Are 100% of Americans insured with medical/dental insurance?

Bet not and do they pay their medical bills? NOOOOOOOOO!!!
--------------------
45 million people are without access to affordable health care in this country and that is the shame of the greedy capitalist. So afraid that they might have to pay taxes that they cannot look far enough ahead to see that they are just losing their job away from raising that number. I am one of those 45 million, and it sucks.

Health Insurance covering the cost of braces?

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there that has had health insurance cover their braces. My husband is major need of teeth repair, and he has broken through the upper lip on both side from different things. - - - he's dental insurance will cover 1/2 of it, i was just wondering in health insurance ever considered covering braces. He has two different dental plans, if health insurance doesn't cover it, could the other plan (through military) cover the other 1/2? thanks for any answers~

See if the health insurance will pay for it, IF IT IS medically required (dr authorizes it, as for his physical well being/necessary)

Question about which insurance should be billed?

My husband had a surgical procedure to remove a malignant tumor on the floor of his mouth. During this procedure his oral surgeon worked with the ENT surgeon and removed all his teeth as a precaution and part of his medical treatment. We learned that his dental insurance, rather than major medical, was billed for this service, maxing out the dental benefits for that year, and leaving us with a rather large bill from the oral surgeon. My question is should the oral surgeon have submitted this to the major medical insurance, as it was a medically necessary procedure that occurred during a surgery? The oral surgeon actually billed for each tooth removed as if it were a separate office call for each extraction, close to $150 per tooth. Another question, it has been over a year since this operation and billing, can I still ask the oral surgeon to request payment from the major medical insurance? Or am I stuck since I waited so long to take action on it? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
--------------------
Most services that are considered 'medical' should go to the medical insurance first and dental would apply as secondary (if at all). Sometimes they will cover all but the tooth removal. It depends on the exclusions of the plan. Has it been too long? Depends again on the exclusions of your insurance plan. You should contact your customer service and see what their timely filing guidelines are. Some have 1 year, 2 years or even specific months. Also, you can ask that because it was was sent into the Dental, if that could be considered timely filing (some plans may allow a filing with another insurance company proof of timely filing).

Will My Medical Insurance Cover Tooth Extraction?

I am having to have several teeth pulled, including my four wisdom teeth. Several of the teeth have become impacted. Will my medical insurance (Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota) cover any of this or is this something that only dental insurance covers?

There should be a phone number on your card. Call it and get the information from the right source.

Does anyone know how I can get private health insurance?

I can purchase it through work but I was told to shop around a bit. I need medical insurance and dental would be nice. Anyone know of any websites?
--------------------
Contact a local independent agent. If you want maternity, chances are the group plan will be better. However, depending on the average age and medical conditions of the group, you may be able to cut the cost in half by going out on your own. That will vary from state to state and group to group also. A local agent can help you. Get the info on the group plan (outline of coverage) and the cost so they can see what they can do for you on an individual plan that is comparable to the group plan. You are making a wise choice by checking out your options. Keep in mind that the group plan is most likely paid in part by your employer. Compare what your actual costs will be.

As far as health insurance is it best to get the highest or lowest deductible.?

I trying to apply for health insurance but i can't find anybody that covers everything as far as dental and life insurance for a reasonable price.I also want to know if it's best to get the highes deuctible or the lowest ar far as health insurance. And does anybody know any good providers?
--------------------
Apply for health care insurance separately from dental insurance to get the best deal. There is no such thing as a combination health insurance/life insurance to my knowledge. If you are young and healthy, choose the high deductible plan because your premiums will be much less. Meanwhile, it's very important that you take the savings from the lower premiums and set these aside in a savings account just in case you need to pay the deductible. Check into a Health Savings Account (HSA). This is a tax-advantated savings account that you can use to pay the deductible. You must have a tax-qualified high deductible health care plan in order to have the HSA. Your contributions to the Health Savings Account give you a tax deduction, and your earnings are tax-free. You can also use the HSA to cover dental expenses, whether you eventually get dental insurance or not. If you are young and healthy and you take good care of your teeth, you may be better off just using the HSA to pay for your dental. However, one benefit of having dental insurance is that the insurance company negotiates a lower price with the dentist, and that will save you money. Regarding life insurance, apply with a highly rated company (you want them to be around for awhile) such as Metropolitan or New York Life. Choose "term" insurance for the lowest rates. The agent may try to convince you to choose whole life or universal life, which is just life insurance combined with an investment. If you have extra money to invest, keep that separate from your life insurance, and just choose term life insurance. Go for the longest term you can get - if you're young, that should be at least 20 or 30 years. Otherwise, you'll have to renew your term at a higher age, and your premiums will be rated to your age at that time.

Do I have to worry about the 63 days time limit for pre existing coditions for Dental plans

I recently left a job and my employeer warned me that I have 63 days to get an insurance policy otherwise pre-exisiting conditions clauses would kick in. So I diligently got my medical insurance. My question is how does Dental insurance work in this regard. Do most policies also have a 63 days no prexisting condition clause or do most have the usual "waiting period" regardless of the fact if you had insurance immediatly before, 63 days before or never before. I am trying to save some money and I had my teeth thoroughly checked right before I left my job, so I figure if it makes no difference why not wait at least 6 months until my next cleaning is due and THEN get dental insurance... But if it works the same way as Medical with the 63 days and pre exisitng condition issues and the health care crisis, maybe I should not risk it and get a policy ASAP. Any thoughts out there?

Yes you have to honour the time limit

Just moved to Greensboro, NC and have no insurance, and just got a job. Need dental work done bad.?

I have a chipped tooth on one of my two front teeth, and the partial has been on for 12 years. Needs to be fixed, it is turning a light shade of brown and decaying on the top corner. Willing to make payments! Want done ASAP!

Hi, i live just west of winston salem, near yadkinville and theres a dental clinic in yadkin county called WYO DENTAL CLINIC. Great people their. The only problem is they stay booked up! You have to call and ask the receptionist how long they are booked up. Tell her Melissa sent you!! I am having extensive work done there and i send both of my teenage kids there as well. We do not have dental insurance and they charge by a sliding scale fee, or they use to. I guess its still the same way. Hope this helps! Just don't miss your appointment!!!!!!

Will insurance still cover my braces?

I'm 18, just got braces and next year around June I plan to move a few states away to my mother's house. I live with my dad right now and his dental insurance covered what I believe the full amount for my braces. Once I move, will the insurance from my dad still cover the expenses of my monthly brace tightening? or will I have to pay for that myself?
--------------------
Honestly, you have to call your insurance provider. None of us know who you're provider is, and what their rules/regulations are. I don't see why they wouldn't. You're just moving... Ton's of people move. But usually, when you're 18, you're no longer covered under your parents insurance... At least where I live. Note: If your braces are already paid for at your orthodontist, than you will have a problem. You will have to pay your new orthodontist each month for tightening. I don't know how much it is where you live, because I don't know where you live, where you're moving to or your orthodontist.

I need a bridge for 1 of my teeth.Should I do it under a DHMO or a PPO plan under CIGNA dental insurance?

The DHMO plan has horrible dentists very far from me , but it costs only $800 vs a PPO plan which has great dentists close to me but it would cost $1,500 probably. What should I do? i cannot change to a PPO plan until next year.
--------------------
Remember you get what you pay for. an old dentist i knew once said "you can hide a multitude of sins in someone's mouth" I'd go to the "good" dentists and pay out of pocket, work overtime, do whatever it took. there is nothing more miserable than bad dental work and a toothache. There is a reason those people have the HMO plans, they can't get patients any other way!

Seeing a dermatologist without insurance for my acne ?

I'm just interested in pricing for a dermatologist to check out my skin and possibly prescribe something. I have no insurance, only dental.
--------------------
well what i suggest would be knowing the office visit could be possibly between 80 to 300 dollars be prepared. Do understand every office is different i would call and ask them what the office visit would cost. Then usually a physician would know you are self pay and help you out with samples.

At what age should a person purchase Health/Dental Insurance?

I am a college educated professional who works within my very own corporation. As fabulous as that sounds It is pretty much ran by myself and one other member. I am young. In my early twenties and am trying to manage my life properly. I own real estate so I even have a will set up.....I do try to cut back on extra expenses whenver possible.....although I do have a passion for fashion.........now with all this un-needed information............what do you think a proper age would be to set up insurance for myself? I am unmarried....with no children. Do not plan on having any either. I do have minor problems such as problems in my lower back, knee, occassional cavities etc. Should I sign up? is this a waste of my money?????? ALSO: If I did have any medical problems..........that were costly......IE: 100,000.00----------IF i HHHHHHHHHHHAD TO...I could have it covered.......................... I believe they say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... Please Help :)
--------------------
the best time for one to obtain health insurance is when you are young and have good health. it will be easy to get approved, the bills for the insurance is low... i would keep the insurance and maintain it.. once a person gets older and less healthy, the cost goes sky high and has limitations. i would also get life insurance when the bill is low. you will be glad to have it when you are older 50 plus.

Is there any way I can get dental work done in Iowa with no income or dental insurance?

I haven't worked for the past year. The local low-income dental clinic has been giving me the run around for a few months now. They need proof that I haven't worked for the past year, but the IRS and Social Security can't give me anything proving this until June or July at the earliest. The dental clinic is now telling me that I have to file taxes saying I didn't work. Then I have to wait for the IRS to send me back something saying they agree I didn't work. I've been missing a filling that is 1/3 of my tooth since October and now it's starting to hurt all the time. So how can I get this taken care of if the local low-income clinic won't help me?
--------------------
If there is a college with a dental school nearby you can get treatment for your tooth there without any paperwork or income qualifictions. The dental schools will take everyone without any qualifying and no or almost no charge. Make some calls and see what you can find out. Here is a link for the University of Iowa Dental School for patients: http://www.dentistry.uiowa.edu/public/pa…

What health insurance is recommended for a single dad with 3 kids, with a budget but have decent coverage?

I am a single father of 3 kids and looking for health/dental/vision insurance for my family. We don't really go to the doctor as much but still want decent coverage in case I need to do so. Any ideas? Am based in Southern California.
--------------------
One through your employer. You can't get vision and dental that doesn't cost more than it pays, except through an employer group policy. Otherwise, just go to your local agent, ask them to give you a couple quotes on a private policy.

Is my dental problem still considered cosmetic, or will my insurance pay or it? Or are they straightening?

I have fangs, basically. When I was a teenager they said they couldn't fix it for free because it was considered cosmetic. This week the left fang has started stabbing my lip in my sleep and it hurts a little- it's swollen. I'm 23. is it possible they are just straightening themselves out now?
--------------------
maybe you medical insur will pick it up? Bc it is stabbing your cheek?
