The difference between legal and illegal?

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California … Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted. Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, And gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table". Ready? Now pay attention… Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 Per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00. Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for His family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now Has $24,031.00. Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and Local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or Welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per Year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00. Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00. Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal Still has $ 31,200.00. Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal Now has $7,231.00. Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinking insurance!" and still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc. Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month. Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work. Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family. Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after School ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home. Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay. Do you get it, now? If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens… YOU are part of the problem! It's way PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans!

Wisdom Teeth: Locked Jaw?

Hello, I'm 19 and my wisdom teeth have not been removed. However, they are all partially showing. (teeth are popping out of gum) They have been like this for about 2 months. I just noticed on the left side of my mouth my jaw has become extremely stiff. I can hardly open my mouth and when I do I it pops as If I had TMJ and it is VERY painfull. I know I need them removed problem is that I have no dental insurance or any insurance at all. Does anyone know how much it would cost to get your wisdom teeth removed? And/Or does anyone know any good, reasonable dental insurance/plans. Thank you!

Cheap Dentist on Long Island NY?

Hey Im 22 and dont have dental insurance. Ive had a bad cavity for about 2 years and off and on gives a really intense pain. At times I go a few days without sleeping because as soon as I fall asleep Im woken up by the pain and have to run it under cold water. Im looking to have an extraction. Its the last tooth on the top right side and has a large hole in it so its not a full tooth. I dont have insurance and dont have the money to get insurance. I was kicked out and have a lot of bills and work as a waiter so I dont have a large income. Where on Long Island NY can I find a place to extract the tooth at a cheap price? Maybe a dental school or something. Any information would help. Oh and when it starts to hurt it usually bleeds(swelling gums into the sharp edge of the tooth) If your just going to say go to an emergency vet and make payment plans please dont post because Im already 3 grand in debt and dont want anymore. Thank in advance

I'm gunna ask my dentist if he knows of any good / cheap clinics in the area. -- But here's some info about some clinics/dentists in the area: I've been reading around, a few sites suggest trying to go to a college that has people being trained to become hygienists; it may possibly be free or very cheap. I looked up schools on http://www.collegeview.com and the following are some of the schools that train for dentistry in NY: -SUNY Farmingdale, (Farmingdale) -Monroe CC (Rochester) -Stonybrook U, (Stony Brook) -Hofstra, (Hempstead) There are 41 schools altogether in the search, but most are out of the way. (You can go to collegeview.com and do an advanced searched, if you're still interested though) [Copying & Pasting]: Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Vanderbilt Clinic 622 West 168th Street 212-305-6726 http://dental.columbia.edu/ New York University College of Dentistry 345 East 24th Street 212-998-9800 http://www.nyu.edu/dental/ State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine 325 Squire Hall 3435 Main Street 716-829-2821 http://www.sdm.buffalo.edu Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine 631-632-8989 http://www.hsc.stonybrook.edu/dental

Top back tooth and the one directly below it, constant ache?

Ok, so i haven't gotten my wisdom teeth out (I'm 21, gonna be 22 in a month) and i know they're effing up my alignment (had braces years ago, wore my retainer, lost it, and parents wouldn't pay for another one) so I know i need them and most likely the teeth next to them pulled. buuuut just random, not my top wisdom tooth or the one right next to it, but the one right next to that has a constant ache. it's not in my gums or anything, it's directly in my tooth i think. when i press the outside of the tooth with my tongue there's a little annoying twinge of pain and when i put my tongue in the pits and fissues, it feels like i'm biting aluminum foil or something. not really painful, just a constant sort of annoying that wasn't there until randomly today. i can eat and drink fine, but it seems to be most noticeable when i'm not eating ot drinking. i haven't had the best oral hygiene and i'm pretty sure i need a ton of teeth pulled, cavities filled, root canals, etc. i have a dentist appointment for a cleaning and check up on the 26th of this month but i haven't been to the dentist in years (5 i think) because i have an anxiety disorder that is triggered specifically by dental visits. i developed this as a young child. is there anything i can do in the interim to relieve the aching? like i said, it didn't hurt at all yesterday and all of a sudden today when i was in town shopping, i could feel it start to ache. i'm scared to death of the dentist and i'm extremely embarassed that i'm the cause of my horrible teeth. i know this sounds stupid but i'm worried my dentist is going to "look down upon me" for the condition my teeth are in. i don't have dental insurance yet, but will next month so i'm just having the cleaning and stuff done on the 26th and when im covered under military dental insurance next month hopefully, i'll have my work done when i move back to our duty station. but again, is there anything i can do in the interim? is this pain i'm feeling, guaranteed that i'll need a root canal or extraction?

Don't even get me started on this, and I'm already straying from my TC category, Food and Drink. This crap has been going on in Southern California since before I was a child: That's 52 years. And you're right, THAT SUCKS. Period. I'm a "Christopher Legal" and I get NOTHING to show for my taxes, except: 1) Illegals getting EVERYTHING for free: The other day, I was in the grocery store. There was an Hispanic woman, obese, with 6, count 'em SIX kids and one on the way. At THE FRICKING END OF THE TRANSACTION, SHE YANKED OUT *******WIC********** COUPONS. They had to "re ring" everything, as one coupon goes for milk, the next for formula, etc. I happened to be behind this "tribe" while in the parking lot: Her husband was SITTING IN A 2010 LEXUS.............AND SHE HAD JUST USED ***********WIC*********** coupons, that I paid for from MY taxes........... I'll come back and finish this, just thinking about it makes me want to heave up my breakfast........... Christopher K. EDIT: Thomas, pull your head out, you need some oxygen.........pull your head out of your rectum, buddy......seems the O2 levels in there are down..........like your IQ......................................… EDIT II: Anyone who DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THIS is a complete moron, and needs to come and live in Southern California and THEN answer this question...........

How does one find an honest dentist?

Recently, I've had some bad experiences with dentists that I felt were trying to get me to receive treatment and services that I either don't really need or want. Several of these treatments or services that I was encouraged to receive are not covered by my dental insurance. For example, on a recent visit I was given an oral cancer screening that cost me $65. This wasn't covered by insurance. When I signed the paper work at the beginning of the visit, the consent form for this screening was mixed in with the other paper work. Why didn't they inform me this wasn't covered. My intuitive sense is that these dentist offices are more about the bottom line and making a profit instead of good dental health for patients. Honestly, it is like going to a garage and being ripped off. I've talked to several colleagues and friends and they are being pressured just as I have to have "deep cleaning," night guards, braces(they are in their 30's and 40's), chemo thrap, etc. My question is how do I find a dentist who is not trying to rip me off but has my dental health as one of his/her top priorities?
--------------------
You might try going to a dental clinic that is affiliated with a dental school in your area. I've never gone to a private practice dentist in my whole life. I have always gone to the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Faculty Practice clinic. They are the most honest because they get paid on salary so it's not in their interest to make you have procedures that you do not need. These types of clinics also bill insurance if money is an issue. Even if you don't have insurance procedures there are cheaper than a private practice. They are probably better than private practice dentists because they are also faculty, so they are always up to date on the latest. I'm not sure what area you live in, but I would try to seek out some dental schools in your area and see if they have an faculty practice clinic. If this is not an option then just try to talk to as many people as you can to refer you to a good dentist. If know it seems that dentists are only out to get your money, but there are good and honest ones out there. Hope this helps!

What do you think I'm liable for?

I had dental insurance for my son for 9 straight years, my ex say he needs braces. My insurance would cover $1800.00 of it . I offered to take him but she would not let me take him to my dentist, which was $1500 cheaper than her estimate and 20 miles further. Long story short she never took him, now 5 years later and no dental insurance she wants to take him. What I'm asking is $1800 is a big chunk of change, would I have any case reguarding this?
--------------------
No matter when she decides to do the dental work you are liable to help her with the bill.yes she is wrong for waiting so long but you are still his dad and this is needed to be done.

How long has it been since you have been to the dentist?

I have not been to the dentist for about a year and a half. Lot's going on and well, time kinda slips away before you know it. I brush twice a day and floss on occasion. I don't have dental insurance, but fortunately had a very competent dentist who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for basic care. I'm curious to know how often you go to the dentist. Please state your age/male or female? Also, who often you go to the dentist including cleaning. Also, whether or not you have dental insurance. If not, how much do you pay out of pocket for a dental visit? Thanks.
--------------------
You really should visit the dentist regularly. They're able to tell a lot about you just from your teeth. Without proper care, you can have a lot of problems! Not only your teeth, but other areas too. I'm 19, female and go to the dentist for cleanings/checkups every 6 months. I have been since I was little. I go to the orthodontist (I have retainers) the same time I get my cleanings done. I have insurance.

--------------------
Simplistic perhaps but fairly true. What you have ignored though is that the large number of illegals actually reduces the amount Joe will be able to earn as there are cheaper alternatives, so he may end up on 20 an hour. Also his taxes are higher because of the support needed for non payers. So where does the fault lie? In part with Jose but also with the employers and the state in not enforcing the rules. Blame doesnt help Joe, he is still shafted.

Is $350 normal for an 'initial appointment' at a dentists office?!?

I am a York University Student and have been having an on and off again toothache on the upper right hand side of my mouth, in the last two teeth. Due to the fact that my parents do not have any kind of insurance and I have also had very expensive braces a few years ago I haven't been to the actual dentist in about 5 years . Now I have health and dental insurance from my university which covers 70% of dental costs along with another 10% off at the dental office on campus because I am a student. The receptionist said my first appointment would be thorough with X-rays and all but she said it would cost around $350, around $100 coming out of my pocket. My question is is this cost reasonable for an initial appointment or should I go somewhere else where I will only get a 70% discount? This is the dentist on campus which is closest to me. What if I go and there is a problem then I will have to pay more money to get that fixed since I have to pay tuition and also OSAP?

call another dentist, i was told $250.00 my was with xrays also i think they have shot the price up because you have insurance, you see i don,t

so how much would veneers cost me?

im going to the dentist to get my teeth looked at by a dentist. im eighteen years old and i have sensitive teeth that i grind really hard at night. my teeth have white stains all over them due to too much fluoride in the water that i used to drink while living in New Mexico. my mom wanted to take me to the dentist to get my teeth fixed. she wants me to get veneers. the dentist said that i'd need 8 veneers since my smile shows that many visible teeth. i have tricare dental insurance. its military insurance. its pretty good, it covered my acne medication which cost up to 150 dollars. well anyways my mom says that my insurance would cover part of the dental procedure if my dentist puts down that i am in desperate need of the veneers. is this true?
--------------------
We charge (australia) $130 per tooth for composite veneers (tooth coloured fillings) $890 per tooth for Porcelain Veneers - Best for Bruxism (Grinding) An occlusal splint would be advised allowing you to grind away at the plastic instead of wearing both the veneers and natural tooth that's before any rebate is applied Military Insurance is really good they normally cover about 60% Hope this is helpful

--------------------
That is a great argument for more stringent tax enforcement and prosecution of evaders. There are many US citizens who are paid under the table and enjoy the same benefits without being forced into it. But the bottom line is that the main difference between a "legal" and "illegal" alien is a little plastic card issued by USCIS. We have a gridlocked immigration system because we have too many rules. Then every 20 years or so we have to clean up the backlog by having an amnesty. We need to let every alien, legal or otherwise, apply for immigration or re-classification without any pre-conditions. Then USCIS and Immigration judges should make decisions based on the facts and circumstances of each case, taking employment conditions, family relationship and conduct into consideration. Then they should hand out green cards, fines, or removal orders as appropriate. Perhaps we can even encourage some of them to disperse to places in need of labor by offering incentives or imposing extra taxes in places of high unemployment.

Hi I live in Ohio too.You will have to extract the tooth. If you can find an allcare dental in your area, I had a dead tooth and an appointment at the dentist but I couldn't take it anymore, so I walked in, came back about 2 hours later and (they don't know much) but they were able to give me antibiotics and tylenol with codene until I could get in.And the first visit was free. It'll possilby buy you some time. They also took a panoramic view x-rays and I needed them later and they only charged me $5.25 to come and get them. That was well worth it. Now answer mine (peridontal question)

Periodontal disease.. !?

My boyfriend has had periodontal disease for a while. He was told the dentist couldn't do anything and that eventually his teeth would fall out. After doing some research and talking to a few dentists, I found it is actually very treatable and curable. The thing is, he recently was laid off and lost his dental insurance. His teeth have been hurting REALLY bad lately. Is there a way he can get treatment for his teeth without insurance in Sacramento, Ca? Without paying a buttload? If not, I wouldn't have any idea how go about getting dental insurance without an employer. Any thoughts? Ideas?? Help?? Thanks!

Im in agony because of my tooth...?

i had a wisdom tooth taken out about 2 years ago. a few days after it was removed i woke up and 2 teeth over from the removed tooth one of my molar was cracked about 40%. the crack or gap is down to the gum line on the inside side of my teeth. when this happened i had dental insurance so i saw a different dentist who filled it with a long lasting temporary filling "cream" that hardened within a few hours. it is now 2 years later and that filling "cream" has now dissolved and i've been filling it on my own with Dentemp temporary filling. I have done this 3 times now because it only last about 2-3 months. in the past week it's been hurting A LOT so i figured it's time to refill it. i noticed that the old filling the dentist put it was now 100% gone and i can see black at the bottom of the tooth. i refilled it and i am still in agony. tooth pain is the worst. i dont have any insurance and am just starting a new job tonight. what are my options? should i go to the E.R? should i find a free dental clinic? or low cost dental clinic? i live in wisconsin so my options are limited. I'm a 21 year old male. thanks

Try checking with social services in your area for referrals to dentists or dental clinics that operate on a sliding scale for payment. The only real solution for you is to get to a good dentist asap.. ER will only give you temporary relief from pain and is extremely expensive.. No one likes going to dentists, but most dentists are very understanding and nonjudgmental. They don't want to see you in pain either. Remember too, pain is your bodies way of telling you something is wrong. I understand that options may be limited, but there are always options available. That's why I suggest starting with your local United Way or other social agency to get a referral or advice for your area of the country. Good luck!. There can be life without dental pain. Tooth pain is among the worse pain I agree. Make those calls asap. The sooner you do, the sooner your teeth will be pain-free.

does anyone have any knowledge about amending a divorce decree?

I have been divorce for 5 years, at the time of the divorce i carried all health insurance for children and ex,although i never covered dental it was also listed in the the divorce agreement. My ex husband carries full coverage for their dental and the dental insurance will not pay because the have the divorce decree and they say they have to go by what it says! Even though my husband argues that he pays for it and he always has covered it. They said the only way the will pay is if we get the decree amended. Do we actually have to file, wait for a date, both take a day off from work, charge the state for the judges time, just so he can sign a piece of paper saying we agree? Is there any way it can be done by computer, phone, or as least download a form and get it started by mail??? Please, any legal help out there
--------------------
Most states will take either a Rule 11 or other format written agreement between the parties. You can go online to your state's website and fill out the form or call your local courthouse. Both of you need to sign in front of a notary and then pay the filing fee with the court. You will be assigned a court date, in writing. One of you must attend. After that, the judge will approve and you will need to get formalized copies from the courthouse for a small fee. All in, it's a few hundred dollars and a couple of hours of your time. You can also hire an attorney to do the paperwork for you but it will cost more. If you provide your state, one of us could probably post the appropriate link.

Why do so many people think Landon Donovan sucks?

Also why don't we apply better laws in the country. The Arizona immigration law is what this nation needs. As an Americans I speak for all of America. Americans are getting tired of illegal's taking our children's education, not paying taxes, and getting welfare at tax paying Americans expense. An analogy; You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children and live in California. Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour, with taxes deducted. Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number and gets paid $15.00 cash per hour, "under the table". Ready? Now pay attention ... Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week or $52,000.00 per year. Now take minimum 30% away for state and federal tax and Joe Legal now has$31,231.00. Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays NO state or federal taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00. Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00. Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare, due to his "anchor children" that were born in the US . Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00. Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month or $2,400.00 for car insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00. Jose Illegal says "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00. Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc. Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, plus what he sends out of the country every month. Joe Legal's children go home and he needs to pay for a babysitter to watch them while he and his wife work. Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay anything. Do you get it, now? If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens in any manner, then you are part of the problem! It's WAY PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans! It is also way past time to rescind the "anchor baby" law. Remove the incentive for illegals to rush across our border to give birth and thus have access to benefits Americans have worked and paid their entire lives for! What are you waiting for? Pass it on.

Very painful tooth-what can I do?

I have health insurance but no dental. Since I take good care of my teeth, and don't have much expendable income, I do not have a dentist. I cracked a tooth about 3 weeks ago, and have been in severe pain ever since. I did not and will not have any extra money to spend to see a dentist for about 3 weeks, as I have to pay my rent and electric bill and water, and will have nothing left. The pain is getting drastically worse and feels like it is in my ear, head, and neck. I am practically in a state of panic at this point, because I have heard that if I have an infection, it can spread to other parts of the body? I don't receive gov't assistance, but barely make enough money to pay my bills. There are no dental schools in the area. I obviously can't miss work, as I need every penny I make, though I am in such pain I'm having a very difficult time concentrating or even not crying at my desk! What do working-class people without dental insurance do?? I can't take much more pain. =(

Many people seek out Dental Clinics. They are free of charge and they fix your teeth in a timely fashion. Dental Clinics are consisted of Dentists around the neighborhood who are good-hearted and volunteer to help those who can't afford dental insurance. They are usually open from 6-9 so you can go there after work. But they are not opened everyday, usually only about twice a week. There is usually a Dental clinic in every major city or in a city where a university is located. (Be nice to the Dentist though, they do take their own personal time after they finish up at their own practice then come and volunteer) To help fix your pain temporarily. If you have a syringe and some hydrogen peroxide or peridex (both can be found at Walgreen's, target, wal-mart, etc...). Squirt some peridex or hydrogen peroxide into the cracked tooth. Rinse and spit it out. PLEASE DO NOT SWOLLEN! This some help the pain and reduce any infection if there are any. Take some cotton and rip off a little piece and also soak it in the peridex or hydrogen peroxide. Put that little piece of cotton in the cracked tooth to prevent anything from coming in. Change this cotton twice a day or more. But this is not the solution to your problem! Please still go to a dental clinic so you can get it fix properly! Try not to eat on that tooth and try your best to keep the liquids you drink away also.

Wisdom teeth extraction?

Three of my wisdom teeth have grown in properly, however one has not and I'm trying to get all four of them removed to get it done and over with and to relieve me of any further complications down the line. I have dental insurance and all four extractionS are free, however considering one of me teeth is impacted the (only) dental surgeon at my dentist requires that I be put to sleep for this process, under general anetisia which costs $475 dollars, the extractions are free, but not the anestia that HE OH SO REQUIRES. My mom DOES NOT want me to go under because she just not trust this place, considering I have one broken tooth due to them filling it with too much emalgum and may need to a root canal and crown because of it also one of my fillings cracked. My mother is very displeased with their service and we're going to switch dental places. BUT, DO YOU THINK THEY'RE JUST OUT TO GET MONEY? DO YOU THINK THAT IT ISN'T NECESSARY TO GO UNDER IF THERE'S ONLY ONE WISDOM TOOTH THAT IS IMPACTED? We don't have $475 for this procedure, but do you think this sounds CORRECT? Like the proper thing, I truly think they're just out to get money, which most places are, but I found this frustrating. And during my consultation, the oral surgeon who is only there on Monday's and Friday's was very touchy feely. And the guy who helps and checks your insurance plan at the front desk didn't want to tell us that if the doctor gave me just regular anestisia like the shot in the gum that it too WOULD BE FREE. He didn't want to say it, but he did, after my mom asked him a 2nd time. What do you think?
--------------------
I honestly thing the dentist is trying to rip you off. First of all, I had all four of my wisdom teeth that were impacted taken out all at once, and I didn't even go under anesthesia. My oral surgeon gave me the option in order to make me feel comfortable. He gave my tons of shots in my mouth to numb it and he also gave my laughing gas to calm me down. I listened to my ipod and was fine. If I were you I would definitely go to a new dentist. Also, 475 is a lot for the procedure, I think my dentist asked for 350. If I could stay awake throughout the procedure of 4 impacted teeth getting pulled out all at once, then you can surely do it without being put out!

Do I really need an implant for this extracted molar?

In spring of this year, I had to have my number 30 tooth pulled. This is on the bottom right, second from the back (not including wisdom tooth, which was removed years ago). It had been broken for several months thanks to a cavity and a cherry with a pit inside of it, and had degenerated into a black, painful, gory stump. I did not have dental insurance when it eventually abscessed, and I was forced to have it pulled at an emergency dental facility. Funnily enough, my mother is missing this same exact tooth and has been for about 20 years, and none of her teeth have shifted or fallen out as a result of the missing tooth. My maternal grandparents are also both missing molars which they had pulled, and none of them have suffered any consequences. They insist that the dentists are trying to get me to pay more money by telling me myths about the consequences of pulling teeth. I wonder if they are right, or if having super awesome teeth just runs in our family. At any rate, I have dental insurance now through my employer and am wondering if I ought to get an implant. It has been less than a year, but I have not yet seen any problems. Sometimes I do feel like my teeth on my left side get a little sore from handling the brunt of the chewing, and I worry that this means they are all going to start deteriorating if I don't get an implant. Any ideas?
--------------------
You need to speak to your dentist about other options for tooth replacement. You could do a mini partial (its removable) to maintain space. You can also do a 2 unit cantilever bridge (non removable). The cantilever bridge is done by crowning the tooth behind the missing tooth and putting a false tooth in your empty spot and it rests on the tooth in front. Also you can do a 3 unit bridge. Each of these is cheaper than an implant and crown and the wait time is usually 2 weeks vs. the year it can take for the implant to be ready for a crown. root canal done wrong! What should I do??Please read detail below for story...?

May, of this year, I paid cash for root canal. I recently started getting dental insurance and old dentist did not accept my insurance so I went to a new dentist. My new dentist have done quite of bit of work for me now and have prepared me for the crown for the root canal the old dentist did. But my insurance called and told me that the coverage would be denied because the root canal done in may was not complete as told by my xrays. I fear if the root canal has to be redone I will lose the tooth. After my new dentist prepared it, barely any tooth is left. But why didnt my new dentist notice the incorrect root canal?? Should I tell my old dentist what is going on?? do i let my new dentist fix the problem, could this be dental malpractice in need for a lawyer, especally if i end up losing the tooth? If not could I at least get my cash back for a root canal that was not even done right? should I go to a new dentist all together??
--------------------
Are you 100% positive this is a root canal done wrong? Did your insurance company do the root therapy? Are you having any problems with the tooth since the root therapy was completed in May? Are you really having any problems with either of the dentists that have been treating you? If the answer to the above questions are all "no", then your have a problem with your insurance carrier. They are quite crafty at finding reasons to deny claims, so I'd find out why they are denying the claim. Ensure they have the proper x-ray of the tooth with the root therapy completed. I really doubt that both your previous dentist and your new dentist are in cahoots trying to hide an undone root canal from you. Either one or the other would have said something. It always amazes me at how quickly patients will want to find fault with their doctor or dentist when they hear from their insurance company. The insurance company doesn't know a thing about doing dentistry. They do know a lot about how to deny claims. So forget about a lawyer and get right on the phone to your insurance carrier and get to the bottom of this. It's your coverage! They owe it to you! By the way, there is no requirement that a tooth has to have a root therapy before you need a crown. After you have had a root therapy the tooth needs the proper support with a crown so it seems as if both dentists were doing the right treatment for you. Best of luck and go get 'em! (The insurance people that is.)

Root Canal, wisdom teeth removal, etc....where to go?

I am a full time student and support myself 100%. I currently have no insurance but I desperately need some dental work done. I need my wisdom teeth taken out and I also need to have one or two root canals done. I could maybe afford some dental insurance if it's less than $75 or so a month but I can't afford to pay a few hundred dollars per root canal or anything like that. Are there any dental plans out there that just have a copay and then cover everything or does that kind of thing not exist? I'm sure there are a lot of people in my position so how do people do it if they have to see a dentist or get something major (like wisdom teeth) done? Are there any grants out there or any other help? If anyone knows of something please let me know. thank you!

Do a google search for dental schools in your state. That's the best deal you're going to get.
