I have a slight chip on my tooth, I have no dental insurance...?

It is just the face of the tooth, my top front tooth, not too deep. How much would this cost to get fixed without insurance?
--------------------
It costs WAY too much money, get the insurance.

How much does dental partial cost without insurance? I have insurance not sure if they will cover the cost?

Any reason why my insurance company would not cover the coast?
--------------------
It depends on the insurance, but many will cover a certain amount such as 50%. Partials cost more than dentures (usually) because the dentist and lab has to design a metal framwork to go on your existing teeth that the partial is then built over. I've seen prices ranging from $600-1500 for one arch (upper or lower.)

which is the best dental insurance?

how do i purchace individual dental insurance and which provider is the best. i have Metlife dental through my job and i thought that i was fully covered only to find out that i have a 1000 dollar limit every year, which is like absolute nonesense, just a visit to the dentist with no work done takes about 250 dollars. i need to have a root canal and a crown and its goin to cost around 4500. please help i live in houston, texas if that helps
--------------------
Every dental insurance I've ever had has had about $1000 cap on it. It sucks, I myself need a lot of dental work and have been forced to do a little each year because insurance hardly covers. Whatever you do, don't get Aflac, they cover less than half of the charges.

I'm in desperate need of Dental work but insurance covers a measley $1500 of the $6k bill?

Does anyone know of a dentist in the St Louis area willing to work out a payment plan of some sort for dental work any help would be greatly appreciated.
--------------------
The best program for the St. Louis area for dentists that will give you a payment plan, and a substantial discount off of the usual and customary fees ($6k) is LocalDentist4Less. You must use a dentist on the plan to get the benefit.

Dental Insurance for full time jobs?

I was thinking of getting braces, and if i get a full time job to let the dental insurance pay for them. But the full time job might only be for about 6 months (afterwards I'm trying to get into grad school). Would insurance still cover that? or do you have to keep working the job and receive insurance throughout the total length of time you are wearing the braces? Thanks!

Medical Discount Plan ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services. Individual & Family Health Plans This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose. Short Term Medical Plans This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months. YOu are not the only person who have ever met this kind of problem,I met this type of problem before.I have good experience here    www.HealthInsuranceFree.info    to solve the problem.

dental question about insurance?

I'm planning on getting braces soon, and i need a plan or insurance that will cover the cost of teeth extractions. How much does it cost to get a tooth extracted? Also, does it cost more to get your wisdom teeth extracted? I've checked some insurances out but the waiting periods are too long. If i plan to get my teeth (6 including wisdom teeth) extracted, does that fall under surgical extractions or periodontal? Because periodontal has a 12-month waiting period. I would like to get in done withing 6 months.
--------------------
You can't get a private policy that's going to cover much of tooth extractions. It usually costs about $150 per tooth, but your policy likely has a deductible of $500 or so. Wisdom teeth are different. Yes, all the private policies will have a waiting period. Having teeth extracted counts as extractions, but likely you'll have a big fat deductible along with the waiting period.

Does anyone know of dental insurance with no waiting periods?

not looking for the discount, that barelly helps

LOL, medicaid doesn't pay for 90% of dental procedures! They only pay for extractions, filllings, numbing meds. NOTHING ELSE. They don't even pay for cleanings! You're better off getting private insurance.

Is dental treatment included under medical insurance in any countries outside the US?

I'm looking to find how it works in other coutries...does the medical insurance ever cover dental care?
--------------------
I can tell you about the medical system in Germany: yes, the basic dental therapy is covered by the medical insurance. You don´t have to pay for check up, x-rays, root canal treatment, extractions, periodontal treatment, tartar removal (once a year)...if you want something special, like a composite filling, any better type of crowns (not just gold) then you have to pay. The price you pay depends on how much you earn. When you´re poor, the insurance pays more, sometimes even everything. But you´ll just get the cheapest materials. Our system seems to be much better than yours, but still it isn´t perfect and we have a lot of trouble. When I first read all the questions here, one thing really striked me: many people don´t have any insurance!!! In Germany you MUST have one. As soon as you have work, you´re automatically getting insured by your boss. If you´re jobless the work-agency pays your insurance.

I am about to have my wisdom teeth removed and have dental insurance. What is the typical out of pocket cost?

I live in a big city
--------------------
The other two answers are good: there are so many different plans and clauses in each plan, it's impossible to say what yours will cover. But....typical dental insurance (if there IS such a thing) pays 80% of their "usual and customary" charges on oral surgery. If you have a deductible, it will apply as well. So, in the above example, if your oral surgeon charges you $1000 and you have a $50 deductible you will pay 20% ($200) plus the deductible for a total out-of-pocket of $250. Of course, if your insurance company thinks $900 is "usual and customary", then it would pay 20% of that. See why it gets complicated??? Ask the dental office to give you an estimate before doing the work. The most reliable way to know your costs before hand is to request a pre-authorization. It takes time, but if money is a concern, this is the best way to go.

Affordable Dental Insurance in NY?

I live in Queens NY and I have no dental insurance. My mother works but she doesn't make a good amount and my father is unemployed. She has medical insurance, Aetna, but it doesn't cover dental and I need to have 1 stupid root canal done and it will cost 2000 w/o insurance. Anybody, I need help. I am also a student in college, so any help, I really need it.
--------------------
Call your local dental society. They can give you the names of dentists that provide low-cost, sliding scale or free care. Most cities, states and counties have them. NYU College of Dentistry also has a dental clinic. I'm a Social Worker and wish you and your mother the best. God Bless.

Dental insurance in Upstate NY?

Where can I get cheap dental work or help finding dental insurance in DC/MD/Northern VA?

I am at a situation where I must get a root canal very soon since my tooth has an infection and the nerve must be removed. I just got a crown on this tooth from my dentist who was kind enough NOT to warn me that an infection was possible. This work used up all my allowance with my current dental insurance, so now I have to pay for any work done myself. It is very expensive and I am looking into the cheapest possible way. The dentist who did this, or my current insurance will not assist me. Do you know any places I can go that would be cheaper? Or do you know if I can purchase a dental insurance that will help me cover the costs? Thank you

you might want to try dental school. They usually charge much less than a dentist and they need patient for their studies.

will Obama health care plan include dental insurance?

i would just like to know because i need two root canals that cost about 1000 dollars each.i found private rip off insurance that was willing to cover me but it was like 350.00 a month but only covered 20 percent for root canals and i cant afford that so if any one knows were i can get some cheap dental insurance can u plz let me know.thanks
--------------------
Trick question. There is no Obama health care plan, and there won't ever be one. All of the current plans working their way through the House and Senate were written by the for profit health care and insurance industries for the further enrichment of the rich and impoverishment of the poor. How can we deduce this? The option of a nationalized, single payer health care system, like every other advanced nation has, never made it to the table to begin with and now it's not even in the same building as the rest of the bill. The wimpier public option was pretty much killed off by President Obama's latest speech on the subject, and the wimpiest, totally pointless, co-op idea is still drawing grumbles from the fascist right. We also seem to be moving closer to mandated health care which would force poor people who couldn't afford health insurance to begin with to buy it anyway or face fines. Who do you think that provision would help? To address your specific dental problems, I'd advise you to expect things to get worse before they get better. Get your root canals done as quick as you can as cheap as you can, then treat your teeth like they were worth more than gold. Soon that may be the truth.
