I have a question about what I should do with my current situation?

Hello, I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment. its a decent size for me and my husband. And the plus side is he works here as maintance w/ his father so our rent is only 320 a month and he's worked here for 3 years. So we're hoping eventualyl its going to be free. I am going to start babysitting for 600 a month (undertable) and we're not sure if we should move into a rent to own house or if we should stay here and just fix up the apartment. We have so much junk and live up on the 3rd floor which is rough. My husband only makes 300 week w/ no health benifits, so with my job we have to pay like 300 a month for great health insurance. Now the main thing, once we get everything paid off and all dental work done ect.. once I start my job we want to start a family at the end of the year. Is stayin in the apartment a good idea? Or taking a risk getting a place, and my job not lasting. I dont know what to do.. There is so much work that needs 2 be done here. Give me your advice. Thankx

As a loan officer in the sub-prime market now for 4 years I would say stay in your current situation and save save save. Most people don't realize the extra costs that houses entail. From property taxes to hazard insurance, they can be a strain on the wallet. Just make sure that in your process of saving and looking for homes (when you do decide to shop) that you keep your credit in tip top shape. Two or three late pays can affect a rate. For the time being I would stay with the $320 apartment until you can get enough money saved or a higher salary at which point you know you will be able to afford the total costs of being a home owner.

Why is our water fluoridated? If the mechanism of its benefits are topical not systemic why are we drinking it?

http://www.fluoridealert.org/50-reasons.... This isn't a conspiracy theory, read all of the 50 reasons before answering the question please and then formulate an opinion based upon those facts or those that you can find supporting fluoridation. But don't respond with insults, that just makes you small minded. This is an actual issue, when a known carcinogenic mutagen is in public water it is a safety hazard and shouldn't be tolerated. Educate yourselves. Excerpts from the article, facts you didn't know: Aluminum fluoride was recently nominated by the Environmental Protection Agency and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences for testing by the National Toxicology Program. According to EPA and NIEHS, aluminum fluoride currently has a "high health research priority" due to its "known neurotoxicity" (BNA, 2000). If fluoride is added to water which contains aluminum, than aluminum fluoride complexes will form. Fluoride has been shown to be mutagenic, cause chromosome damage and interfere with the enzymes involved with DNA repair in a variety of cell and tissue studies (Tsutsui 1984; Caspary 1987; Kishi 1993 and Mihashi 1996). Recent studies have also found a correlation between fluoride exposure and chromosome damage in humans (Sheth 1994; Wu 1995; Meng 1997 and Joseph 2000). Fluoride administered to animals at high doses wreaks havoc on the male reproductive system - it damages sperm and increases the rate of infertility in a number of different species (Kour 1980; Chinoy 1989; Chinoy 1991; Susheela 1991; Chinoy 1994; Kumar 1994; Narayana 1994a, b; Zhao 1995; Elbetieha 2000; Ghosh 2002 and Zakrzewska 2002). While studies conducted at the FDA have failed to find reproductive effects in rats (Sprando 1996, 1997, 1998), an epidemiological study from the US has found increased rates of infertility among couples living in areas with 3 or more ppm fluoride in the water (Freni 1994), and 2 studies have found a reduced level of circulating testosterone in males living in high fluoride areas (Susheela 1996 and Barot 1998). ) Once fluoride is put in the water it is impossible to control the dose each individual receives. This is because 1) some people (e.g. manual laborers, athletes, diabetics, and people with kidney disease) drink more water than others, and 2) we receive fluoride from sources other than the water supply. Other sources of fluoride include food and beverages processed with fluoridated water (Kiritsy 1996 and Heilman 1999), fluoridated dental products (Bentley 1999 and Levy 1999), mechanically deboned meat (Fein 2001), teas (Levy 1999), and pesticide residues on food (Stannard 1991 and Burgstahler 1997). Fluoridation is unethical because individuals are not being asked for their informed consent prior to medication. This is standard practice for all medication, and one of the key reasons why most of western Europe has ruled against fluoridation (see appendix 2). As one doctor aptly stated, "No physician in his right senses would prescribe for a person he has never met, whose medical history he does not know, a substance which is intended to create bodily change, with the advice: 'Take as much as you like, but you will take it for the rest of your life because some children suffer from tooth decay.' It is a preposterous notion." Since dental decay is most concentrated in poor communities, we should be spending our efforts trying to increase the access to dental care for poor families. The real "Oral Health Crisis" that exists today in the United States, is not a lack of fluoride but poverty and lack of dental insurance. The Surgeon General has estimated that 80% of dentists in the US do not treat children on Medicaid. Despite the fact that we are exposed to far more fluoride today than we were in 1945 (when fluoridation began), the "optimal" fluoridation level is still 1 part per million, the same level deemed optimal in 1945! (Marier & Rose 1977; Levy 1999; Rozier 1999 and Fomon 2000). The chemicals used to fluoridate water in the US are not pharmaceutical grade. Instead, they come from the wet scrubbing systems of the superphosphate fertilizer industry. These chemicals (90% of which are sodium fluorosilicate and fluorosilicic acid), are classified hazardous wastes contaminated with various impurities. Recent testing by the National Sanitation Foundation suggest that the levels of arsenic in these chemicals are relatively high (up to 1.6 ppb after dilution into public water) and of potential concern (NSF 2000 and Wang 2000). These hazardous wastes have not been tested comprehensively. The chemical usually tested in animal studies is pharmaceutical grade sodium fluoride, not industrial grade fluorosilicic acid. The assumption being made is that by the time this waste product has been diluted, all the fluorosilicic acid will have been converted into free fluoride ion, and the other toxics and radioactive isotopes will be so dilute that they will
--------------------
Your information is good and the only problem is that there is much more information that further indicates people supporting fluoridation are ignorant and are only following some form of INDOCTRINATION by other ignorant people. The National Kidney Foundation has issued a statement AGAINST FLUORIDATION because of the damage it does to kidneys and especially anyone with weak or damaged kidneys. The practice is complete stupidity and must be stopped. The documents and research that is always sited in support of fluoridation is flawed greatly and simply BAD SCIENCE. good luck

Should getting your teeth cleaned be an unpleasant experience?

Recently I purchased health and dental insurance and began going to the dentist for regular visits for the first time in thirty years. I just got back from the dentist and getting my teeth cleaned was unpleasant. The dental hygenist didn't make any effort to explain what she was doing, didn't say anything to me at all except "Turn this way, please." She inserted this morotized dental pick into my mouth (WTF? We didn't have anything like that when I was kid). I kept expecting her to hit a nerve and I tensed up and got ready to slap it out of her hand. After a while she switched to the manual pick and attacked my mouth like she was personally angry, either at me or at the dental plaque, I wasn't sure which. Afterwards there was substantial gum bleeding and my whole mouth felt sore.
--------------------
Some hygienists are more aggressive than others, that's for sure... The 'motorized pick' is called a Cavitron, or ultrasonic scaler... it's more effective (and faster) than doing the 'scraping' manually.... Her 'bedside' manner needs to improve... patients, like yourself, won't want to be seen by her, so she may lose business for the dentist... and eventually get fired. You can certainly request a different hygienist the next time you go in for your checkup. If there isn't one available, voice your concerns to the dentist when he does your exam. I'm sure you aren't the only person who feels this way, so maybe the problem will be addressed and she'll have better 'manners'. If you bleed that much at 6 month checkups, why not go every 3 or 4 months for cleanings until your oral health improves? Arm & Hammer is a brand of toothpaste, like Crest and Colgate... it can't hurt. Best of luck to you!

Please help me!!! Do dentists usually provide a pre-certification?

I went to a dentist for the first time in the U.S. I got a dental insurance from my school (I got benefits by being a grad assistant for this spring semester) and I visited 3 times in May. I applied for the insurance in early spring but I waited to schedule an appointment until May because a lady at my school who takes care of insurance told me that there is 3-month waiting period and I can schedule an appointment anytime between May 1st and June 31. Now I'm in a big trouble because my insurance company said it actually effective on June 1st, not May 1st. I talked to the lady at my school and she said it is not her fault but the dentist fault because they didn't give me a pre-certification before even I made an appointment. Today I went to talk to the dentist and the receptionist told me that they usually don't provide a pre-certification for fillings unless the patient requested. We don't have a system like providing a pre-certification in my country Japan, and I didn't even know its existence. I don't know how to say something strong to protect myself in English. I don't know who's fault. I am just so afraid that I will end up paying more than $2,000 all by myself and I cannot afford it. Do dentists need to provide a pre-certification for a patient no matter what? Is there a rule or law like that? I cannot prove that the lady at my school said my insurance was effective on May 1st, although I wrote the date down right in front of her. In this kind of situation, what would you or people usually do in the U.S.? I need your opinions. Thank you.
--------------------
Dentists never do a pre authorization for the first appointment to do an exam and x-rays. They may, as a courtesy for the patient, file a pre authorization, once a treatment plan is made and a cost estimate is had. But they are not required by law to even do this. So your lady is 100% wrong when she told you that the should have filed a pre authorization before they even saw you for an exam, x-rays, medical and dental history, and the paper work to find out about your personal and insurance information.

Does Flight Attendants Make Good money?

Do they/ I've been thinking alot about becoming a flight attendant. I love to travel to different places, even countries. I'm not afraid of getting on a plane. And is there any kind of education that involves traveling and being a flight attendant? I want to be a flight attendant...but I'm also hoping that being a flight attendant will help pay for my college, get a car and insurance and my own place. I'm 22 years old....I need medical insurance, dental insurance, health insurance and car insurance. I know those things are very important. I either want to become a flight attendant or a major in Culinary Arts.
--------------------
Hello MS C, I have dated two air hostess's and for the most part, they have a busy life. I am not sure how you would go about being a flight attendant in the USA, but know in England it was not that difficult. Things have changed a lot in the travel industry and many companies have had major staff reductions, due to the high cost of gas and a recession. Probably the best advice I could give you, is to go to your local airport, have a chat with people on the check in gates, ask around, and you will probably get your answers fairly easily without too much research or ground work. Although jobs should be for equal rights, I know for a fact, most operators in England, prefer someone who is single, has good communication skills, is of smart appearance and a nice looking person. I realize this sounds stupid, but how many ugly flight attendants do you see working? The women I dated did long haul flights, they would travel to Asia, and America, stay for maybe one or two days then return. Although the job sounds appealing, living out of a suitcase does have it's draws backs, and the job can also ruin your social life. The job pays an average type of wage, but they do get a few perks like free flights, cheap accommodation, and get to see parts of the world for free. Gatwick and Heathrow airports are the main hub in England. Generally, the flight attendants would rent a house close to the airport with other crew members. I hope this information shall be of benefit to you, and good luck . Paul M P.S. If you ever want a serious relationship, do not date a flight attendant, unless you wish to spend many days apart, sometimes two weeks or more at a time on the long haul flights LOL

What is the best course of action in this situation.?

My friend was on a boat last week and they were all drinking, although my friend wasn't drunk. The owners of the boat (husband and wife) got into an argument and the woman pulled the throttle. The boat suddenly sped off throwing my friend to the ground. She busted her lips, fractured her arms, and three of her front teeth. She is really in a mess. She has medical insurance but no dental insurance. She contacted the owner of the boat to see if she has any insurance on the boat so that she could perhaps make a claim on that insurance. The wife (who was angry that the husband was checking out one of the girls on the boat) told my friend to go to H E double hockey sticks. (1) If this had happened to you, what would you do? (2) What is the best course of action in this case? My friend has the name of the owners of the boat, but doesn't know anything about their insurance company. (3) Does my friend have any recourse? Thanks a bunch!
--------------------
Call a lawyer in your town. I don't know where you live, but it's pretty much against the law everywhere to operate a boat while drinking. The wife could be accused of (intentional) battery, negligence, etc., though I think negligence would be a better way to go. *If* they have insurance on the boat, the policy should cover your friend's injury. If not, your friend could go after the owners directly. (Again, I don't know, but I imagine there's some law about boat insurance where you live.) But, the main thing is, hire a lawyer. Your friend probably won't have to pay him unless she gets money for her injuries. I can guarantee you the insurance company will have a lawyer, and the owners of the boat will have one if your friend tries to get money. And those lawyers will try to screw over your friend by either constantly delaying or trying to give her far less money than she deserves. Lawyers know how to deal with that stuff, and will also know what to do to help prove your case and prove you were injured because of what the wife did. Good luck!

How much would my Canadian paycheck be after deductions?

I am currently living in the USA. I am married with three children (8, 9 and 15 years old). I am the only one earning income. My annual gross income is 54,894.11, that's a gross of 2111.31 every two weeks which comes to 1615.21 every two weeks after all deductions... http://www.sprocketsystems.com/YahooAnswers/images%5CPayStub.jpg So you can see I have the base salary every two weeks minus Medical Insurance (112.00), Dental Insurance (28.34), Vision Insurance (7.96), FICA which is Social Security (121.71), Medicare which is medical insurance for people 65 years old and older (28.47), Federal Income Tax (102.62), Georgia (state) Income Tax (82.32) and then there is Life Insurance which is money for my family if I die (12.68). So in Vancouver BC, if my gross income were $85,000 per year, being a gross bi-weekly check of $3269.23, how would my paycheck most likely look after deductions?

How do I got about getting a refund from my dentist?

I hadn't gone to a dentist in 8 years, but I got dental insurance from hubbies work, and decided to go. Also I was feeling some pressure from what I assumed was a cavity in a molar. The dentist I went to was terrible. A true horror story. I was there until 3am the first day getting 5 tiny cavities filled, one large molar cavity, and one crown sized. This is only about 1/3 of the work he said I needed done, and when I consented to this he only said "what about the rest of it"? He was terrible, unprofessional, just overall horrible. I went 2 weeks later to get the crown put in. What else could I do but go? I had already paid $1000 out of pocket and insurance had paid another $1500. Putting the crown on took 4 hours, and at one point he had to remove it after it was cemented. After they tried to just sandpaper it down, but sawing back and forth between 2 teeth. I switched my insurance to a "real" dentist, who said I need a new crown, since the one I have will lead to serious gum problems which will result in tooth loss, and 3 of the fillings I had done have fallen out resulting in exposed dentin. I need a crown over one the premolars now because of the way he filled it. I am in constant pain. The work was done 2 months ago and I need the money back from the first dentist to pay the second dentist to fix the problems. The teeth he worked on are no longer insured, since according to the insurance company they are now fixed and won't need anything more done for 5 years. My new dentist feels I need to at least get the money back for the crown the other dentist did, because the fit is so bad. It really is terrible, and it hurts all the time. Food gets stuck under the crown, and between the teeth, and it is really hard to get out. So do I get a lawyer to send the old dentist a letter, stop by his office, or call him on the phone to get my money back? Do I ask him to give me the money paid by the insurance company or ask him to refund that money to them? How do I got about asking for my money back? My old dentist is like a used car salesman. I cannot trust him to be professional at all. I didn't know this when I first went to see him of course. I assumed he would be a diamond in the rough or something. I never thought dentists could be this bad.

Law Suit???

My parents are divorced. By law, my father is supposed to pay child support, have medical and dental insurance, and pay half of any medical bills that is left over after insurance has paid. I am in college, and had a major car wreck this past summer. Because I live in another state than he does, the insurance company sent him a check for payment (the hospital I was sent to was out of the insurance's network) He has pocketed every dime of that money. Totaling in nearly $10,000.00!!! I m stuck paying the bill.s and am a struggling student. I eat Ramen like it's going out of style!!! I can't afford Starbuck's or Wendy's!!! Can I and/or the insurance sue for fraud/ stealing because he cashed those checks and kept the money?? He has also pocketed money on a claim of my younger brother, my brother is in high school and is a minor. Should I contact a lawyer?? I haven't ever gotten a thing from this man, not even a birthday card, and I pay for my college myself.

Yes, you should get legal advice. Here's a link to an article called "How to Get Legal Help When You Can't Afford It" http://www.courtreference.com/court-refe… also, usually medical bills do not mess up a person's credit as bad as other types of unpaid debts. Check out the link below for online resources organized by state. In the future, you might want to try taking a copy of the court order with you to the doctor's office and make sure that he is named as the person to send the bill to. The link below also has information about courts in every state that can help you get a copy of the order from the court if you do not have a copy.

I need to find a way to get braces...?

I am 17 and I have really bad teeth. I have 2 raised canines and my mouth is too small for all of my teeth. I am pretty sure I also still have a baby tooth or something. We have both dental insurance and ortho. insurance but still my parents will not even make an appointment for me to go to the regular dentist let alone the ortho. Basically my parents are saying I am going to have to pay for my braces myself, which I think is complete crap because I doubt I am going to have insurance and I doubt that I am going to be able to afford braces without insurance. I don't understand why do my parents even pay for insurance if we are not going to use it?? I don't get it. I would like to my treatment started soon. I do not know how to approach my dad about it though. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
--------------------
If I we're you, you should start earning your own money now! I mean why let your parents shoulder all the expenses. when I am a High school student (I now graduated and self employed), I tell to myself that someday I am going to get my teeth fixed! no matter what the cost. you know the saying.. "if there's a will, there's a way.."

I have bad teeth; is it too late to do something about it?

I have bad teeth, as a result of poor personal dental care and a lack of dental insurance. I live in an area where I must pay cash up-front or have insurance to see a dentist, neither of which I can afford. I have a few cavities, and 2 teeth that have broken (one of which I was told at my only visit to the dentist here needs a root canal, but he won't do it due to lack of insurance). They are discolored, and I'm tired of having bad teeth. I realize that I should have been taking better care of them all along, but at this point, what are my options at home to prevent further problems?
--------------------
if your old enough, i think you should get a job and try to pay for it yourself, if your family won't help you. Try to brush your teeth and floss becasue thats the most important thing if you can't afford a dentist and also don't eat so much sugarry stufff. If you have that bad of teeth i really recommend you trying to do something about it becasue it might effect your whole mouth and turn into something relaly serious like your teeth may start falling out and you can have gum disease and thats really bad. Just try and find a way to go to a dentist, it may not be too late.

Confused about the whole "American immigration bias" crap? Maybe this will help...long,but worth reading?

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California. Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted. Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table". Ready? Now pay attention... Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00. Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00. Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00. Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00. Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00. Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00. Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc. Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month. Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work. Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family. Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home. Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay. Do you get it now? This is simplified, but real.

I'll tell you what... let them stand in the emergency room with their kid coughing, hacking and burning up with 104 fever while a family of 10 that is illegal gets preferential treatment and people bending over backwards to interpret their medicare info. I was politically correct LONG before the phrase was even coined. But enough is enough. And anyone that doesn't believe that illegals get ALL of our benefits + 10 is seriously naive.

Jose Illegal pays $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch.. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home. Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay. Do you get it, now? If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens...You are part of the problem! It's way PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans!
--------------------
Do you agree that illegals should live here? NO! If they want to live here and become an American citizen then get in line and do it LEGALLY! It's way PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans! I totally agree with this and all of the above. But you see, Mexicans are nonwhite, so because of this we as Americans can't say anything or do anything about illegal immigration or we will be branded racist. This accusation of racism will continue to hold this nation hostage as it does Europe.

Im in agony because of my tooth...?

i had a wisdom tooth taken out about 2 years ago. a few days after it was removed i woke up and 2 teeth over from the removed tooth one of my molar was cracked about 40%. the crack or gap is down to the gum line on the inside side of my teeth. when this happened i had dental insurance so i saw a different dentist who filled it with a long lasting temporary filling "cream" that hardened within a few hours. it is now 2 years later and that filling "cream" has now dissolved and i've been filling it on my own with Dentemp temporary filling. I have done this 3 times now because it only last about 2-3 months. in the past week it's been hurting A LOT so i figured it's time to refill it. i noticed that the old filling the dentist put it was now 100% gone and i can see black at the bottom of the tooth. i refilled it and i am still in agony. tooth pain is the worst. i dont have any insurance and am just starting a new job tonight. what are my options? should i go to the E.R? should i find a free dental clinic? or low cost dental clinic? i live in wisconsin so my options are limited. I'm a 21 year old male. thanks

Try the free clinic, but yo umay not be helped out quick enough, try a private dr

Extraction of wisdom teeth, what do you think?

Three of my wisdom teeth have grown in properly, however one has not and I'm trying to get all four of them removed to get it done and over with and to relieve me of any further complications down the line. I have dental insurance and all four extractionS are free, however considering one of me teeth is impacted the (only) dental surgeon at my dentist requires that I be put to sleep for this process, under general anetisia which costs $475 dollars, the extractions are free, but not the anestia that HE OH SO REQUIRES. My mom DOES NOT want me to go under because she just not trust this place, considering I have one broken tooth due to them filling it with too much emalgum and may need to a root canal and crown because of it also one of my fillings cracked. My mother is very displeased with their service and we're going to switch dental places. BUT, DO YOU THINK THEY'RE JUST OUT TO GET MONEY? DO YOU THINK THAT IT ISN'T NECESSARY TO GO UNDER IF THERE'S ONLY ONE WISDOM TOOTH THAT IS IMPACTED? We don't have $475 for this procedure, but do you think this sounds CORRECT? Like the proper thing, I truly think they're just out to get money, which most places are, but I found this frustrating. And during my consultation, the oral surgeon who is only there on Monday's and Friday's was very touchy feely. And the guy who helps and checks your insurance plan at the front desk didn't want to tell us that if the doctor gave me just regular anestisia like the shot in the gum that it too WOULD BE FREE. He didn't want to say it, but he did, after my mom asked him a 2nd time. What do you think?

I suggest going back to another oral surgeon.

Haven't been to the dentist in over 10 yrs and am scared to go at this point?

When I was younger I went to the densit regularly and had braces for 3 years. Since I've been an adult and off my parent's insurance, I've never had a job with dental insurance. Just this week my husband has received dental insurance, but I have developed an anxiety about going. I know that I will need cavities filled, a root canal and crown and possibly more. My teeth aren't horrible, but I have issues with a few, including one molar that has broken apart. I have gum issues as well. I'm basically embarrassed and ashamed about my teeth. I'm afraid they will judge me as some white trash hillbilly from Appalachia. I get pap smears and eye exams yearly and regular check ups with my MD, I just have neglected my teeth. Anyone have a similar experience or any encouraging words me? Thanks.

I work in a dental office and we see people like you all the time. So worry you are not alone. We understand that it is not cheap and that it takes a great sacrifice to come to the dentist. Please go to the dentist before it gets worse. You do not want to end up in dentures or more pain. Sometimes infection can flair up and ruin your whole week! As far as the money goes try care credit and you need to have a consult with your doctor before anything. Your doctor should take x rays and then give you what we call a treatment plan. Here they list everything that needs to be done and the possible treatments. There usually are more than one options! Wisdom teeth should not cost more that 1500 dollars. It is sad that you live so far from a dentist but you need a good dentist that you like. It will be worth a longer drive. They are your teeth and you are going to have them the rest of your life! A few hours will be worth the difference. I hope you can find a dental treatment that will work! :) don't worry they have seen worse teeth than yours and the only reason they remember you when you come in is because they take notes and read them before you get there. They will not judge you. good luck

How do I tell my family I don't want presents for Christmas, but something a lot different?

I'm 21. I don't want an Ipod or a coat or a camera... I want them to help me go to the dentist.I havent been in 2 or 3 years. Being a student I never have enough money, and I don't have dental insurance. I can't afford it. Since my dad was unemployed for the past 2 years, I have paid for my own student health insurance out of my savings for 2 years straight that does not include dental. (I sure am glad I had that money. The only thing is that I thought when I was keeping my money rather than spending it on trips and stuff with my friends like my sister and most other teenagers, I thought the money would go toward school and good things. So far its been health insurance, car repairs, and my yearly eye exam and contact supply since my parents have had no money for ages). Now they have a little money since my dad got his job back, but everyone, including my extending family, seems to think I want gifts and they won't hear of anything else. I want to go to the dentist and get a cleaning. I also have impacted wisdom teeth that cause me pain from time to time. Help.... :(

Either ask them for the receipts of everything they plan to get you, or just ask for cash. Either way, look for your local dentistry school - they often offer discounted dental work if you're okay with having a student do it.

What is Your Opinion On The Following? If you work, it affects you.?

I am not part of the problem. Guess when I say I'm just working to pay bills I should be including others bills as well. SUBJECT - LEGAL VS ILLEGAL. We have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00. Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00. Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00. I need help with cavity questions!?

Im absolutely petrified of the dentist so its been about 3 years since I've been. Growing up, I always had a mouth full of cavities whenever I went because they said I was born with some kind of bacteria that gives me a ton of cavities. So once again, I have a ton of cavities in my teeth. Anyways, Im ready to face my fears and go get them taken care of but Im worried about the cost. Im not even sure if I have dental insurance. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield health coverage but does that include dental?? Im always so embarassed about going to the dentist because of the amount of cavities I have but I'm hoping to find a dentist that relaxes me enough and makes it painless so I'll want to go every 6 months to get my teeth cleaned so they can stay healthy. Any idea if BC/BS covers dental and the cost after insurance for about 8 cavities (about 2 or 3 that are visible when I smile)
--------------------
Just use oil of oregano, it will cure your cavity. Cut out wheat, meat, white sugar, pasteurized dairy, and fried foods to keep from getting more. If you think I'm kidding go to Youtube and type oregano & tooth. This is what your dentist doesn't want you to know! Dentistry is a nasty business.

Is this accurate? legal vs. illegal?

This is an email from my dad...he's kind of a racist and a major republican and all that and anyway i just wanted to know how much of this is actually accurate? my friend said illegal immigrants dont get welfare or any gov. pay bcuz they arent citizens, and that illegal immigrants have to work really hard to make money. I'm pretty sure illegal immigrants don't get all those benefits... So who is right? Before I made a rebuttal for my dad, ( i hate hearing his views on stuff like this) I just wanted to make sure i have my facts straight. Legal VS. Illegal . . . You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .
