billing department. At a recent meeting, we learned that we are getting a return of 23 cents on the dollar (cost - not profit). And, yes, it's these families who keep popping out more and more babies who are killing us. It's easier for these people to live off the government than earn an honest living and be responsible. And I agree - welfare needs a major reform made & fast! I agree with your ideas.

Can you answer this insurance question?

I have dental coverage but no adult orthodontic coverage. I need braces and am hoping that my husband's employer will add this for us. Has anyone ever done this? If so, did you have to pay anything for the additional coverage? Was there a waiting period? Any other info is appreciated. Thanks!
--------------------
The employer can't add it just for you, he's got to pay for it for EVERYONE. Also, even WITH orthodontic coverage, typically, the COVERAGE is, 50%, up to $1500 or $2,000. For my family, that left us with $3,000 out of pocket to pay - and the orthodontist wanted the 50% part - from us - up front. So no, there's usually NOT a waiting period with group insurance. But you're NOT going to get "free" braces out of it, either.

Medical bills with no insurance?

I went to the emergency room after having pain in my side for a week a few months ago. They did standard tests, including CAT scan, and they said they didn't find anything serious. A week later I received a bill for over 5 thousand dollars. I sent them what they requested for a payment plan (bank statements, etc). I am willing to repay this debt but the problem is I have no medical insurance and I am a full time graduate student. I plan to graduate in june of 08 and hope to get a job soon afterwards. I am living off of a student loan but any money I have left over every month I would like to save for an emergency (car repairs, dental bills, etc) that may come up. My question is, do you think the hospital would allow me a moratorium (suspension of payments) until I graduate and secure a job (which would be in june of 08)? I am just afraid that if I can't pay them now they will sue me or take me to court.
--------------------
They will not take you to court. Usually they'll keep a copy of what you owe on file, just in case. Ignore the letters they'll send to your house for the next 2 or 3 months. Worst thing a hospital can do is annoy you. They can not even legally give you a bad credit rating.

anyone have virginia premier insurance? Im 21 and lookin for a dentist that would take this insurance?

I was told that only my insurance would cover surgery if dental work is needed. I need to find a dentist first for checkups before i do this. Plz help in the state of virginia please. (tidewater area 757)
--------------------
You can search for providers at: http://www.virginiapremier.com/home/sear… It does not look like they provide dental insurance, so you would most likely need to pay for a dentist on your own and get a referral for surgery. There are orthodontic surgeons listed, you could start there.

Most of the time, no, unless your employer has a "domestic partner" policy. Most employers DO NOT.

I have health insurance through work. How would socialized healthcare benefit me?

Health = free, $20 copay Dental = 12 monthly Vision = 7 monthly It's a state job. Wouldn't I end up paying more than this in taxes?
--------------------
Carewise you would probably not notice any difference. The cost of your insurance may go down. If your employer pays all of it you are very rare and fortunate indeed. Your copay shouldn't go down. I believe in AFFORDABLE health care and not the stereotypical ideas of universal healthcare.

Is there a maximum total amount that can be deducted pretax from a paycheck?

Considering a 401k max of $15,000, FSA of $4,000 (my company limits), and deductions for medical, dental, and life insurance benefits, is there a maximum amount of *total* pretax deductions?
--------------------
100% is the most you can deduct and that is after the regular things like FICA

will a dentist office accept credit card payment?

I have a filling that fell out (painfull). I don't have the cash to pay for it. My dental insurance is not effective until May 1st ( I can't wait this long, it hurts). Will the dentist accept credit card payment???
--------------------
you should call the office and ask. some doctors only take cash or check. you may be able to get them to send you a bill. but depending on where you are (private office, hospital type of setup, etc) the options will be different.
