Can my husband put my sister under his Tricare Prime Insurance? (Military)?

My sister lives with us now. She does not have any disabilities. Is there a way that we can say that we are taking care of my sister so that we can get her under my husbands Tricare Prime insurance? What about dental?

Just a rough estimate of dental procedures?

Hi everyone, First and foremost, thank you for all your inputs. I know that dental procedures can NEVER be at an exact estimate because it really depends on how bad or how much work needs to be done. But I am looking for people who have HAD similar procedures done and can kind of give me a ballpark price. I am not sure if age makes a difference..well I know it does but MUCH of a difference, I am 19, turning 20 on April 9. I WILL have dental insurance but I am just looking at prices that YOU received so I can expect the price to be around there. I am needing to go to the dentist because I really need to get these procedures done: 1) New fillings. My old ones are starting to deteriorate. I can actually see a hole in the side of one in one of my back molars. I also read that if the filling is too deep, the dentist might have to do a crown because drilling away all the tooth with little to no base for the new filling is not good. Is that true? 2) I have a lot of little tiny black dots on my new molars that grew in and 2 large black holes in other molars. Cavities! One of them already has a filling on it and the other one doesnt. 3) Braces/Invisilign
--------------------
i got my teeth deep cleaned by quadrants. and its $250 each quadrant. the fillings is 75 each tooth. then.. will get my braces for about 6000 , i had to take 3 wisdom teeth out for 1300, then 3 teeth from the front [incisor or premolars] forgot what they are called for 510, i think that braces would be better because invisilign. it may turn yellow. but then its less to be noticed. good luck

Does anyone have invisalign or know someone who does?

does it really work? my two front teeth are crooked, one of them is overlapping the other one and i want to see if it would straighten those out. how much on average is it? does Cigna dental insurance cover it?
--------------------
Hey, I'm a freshman in high school and I have invisalign. I think invisalign is the best thing since sliced bread, but some people do not like it at all. Invisalign works great, but sometimes it takes longer than braces. For instance, If I had chosen braces I would have had them off 1 month before I end my invisalign treatment. I have 40 invisalign trays to go through, which adds up to about a year and a half of treatment. That is costing my family $5,600. Invisalign is better in my opinion because you can eat whatever you want, you can't see them, and they are better for your teeth's appearance because you don't have the metal mouth and it does not leave stains like braces can. You have to be responsible with them though, not to lose them, and to wear them 24/7. They also can be a pain to clean sometimes, but I got retainer cleaner that works great. I don't know if Cigna covers them, sorry, but if you have any other questions, email me. I'd love to answer them, I definitely think you should get invisalign

How much would this cost, uninsured?

I'm 16 and have never been to the dentist before on account of my mom not having dental insurance because money is really tight. Anyway I need to go to the dentist and have two bottom teeth filled because I have cavities in both of them. I want to know how much the visit would cost and how much the two fillings would cost? I live in PA if that makes any difference.
--------------------
Well I am in VA and I had one done last year it was $110 (visit and filling). You could call around and ask, I am sure it varies from clinic to clinic and they will tell you on the phone.

Where can I find a dentist who uses anesthia for my 24 year old autistic son in Texas?

My 24 year old son is in desperate need of dental work. I cannot find a dentist who will see him. I have dental insurance, but medicaid will pay for his dental if the dentist feels its medically necessary to put him in the hospital. I am a single mother of 2 autistic sons and am struggling to make sure all their needs are met. They are both in a group home and they have not found a dentist either. Oprah, please help me find someone with patience, compassion and understanding who is willing to work on special needs people and willing to fix and restore his teeth. I know you are a very sweet and compassionate woman with a big heart. I am all my sons have and I just want to help my son. Please help me find a dentist.......Thank you, Mary

how do i get health insurance?

i work at shoprite and i know that we get medical/dental benefits after one year but i just cannot wait that long i need some care like right now ! so how do i get health insurance, where do i go? who do i call ? im lost -__- help me out please! all answers welcomed and appreciated.
--------------------
The first thing to do is chec k the internet for places like Kaiser Permanente, Blue Shield, Blue Cross, Aetna, Health Net, etc. See if any of these companies has a plan that is affordable for you. Depending on the type of medical problem, you need to check if it is covered and at what percentage. Some insurance companies for example, you pay $450 a month for the insurance but you have to pay a deductible per individual and per family (if you have more people depending on you) Let's say that the deductible is 300/year for individual and $600/year for family. You will have to pay the $450 a month, plus, if you receive some medical care at the hospital or some special tests, the insurance company will pay a portion for the tests and you would need to pay the rest. Let's say you get an abdominal Cat Scan, at the hospital or other facility that is a "preferred provider" for your particular insurance company. The hospital or facility will send an invoice to the insurance company for $3,500 dollars. The insurance company will tell the provider, based on a previous contract that said provider has signed with he insurance company, that the allocated or allowed ammount for this test in particular is $1,500, so the insurance company, according to your policy, and whatever the terms you have, will pay, 70% , 80% or 85% or 90% of the %1,500, and will tell you to pay the rest %30, 20%, 15% or 10%. And that is what you are liable to pay the provider. It is very important that before you go to a specific doctor you check with the insurance company and with the provider if they are "preferred provider" or "non preferred provider". For the non-preferred provider, the insurance company will pay less, leaving you with a higher balance to pay. When chosing an insurance company consider all the pros and cons. A cheaper policy may not give you the best options. People seem to be happy with Kaiser, but you will have to wait sometimes to get an appointment. Of course, if you have an emergency, nothing can stop you from going to the Kaiser Hospital emergency room and they willl have to take care of you. We have Blue Shield/Blue Cross from a government job. They pay well, but it is not cheap. The government is taking about $600 a month, plus the government still pays an additional $500. It ammount to about $1100/month. Of course at the end of the year, when we file the tax return, we report the $600/month we pay under medical expenses (This year we reported $6,732 in medical and medicines. We received a refund. Not all, of course, but some better than nothing. Good luck. Take your time shopping for insurance. Search the web. Ask people you trust.

Ink Inc., a publishing firm, offers its 899 employees a cafeteria approach to benefits, in which employees can?

enroll in the benefit plan of their choice. Seven hundred thirteen employees have health insurance, 523 have dental insurance, and 489 have both health and dental insurance. (a) What is the probability p that one of the employees has either health or dental insurance? (b) What is the probability p that one of the employees has health insurance but not dental insurance?
--------------------
(a) First of all since you are finding the probability of health, or dental the events are not mutually exclusive, becuase the people who have health also have dental. It would be 730/899 + 523/899 - 489/899 = 764/899, or approx 0.85. Remember the formula for non mutually exclusive events, p(1)+p(2)-p(1, and 2). (b) Same procces here, except you just have, p(1)-p(1, and 2), the reason for this is becuase there, non mutually exclusive, but it involves both 1, and 2, becuase you are finding the probability of just health insurance. Answer = 730/899(p ofhealth)-489/899(p of health and dental)=241/899, or approx .27

I think I have an infection in my jaw after getting my wisdom teeth out!?

What should I do? I've maxed out the family's dental insurance for the year, so I can't really go back to the doctor. I am still taking the antibiotics I got (since I only got my wisdom teeth taken out 2 days ago - I think I got 5 days worth total in the prescription). What do I need to do to get rid of the infection?

Most dental offices include any post op care in their fees for taking out the wisdom teeth. So I doubt if you would be charged to have it checked out . You can call and ask just to be sure. Good luck

how long does it take for a nerve to die in a tooth?

I have no dental insurance and can't afford to see a dentist. My wisdom tooth on the top is rotting out but its doing it from the top down and the exposed nerve is causing pain. Please help
--------------------
Get help ASAP or find some way to get yourself to a dentist, free clinic, ANYTHING. This is a response posted by a dentist on a forum I frequent when someone posted claiming to have the same thing you have, except when he posted this the nerve had died but started aching again... "In case you're considering skipping treatment to save some money - don't. You suffered from pulpitis, an inflammation of the pulp of the tooth caused by micro-organisms accompanying the cavity. The nerve is now dead, most likely gangrened. Because you did not get endodontic therapy it has now turned into apical periodontitis, which means it has spread to the tissues surrounding the tip of the root. So if you were fearing the infection would reach the root canal - well, it has and it's now moved on; it is currently making it's way through the bone around the tooth, slowly digging and growing - this is why the pain has returned, the infection is creating pressure in the tissues. Further postponement will result in the tooth abscess completely perforating the bone. You may get lucky and the pus could drain through the gums. You don't want to know what happens if you get unlucky and the infection spreads to other regions of your body (example - brain)."

Tingling sensation in one tooth. Is it a cavity or just simply sensitive teeth.?

I have a filling in that tooth and it's been feeling funny lately. I don't have dental insurance and don't want to spend money. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks!
--------------------
The answer is simple: go to your dentist to get an x-ray. That is one way to tell. Is your filling the "silver" filling and how long have you had it? The other way is still to go to your dentist and have him/her to do a sensitivity test on it. Other than that I suggest that you use Synsodyne toothpaste or if you're money strapped, then go to the dollar store and they have some sensitive toothpaste there. Good luck because your teeth are nothing to play with. It will cost you less money, if it's a cavity, to get it done now than to wait and do it.

Which Job Benefits for newly married couple?

I will be starting a new job soon and also getting married soon. I wanted to get some suggestions on the many benefits that are offered at my job that I need to consider when it comes to taking care of myself and my wife. For example, health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, 401(k), etc. Please give more things to enroll in or consider if I have left any out. Thanks
--------------------
Your new employer will go over all the available benefits with you. Health insurance is probably the most important. Employer group life insurance is fine, but if you're getting married, you should look into getting your own individual life insurance while you are still young and healthy (much cheaper!).

Orthogonathic surgery: How do I get my Health insurance to pay for it?

My orthodontist and dentist feel that I need to get Othorgonathic surgery to fix my underbite. They want me to to get surgery to my upper and lower jaws. To be honest I agree with them. I cant close my mouth comfortably along with the fact that I grind my teeth at night and I am already developing minor TMJ issues. However it says this in the exlusions & limitations section of my benefits information Upper and Lower jaw bone surgery except as required for the direct treatment of accute traumatic injury or cancer Orthogonathic surgery, jaw alignment and treatment for the tempromandibular joint except atreatment of obstructive sleep apnea Services for the evaluation and treatment of tempromandibular joint syndrome (TMJ) whether the services are considered to be medical or dental in nature. Has anyone else run into this problem? Were you able to successfully appeal? if so how? By the way I'm over 19. Thanks I would like to be able to smile in pics. for a change!

Call a very experienced oral maxillofacial surgeon. They are usually located in educational medical schools or consult a trauma hospitals....the folks that operate on gun shot wounds to the face....that is the surgeon you want doing this type of surgery....it is complicated. Call this type of surgeons private practice and ask who is in charge of billing...they usually know how different insurance cos work and how to go about getting coverage. I'd also make sure the doctor is not only a DDS (doctor of denistry), but also an MD (medical doc). Most really qualified oral maxillofacial doctors are...these guys are like artists or even more qualified than plastic surgeons.
