Does anyone know of any good dental insurance?

I live in Illinois and my employer doesn't offer dental insurance, so I am on the search for some, if anyone has any good ones, let me know.. thanks...
--------------------
If your job does not offer insurance, perhaps they will offer a "medical spending account". This plan allows you to withhold pre-taxed dollars to use for non-insured medical/dental/vision costs. It's a good deal if you plan carefully. In most of the plans, funds unused at the end of the year are lost - so be sure to only hold out what you think you'll need. Invidual dental plans are hard to find and generally cost more than they're worth.

Is dental insurance covered in Canada by the government?

I am at present in Canada. I have a deep tooth decay and soon I might have to undergo a root canal treatment. My question is weather the insurance cover partly or full the treatment cost or not. In case it does, then please specify how much. Thanks in advance

How does dental insurance work?

I thought 2 cleanings/year were covered by my dental plan - but turns out it was only every 6 months, so I was not expecting to pay for the cleaning. When the cleaning is not covered by my dental plan, what does the dentist charge me - the a la carte price, or the "discount" rate they charge the dental plan provider?
--------------------
Most people can get away with just two dental cleanings a year. For those who need a supplemental dental plan to cover dental procedures that are not covered a dental discount plan would help. Teeth cleanings can vary depending on where you live. See the dental fee schedule at the link below.

What are some of the better companies for Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance?

My company offered me basically a "incase" type of insurance. No dental, no vision. I am a young single man and I want something that is more for me but I still would like all around good coverage that won't drain money from my wallet. Any good suggestions?

what is the best dental insurance plan?

i'm looking to buy a dental plan and i have no idea about different tips of plans like DHMO, PPO and ... please help me with your experiences and comments.
--------------------
a PPO is ok, but sometimes it's better to just be a cash patient, most offices will give you a discount. Depending on how much work you have to be done sometimes you'll pay more for the insurance then you would just getting your cleanings and check ups every year. Dental Insurance isn't like health insurance, it's basically a discount plan, sure they pay for some of your treatment but not 100% of everything. They make alot of exclusions too, for example, most don't pay for fluoride on adult patients, but most adults need it. Dental insurance is a business, they're out to make money not protect your best interests. If you have to choose, pick whatever the highest option is, look to see if it covers orthodontic coverage. Figure out how much you have to pay for it per month, then figure out how much it costs you to go to the dentist without insurance.

What exactly does a dental insurance service frequency limitation of 2 per 12 consecutive months mean?

During the first 12 months understand that it means that a particular service, for example, a routine dental cleaning, is covered 2 times with in a 12 month period, but what about the second 12 month period, and the third and so on. Is it always based the dates of coverage of the very first 2 cleanings in that first 12 month period, or does it change based on when the last two were covered in the previous 12 month period? For example if the very first 2 were covered on 3/16/04 & 6/23/04 and the next two were covered on 4/16/05 & 9/13/05, are the next two eligible 3/16/06 & 6/23/06 or 4/16/06 & 9/13/06?
--------------------
youre making it harder than it is. check w/your Plan. either they allow 2 services 2x a yr, anytime in the calendar yr or....they require service #2 to be at least 6 mos from service #1 that calendar yr. the company i work for does not care when its performed in that yr, only the quantity. the computer system will disqualify anything beyond 2.

I don't know what to do. I can afford dental coverage and I already called the office where the procedures will take place. They said they take Anthem. If you live near a local university which has a dental program, contact them. We have the Univ of Mich Dental School and they charge less than 1/2 of what local dentists charge. They are observed by licensed dentists and the work is comparable. Many people have used this service as they do not have insurance either. Good luck!

If I change dental insurance providers during treatment?

My daughter has braces and I am going to be switching jobs. Will the new insurance cover the braces then?
--------------------
You may want to call your current Insurance carrier and see if you can continue with them by paying direct. Since you are in the Middle of treatment finding insurance that will cover for work in progress may be very hard if not impossible. Even discount plans tend not to give the discount for work in progress since this is normally an exclusion. The best advise I can give you if you can not keep your current insurance, is to make sure you read all the limitations and exclusion of any dental insurance and or plan. Call and confirm ask these questions before buying. I hope this helps G

How does dental insurance for braces works?

How much does it cover? Am i going to have be paying it off for a long time, even after the braces get removed. Is it worth having? Thank you!
--------------------
Dental insurance plans vary widely in terms of coverage. Some cover orthodontic treatment, some don't. Is it worth having? If the "it" is dental insurance, then I'd say it almost never makes sense for an individual to purchase dental benefits. The premiums are too high relative to the benefits. If however you can get it through your employer it MIGHT be worth it. If you can purchase dental insurance through work, you might ask your dentist to look at the plan you are considering and ask if buying it makes financial sense. Good luck, Steve Bornfeld, DDS

What company has a good Dental Insurance plan at a low cost?

I only make minimum wage at part-time right now. So monthly cost for it has to be inexpensive.

What is the difference between dental insurance and a discount plan?

and what are the pros and cons of each??can yu save money?
--------------------
Because they cost the consumer less than dental insurance, discount plans are adding more members to it's plans every year. Discount plans are popular with Dentists who use them. Over 30,000 Dentists in the US have joined the Ameriplan® network. Why would over 30,000 Dentists provide a discount to Ameriplan® dental patients? 1) More patient referrals, means less advertising. 2) They are paid at the time of service by the discount plan member. 3) They do not have to submit claim forms and wait up to 120 days to be paid for their dental services. With Ameriplan® the savings can be up to 80%. Dental fees vary per region.
