California Delta Dental Insurance thru Costco?

Does any one know if this plan covers adult orthodontics. They advertise the insurance on the costco website but the way it is written it is hard to understand. Does anyone know?
--------------------
Yes - the Costco/Delta Dental plan covers some adult orthodontia. If you go to www.deltadentalins.com/plans_costco, you will see that an enrollee copayment of $2,700 is required for services that typically cost in the range of $3,600 to $5,200. The covered services are described as "Comprehensive orthodontic treatment of the adult dentition – adults, including dependent adult children covered as full-time students." And as the plan is an HMO-type program, you will have to select a DeltaCare dentist to provide these services - not just any orthodontist you might choose.

i am looking for a good health and dental insurance plan can n e one help?

i am needing to get a good but cheap healthcare plan but more than n e thing i need a better dental plan for my daughter. she is five and she is missing two of her teeth wich the dentist says will never come in and she has already been told that as soon as she looses all of her baby teeth she will have to have braces and then dental implants where the two teeth are missing. so we need some really good insurance because this is going to cost me a fortune if not.
--------------------
I sympathise with your daughter's situation. The best dental plan for implants and braces is eHealthPlus. You will save between 25%-60%. Check it out. Make sure you have dentists near by that participate.

Dental Insurance? Does anyone know of any good plans?

i need dental insurance that covers pre-existing cavitives where you dont have to wait forever (6 months or less) before you can have them fixed. the cheaper the better. Thanks for your help
--------------------
Most people will wait until they need something done so all dental insurance (except some groups) have waiting periods. You have four options with dental. 1. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you. 2. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per person per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 6 months for minor work such as fillings and you'd pay 20% of the charges; and 18 months for major work and you'd pay 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for one white filling in my area is $121. With insurance you pay $25 after paying 6 months of premium (around $300 to $360). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans. 3. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for one white filling in my area is $121. With discount plans you pay around $109. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes… concerning these plans. 4. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month for individuals. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for one white filling in my area is $121. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $48. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered. You'll have to do the math for yourself to see which plan is better.

Does the USJA insurance cover dental?

I'm in USJA and I had a class today. Needless to say I chipped my tooth. Will my USJA insurance cover for a filling? (It's too late to call them and I'm panicking a bit because otherwise I don't have any health/dental insurance to pay for it.)
--------------------
I can't find any copies of my old documents, so I'm not 100% sure whether they would cover it or not, but you'll probably be stuck paying for it regardless. The USJA Insurance policy has a $2500 deductable. This means that they won't cover jack until you pay $2500 out of your own pocket first, and getting your tooth fixed won't cost nearly that much.

Is there any kind of help for people who don't have dental plans or insurance??? or organizations?

I mean my wife hast two fractured teeth and she can't stand the pain,Every single day she crys about the painf. We don't have any money to go to like a dental clinic and we can't afford any dental insurance, somebody please help me I don't know what to do.
--------------------
you can find a dentist who is very generous and sometimes they can put you on a payment plan, if that office does that sort of thing, and you can pay them whatever a month or however you set it up, so i would recommend searching for dentist and calling them all and telling the office manager or maybe even the dentist your situation and they might be able to help you out.

Dental implants w/metlife insurance..in the NY Manhattan area or anywhere else?

Hi to all! Quick question. Would anyone happen to have any info on a dentist(s) who do implants and accepts metlife dental insurance in the NYC area? Having trouble locating one and i need a loooot of work done. all helpful answers appreciated . thanks a lot.
--------------------
Hello to you, too! :) Dental implants are not a covered expense with insurance companies, Met Life included. Log on to MetLife and you should be able to find a participating dentist in your area...this will at least help with the 'regular' work you need. Good luck~

Wisdom teeth removal, dental or health insurance?

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for health insurance and Metlife for dental. I have one wisdom tooth thats grown in and three that haven't. I'm not sure if i have the three surgically remove, if that would be covered under my dental or health insurance. Does anyone know?
--------------------
The claim for the extractions will be sent to Met Life first.. if the wisdom teeth are what's called 'boney impactions', then the claim can be sent to BC/BS for coordination of benefits... the 'boney impactions' are covered under your medical insurance.... Best of luck~

Why is it so hard to get medical and dental services covered by insurance?

It seems like every time I need something done, a filling, a blood test, whatever, I have to jump through hoops to get things covered by insurance. I mean, if I didn't need it, the doctor would not be recommending it, right? I am so tired of being the go-between for doctors and health insurance companies. I spend days just calling back and forth, why can't they just communicate and cover the things I need? I pay $300 a month for health insurance!

The advent of managed care has been the bane of existence for patients and medical professionals alike for the past several years. Unfortunately, it's likely here to stay.

One place you can check is thru the county health dept to see if they offer free dental clinics. You can also check thru a Dental School if one is close by because they also offer services to help those that have no dental insurance.
