How much does it cost to get braces on just two teeth? and also are there any good dental insurances (canada)?

about the dental insurance, i was wondering if there are any good ones that people are using and that are for Canadians. Thankss!
--------------------
You can't get braces on two teeth. You have to get it on the lower half, upper half, or both.

will dental insurance help fixing my bad smile or a discount plan?

my job dont have insurance but they pay us what they would pay for it..i make good money now and want to fix my teeth and dont know what the best plan of action to take.and does insurance cover veneers?
--------------------
most insurance have limits on coverage. Mine, blue cross, for example, limits orthodontia (braces) to $1500 per family member, for life. Stuff that is considered cosmetic, like veneers, are GENERALLY not covered. That doesn't mean ALL policies don't cover them. Each one is different and the monthly premium is based on the amount of coverage and the deductible, just like car insurance. Dental and medical Insurance makes sense if you're illness prone, have kids, are old. the generally exclude pre-existing conditions. If you're single, go with the discount plan. If you have kids go with the PPO. HMO's suck and don't mind letting you suffer. As a single guy/gal it's easy to do, but to watch your kids suffer sucks. Good luck. Insurance is a ripoff, but like women, can't live with it, can't live without it.

Question about dental insurance?

It's almost the end of the year and I need to get four wisdom tooth pull before I get braces. I have Metlife. I get a maximum of 1500 dollars every year. I've only used 25 dollars thus far. But I wanted to know if I can use the remainder of my insurance to get these teeth pull. They only pay 80 percent but I want to use it all. The total cost is 1710 dollars. I would call Metlife but they're close on the weekend and my appointment is Monday mourning.
--------------------
That might qualify as an out-patient surgical procedure. It isn't covered under dental on my plan, but is covered as out-patient surgery.

A question about dental insurance?

I need to find Dental insurance and i have no idea where to go or what to look for. I know im gonna need to go to the dentist soon. Im 21 and my wisdom teeth are giving me trouble. I want something thats affordable too. I really need help and opinions
--------------------
If you are low income or no income you can get this type of insurance called Medicaid. This type of insurance will cover all you doctor expenses. I just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled friday and it is very painful to the point I wish I wouldn't have got them pulled. So be sure you really need them pulled, when you see the doctor make sure its very necessary to get them pulled. As far as Medicaid visit your state website for example mine is (Michigan.gov) and they will tell you all about Medicaid and how to apply.

Any suggestions on a dental plan or individual health insurance pIan?

I live in Texas, I'm 26, homemaker. I need to see the dentist desperately and after calling around, I realize it's going to get pretty expensive. I would also like to see an orthodontist & any other "general" benefits that I could get, I would definitely use. Any suggestions? I'm in pain!
--------------------
A good dental plan will provide you with more benefits than dental insurance and usually covers more procedures. I found my dental plan at Dentalplans.com and I'm very happy with it. All you have to do is type in your zip code to find a participating dentist in your area. Plans start at about $79.95 but you can save hundreds of dollars a year (or more depending on how much work you need done). There's a review at http://www.dentalplansreview.com

dental insurance in hamilton ontario?

i am moving to canada in a few months and dental work done i need a bridge in the front "hockey" and a root canal so i need good dental insurance so i know canadan has a national health care but they do not cover dental as far as i know.. is any part covered? i am moving to "Hamilton Ontario" so i need some info on the best dental insurance you can get cost and from who.... any help wold be great.. thanks
--------------------
Dentistry is not socialized in Canada. If you are moving from anywhere except the US, you will find dentistry expensive, but good, in Canada. Dental insurance is usually any employee benefit, so your best bet is to get a job that includes dental insurance. Private dental insurance plans are available, but are relatively expensive and have exclusion periods. Many plans will not cover a bridge unless you lost the teeth during the life of the dental plan.

Dental Insurance needed?

"The Dental Care Advantage discount program provides members with savings of 20% to 55%* on most dental care services, including Orthodontics & Cosmetics." Is this true? or just a trap? Currently I'm looking for a dental insurance, I wanted to have my teeth exam/diagnose etc, then braces. What would be a reliable/suitable dental insurance/plan for an individual? Thanks.
--------------------
OK, this is a PLAN. There's no regulatory authority, and the 'catch' is, most providers won't accept it. I haven't ever seen a private dental plan that pays out more than it costs.

Need to find cheap Dental Insurance?

Looking for cheap Dental Insurance for my little Bro in Olympia/Lacey Wa or Tacoma. Still looking on google for some...
--------------------
Dental insurance isn't that expensive to begin with. Even the higher priced plans seldom will pay out more than you pay in because of the waiting periods and annual maximums. You should check out a dental school. There is one at the University of Washington. You can find their website here: http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Den…

Good dental insurance?

I am looking for a good, yet inexpensive dental insurance company...Any suggestions? I live in cali, if it matters
--------------------
You have five options with dental. 1. Go without insurance. If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don't need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam and even an occasional filling will cost you less without insurance. 2. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you. You can find one here: http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Den… 3. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you're paying 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $919. With insurance you pay $460 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans. 4. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $919. With discount plans you pay around $827. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes… concerning these plans. 5. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $919. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

Is There an Affordable Dental Insurance Plan Available??

I would like to have my teeth worked on however I do not have dental insurance, are there any good ones?
--------------------
there are some plans, you have to weigh the cost of the monthly premium aagainst what it pays for. A lot of the policies are worded-" pays 100% of cleanings and preventive-" and then gives you a 80%for fillings, perio work and extractons, 50% for crowns and bridges and dentures. You must ask questions! 100% of what they allow may be only $30 of your $240 cleaningYour part then becomes the remaining 210 and you paid a premium to the insurance company. A lot of individual policies also have a year waiting period or longer for anything other than a cleaning. Some times it is a really good idea to look for a loan that will pay the dentist in full- Care Credit is online and you apply for a credit card that can be used at participating medical. dental, eye docotr etc. I am sure they are other companies as well, and your dentist may have just one he works with , so call ahead. Group insurnance is usually the best through work place for benefits, but even that can get tricky with going to the right provider( a dentist who has agreed to do the work for the allowance fee of the insurance company.. ) If money is an issue always ask for a predetrimination from the dentists. You can call the customer service number yourself on your policy and give them the insurance codes and find out if you are going to owe a ton or not for procedures. Their are sometimes clinics available that do work for a sliding fee- just ask any office you call, or ask your church if they have a connection to a dentist or clinic.

Best dental insurance in Central California?

Anyone know of a good individual dental plan for someone in Central CA? Looking for one good prices on dental procedures (implants, root canals, fillings) good yearly rate.. Thanks
--------------------
I live in central Ca myself and signed up for dental benefits with the company below. Its not insurance. It cost me $19.95 for my entire family and they saves us up to 80% on our dental work. You also get free vision, free prescription and free chiropractic care with your dental. I broke a tooth a few weeks ago and it saved me a lot of money. I would look into them. There are no waiting periods of paper work to feel out...thats one thing I liked about them. Good luck to you

i'm having trouble deciphering my dental insurance claim...?

i received an insurance claim for a dental procedure and having trouble figuring out how much i have to pay. amount claimed $1,021 amount allowed $ 400 deduct applied $ 50 patient resp $ 120 amount paid $ 120 can someone please explain what each line means? thank you
--------------------
It's not a ponzi scheme. And to the dentist who hates insurance companies: yeah, if people didn't have dental insurance, they wouldn't even go to the dentist to begin with: 60% of all dental patients have insurance. This more than likely looks like the dentist belongs to a network and the CLAIMED fee isn't what the dental insurance company is going to pay him. Looks like you had a major procedure( I'm guessing crown) and normally the dentist charges 1021, but he agreed to a lower fee to belong to the insurance company's network. Amount allowed is, I'M GUESSING around 50% of the actual amount the insurance company allows the dentist to charge, since most companies pay out major procedures at 50%... but your insurance plan may be different. Check your certificate of insurance to make sure. After you paid your deductible at the office, the dental office probably sent off the claim to the insurance company, and the insurance company came back with that payment. It is now the dental company's responsibility to send you the bill for the balance, if there is any at all. Call the insurance company's customer service line. Hope you don't have METLIFE... they suck.

does invisaline take delta dental insurance?

parents want to know, because i really don't want braises.
--------------------
Invisalign is a product offered by independent dentists, much like a certain brand of tires offered by a local tire store. So you need to determine which dentists in your area offer the Invisalign product and also accept Delta Dental insurance. You may also need to determine if Delta Dental will pay for the Invisalign product line.

Individual Dental Insurance--Who provides it in Missouri?

PrimeStar(ind.)/GemStar(grp.) are a provider we've worked with in the past. Are there any other companies that provide benefits in the Missouri/Saint Louis area?
--------------------
If you call a health insurance broker in your area they will know who provides the best dental plan. In Virginia Anthem Blue Cross has the best dental plan that can be purchased separately. You should be aware 9 out of 10 people who call me for dental insurance are calling because they need dental work done. Unfortunately that's not the way it works. Most dental insurance will only cover cleanings for the first 6 months, basic work after 12 months major work after 18 months. If you need work now your best bet is a discount plan and you can find one here. http://www.dentalplans.com/ Before you sign up you should use their search option to find a dentist that takes the plan and price out the work you need done.

I'm 19 years old, no dental insurance and bad cavity no clue what to do.?

Hi, I just turned 19 four months ago and have never had a job, but plan on getting one this summer to help pay for college books etc. That being said, I have two cavities on the upper part on each side of my jaw. One of them hurts alot when I try to go to sleep at night. Now I can only eat on one side of my mouth, but I don't want the cavity that doesn't hurt to get worse. I haven't been to the dentist in about 10 years and don't have dental insurance any more. Since I don't have a job I don't think I could get insurance. Even if I just got a job, i'd propably have to wait for insurance. I would like to get my tooth fixed as soon as possible so it doesn't get worse. I still live with my father and rarely ask him for any money because i'm 19 and would feel embarrased too, but am willing to ask for some money for my teeth. I would like to save as much money as possible to get the one painful tooth fixed, and pay my father back as soon as i get a job. Should I get a dental plan? What are my other options to save on money when going to the dentest. Also I would like to know some good tooth pain medicine to help me sleep at at night, and does Dent's toothache gum (that old time red gum you fill a cavity with) work? Thank you for taking time to read this. I know it's a lot, but is greatly appreciated. I really don't know what to do.
--------------------
Oh you poor sweet thing! I certainly pitty you. I'm 30 and I had a cavity last winter that hurt worse than giving birth. no kidding. First, lets address the pain. Use anbesol or orajel liquid toothache relief. It's in the dental care aisle. I went through 3 bottles of this once. The pain was horrible. I shudder thinking about it. Get a whole bunch of Q-tips for application ease. Then take 2 Aleve before you go to bed. This should be considered a temporary fix. Second, call your local department of jobs and family services or the United Way. They may have a "211" program set up in your area. (211 is the number to dial when in a social crisis). They (the United Way) will be able to link you up with local clinics or dentist who provide services to people without access to insurance at a discounted rate. Some offer 50% discounts. Third, Daddy love you hun. I'm sure he's had a toothache in his day. If he's anything like me, he never wants to see his child suffer the pain of a toothache. Tell him what's going on. I'm sure he'll help. I hope you feel better. Good luck!

Discount dental insurance?

Hello, I am looking into purchasing discount dental insurance for 20 a month for me and my husband. Thing is we need ALOT done. He needs 3 root canals, deep cleaning and a few cavities, i need 6 cavities and a deep cleaning. We only have about 100 a week left over after bills and need to figure something out? Does anyone have any expierence with this? I went on the site and found dentists in my area and how much things cost if you go to that dentist w/ this plan, and things are pretty cheap, but how do i know thats real, and how do i ask for a "exam" and an estimate? is that possible to both go in and get the free exam and xrays for new patients and then ask for an estimate w/ this insurance and let them get back to me? i really have no clue how to go about this. We really need this stuff done.
--------------------
First, relax! Most dental problems are not emergencies. So you can calmly look at your options and decide what is best for you. Read on... Most employers provide some kind of dental cover for their employees. Dental Insurance, dental reimbursement plans, group plans etc. are some of types of dental cover provided by employers. If you have one of these then most of your dental costs will be covered under them and you need to pay only a percentage of the costs. I assume you and your husband DO NOT have any of these types of dental cover. The cheapest option for you right now is to find a dental school near you and get registered there. The students at the dental school are always in need of patients to learn their craft. So, find out if they are willing to take you as patients. You will be worked on by student dentists and the outcome may not be great but you can expect reasonable amount of care as they will be supervised by their teachers. But if you want good quality dental care then an option you can explore is getting dental discount plans - these are not dental insurance remember - they are kind of discount clubs. The company offering the discount dental plan negotiates a deal with dentists around the country to offer their dental services at lower costs then it would normally cost. The whole thing is upfront. That is you know how much you have to pay for your dental treatment. For example: Here's a sample Actual You Pay Root Canal Treatment - Front Tooth $542 $336 Root Canal Treatment - Bicuspid $646 $403 Root Canal Treatment - Molar $829 $491 What you could do is save $100 left every week and after you have accumulated say 400 dollars at the end of month get one root canal treated. That way at the end of the year you could get most of dental treatment done. What you can also do is visit the dentists around your area and get an estimate for the overall dental treatment for both of you. You could outline your position to them and ask them to give you an overall plan so you can plan your treatment over the course of a year or two. Most dental treatments are not an emergency so you can spread out your costs over a year or two. Ask your dentist to priortize your treatment needs. That way you will be able to get the most needed treatment first. I know you can't put all your money into getting dental treatment alone. Several other emergencies will crop up claiming your savings. But don't worry things will work out with a little bit of planning and care. Try a combination of dental school and discount dental insurance to make the most of what you have. All the best!

United Healthcare Insurance/Dental?

I just started using dental insurance with United Healthcare. I need 2 of my wisdom teeth cut out, under Frequency Limitations it says 1 per lifetime. So, does that mean they will only pay for 1 of them to be extracted during my lifetime????? I am a little confused. Also, does anyone else have this plan? Do you have to pay for all cost out of pocket and then file a claim?
--------------------
"Once per lifetime" means one numeric tooth. For example, if tooth #1 has to be extracted the insurance company will pay just once for this particular tooth. Sounds weird, I know, but that's how insurance policies work. In regards to the payments it really depends on the dental office. If dental office is a participating provider, you don't have to file any claims. The office will file the claim for you. There can be a co-payment for surgical procedure. Approximately 20%, but some offices don't ask patients to co-pay.
