How much does dental insurance cost?

My roommate has a major problem. Her wisdom teeth are coming in and she has no dental insurance. She is in extreme pain. Her whole head throbs with pain. What are her options? About how much is dental insurance per month? (not provided by an employer)
--------------------
it varies from company to company n if its a pre existing condition it might not be covered, also if she has health insurance have her check with them sometimes wisdom teeth are covered by health insurance. I didn't have dental insurance but my health insurance company actually covered me getting my wisdom teeth extracted , I just by chance called them up and they said it was covered and I had a HMO to boot which isn't the best so needless to say I was surprised , if she cant purchase dental insurance see if she can find an oral surgeon who will remove them and they may have a payment plan option.

Getting braces, need some info about dental clinics and dental insurance?

Hello, I am getting braces soon, I live in Seattle, WA. I would like to find out a clinic that does braces it doesn't have to be at Seattle, I practically can go far distances from Seattle. Could anyone recommend me a dental place or clinic to get my braces and an appropriate and good insurance for that clinic that would work. Could someone explain to me how all this works, because I've got no clue what and where.
--------------------
I was quoted $4500 for mine, But only paid $2200 because of this wonderful plan I have. Then worked out a payment plan with the orthodontist to make it affordable for me. I would encourage you to visit this great site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago and they have saved me thousands of dollars on all services since.. From extractions , xrays, exams, fillings, cleanings, and even my braces. Though prices may vary since I live in Texas, but the savings are still incredible. They even had my affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and hope this helps.

What is the best dental insurance to have if i want "lumineers by cerinate?"?

i want 6 teeth redone with Lumineers by cerinate" they are like veneers but better. Their is dental insurance than dental discount programs too. What is a better choice for me ?
--------------------
This treatment is considered - cosmetic service so it's not covered by any insurance. You can get financed by a plan that works with your dental office. Ask them if they use one and you can pay the finance company in monthly payments.

Can I get my wisdom teeth pulled right after getting dental insurance?

We are in transition and are having to switch all of our insurance. All of a sudden my wisdom tooth has started hurting and almost unbearably. So will I be paying out of pocket anyway, or right after I get dental insurance can I set an appointment for my wisdom teeth. How does that work and also does anyone know of good dental insurance...thanks

I was wondering if I would still have dental insurance?

I am currently in school and have been for 4 years. My dad has been paying out of pocket to get my teeth cleaned and what not, but he doesnt quite understand why I dont have dental insurance and I am in college. I just need to know what i should do?
--------------------
Dental insurance is DIFFERENT from regular insurance. He has to ask his dental insurance what age they cover up to. My parents had one that covered me until 18 and then my dad's company switched plans and I was later covered up til age 23. Many cover only to 18 or 23. Doesnt matter if you are in school only, your age also matters to dental insurance companies. Try visiting a dental hygiene school or dental college for cheaper cleanings. My dental hygiene school had its own professional clinic and it was 25 dollars for a cleaning AND xrays at no additional cost! (this is in massachusetts). It takes several hours / appointments but you get the most thorough exam and cleaning ever at a low cost. Perfect for students and retired people. Anyone with time. www.ada.org to find dental hygiene colleges or dental colleges in your state (call dental hygiene schools first to ask if they have a public clinic).

What are some good dental insurance?

I recently lost my job and with it our dental insurance. We are looking for some economical options.

I would strongly encourage you to visit this great site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago and they have saved me thousands of dollars on all of my dental services. From root canals, extractions, crowns, fillings, xrays...etc. Even my braces had great coverage. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. What dental insurance covers more and active immediately?

I really need to fix my teeth, root canal and fillings. Any good dental insurance plans?
--------------------
Delta and Blue Cross are good but each employer can pick and chose what is covered and how much. For instance, Cleanings, oral exams and x-rays may be covered at 100% but crowns only covered at 50%. The insurance company negotiates a price/coverage with each employer. They also decide when you are eligible. And watch out for the missing tooth clause: if the tooth is already missing they don't have to replace it.

What is the best non-employer dental insurance???

I need dental insurance. None is available through our employer. I have been looking at some on the internet, but I don't want to get scammed. What is the best, and cheapest dental insurance that I can get? Are there any plans that combine dental and medical insurance??? Thanks.
--------------------
I used to have Careington. It wasn't insurance but a discount plan. I paid $75 per year and got big discounts on major work like root canals and fillings. If you just need cleaning or xrays or an exam, watch the mail for coupons, check the phone book or check online for free stuff. Many new offices offer free exams, xrays and cleanings for new customers, in order to build up their client base.

How can someone find out if they have dental insurance.?

My grandmother says she has dental insurance but is not sure of the name of the company she is with. Is there a way to find out if she has insurance?
--------------------
If you can't find her insurance card in her wallet or the policy in her papers--perhaps check with her DDS to see what they have on file.

Are cosmetic dental services such as teeth whitening covered by most dental insurance plans?

Other examples might be porcelain veneers, dental implants and bonding. Are these normally covered by regular medical/dental insurance plans provided by employers?
--------------------
Coverage through employment sometimes has the coverage your looking for, depending on the insurance company, package and deductibles. I have insurance and another plan on the link below to cover what my insurance did not. Weather I would encourage you to visit this website. www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up with them online over 3 years ago. They have helped me save thousands of dollars from extractions, root canals, cleanings. I know for a fact that all services are included especially orthodontics and cosmetic surgery for the entire family in the benefits. They had my membership active in 2 hours and was able to use the same day. I am very thankful that I found them. Check to see if they are in your area. Good Luck. Hope this helps

Is it really cheaper to have dental insurance vs. PAYING OUT OF POCKET?

Is dental insurance good to have ?
--------------------
Dental insurance is much better. An extraction can cost $100 or more. A root canal can cost upwards of $1,000. Even a checkup and a cleaning can run over $100. Here's a website that can give you an idea of how much dental procedures cost: http://www.bracesinfo.com/dentalcosts/

Temporary dental insurance? Can you buy dental insurance to take care of your teeth, then just dump it?

I know, this could come off morally wrong, but i think we can all agree the price of the dentist with or without insurance can be outrageous. I want to get dental insurance so I can have my teeth cleaned, x-rays, etc. then cancel that insurance after a month..is this possible? I'm 23, if that matters in any way -
--------------------
If you don't want to get insurance you can also get dental benefits that provide up to 80% discounts on dental services. Check out the following website. They provide discounts on all dental services as well as cosmetic work and braces. The prices are great and start at 14.95 for an individual per month and 19.95 for a household per month. They are much cheaper than insurance and if you don't like it you can cancel it anytime. www.EveryOneBenefits.com/Spoage

Is Delta Dental a good dental insurance company to join? or can you recommend a good one for me?

im looking for dental insurance for myself that would cover crowns in PA. i do not know what company is the best.
--------------------
It is not the insurance company that you need to be concerned with, but the PLAN. Each insurance company has many different plans to choose from. Be sure to look over each plan being offered to you before you make a decision on which one to buy. See how much they cover for crowns, and whether or not there is a waiting period for them. Often times, insurance companies have a waiting period for crowns that you must satisfy before they will pay anything towards them. As far as Delta Dental being a good insurance company, they can be, but they also restrict dentists a lot and many good dentists are getting very fed up with Delta. This is happening nationwide.

What dental insurance should I get?

Should I put my newborn daughther on dental and vision insurance?

Obviously, when she is born in 2 weeks I plan on adding her to my health insurance. However, it seems unwarranted to add her to vision and dental right away. Any thoughts? Also, if not right away, when would you add a new child to vision and dental insurance? Thanks in advance!
--------------------
Babies don't develop 20/20 vision until they are 2, and before that, the pediatrician can do any necessary checks. Dental insurance isn't necessary, she doesn't have any teeth. I would add them around 2 years of age.

Help! I have a broken tooth and i cant afford dental insurance right now. What can i do?

It hasn't gotten to the point of severe pain. But it is chipping more and more with the stuff i eat. I have this temp fill that i bought in it but it doesn't hold long. I have medical insurance but not dental. I cant afford the dental. Any suggestions?
--------------------
There is no way around it - borrow money, use your credit cards, whatever - and go to the dentist take care of it. Believe me, you will pay many many times over what you have to pay now if you let the tooth break further. If it gets destroyed too bad, you will have to pay about $1000 extra to have it extracted, and then $2-$3K more for a replacement tooth; and if you wait on those, you will pay thousands and thousands and thousands more for the surrounding teeth and gum treatment. Let it be your consolation that a lot of dental insurance policies are so crappy anyhow, they only cover half and only up to a $1000 maximum - so a broken tooth is still extremely expensive. Think about this - if your car is broken down, you HAVE to fix it or you can't go to work. Well, this mouth of yours is like that, too.

Who has the best private dental insurance?

Group insurance is high, and yet they are better then private, I just cant afford it. I would like to find a coverage that was relatively cheaper, that will cover pre exst. cond. and somewhat PPO. IS there such a dental plan out there?

Is the anyway possible, That I can see a dentist without dental insurance?

Unfortunately I do not have dental insurance, and as of right now, I cant afford it. But my teeth are in TERRIBLE condition!!! Its gotten SOO bad that I cannot eat, if I bite down on anything, I get this excruciating pain, that makes me sick to my stomach. I'm scared that I might have gum disease. What can I do to see a dentist without ending up with a multi-thousand dollar bill? Thank you!
--------------------
You can definitely see a dentist without insurnace. You can either go and work out a payment plan with a local dentist, or you can visit your local DES (Department of Economic Security) office and ask them what they have to offer as far as state-provided insurance...at no cost to you. They should be able to help you. Good luck!

Can someone teach me a little about dental insurance?

I'm 20 years old and just got back from the dentist for the first time since I was 12. It turns out I have 7 cavities that need to be filled and need 2 teeth pulled. This would be upwards to $2,000 without dental insurance. What is preventing me from getting dental insurance now? There must be something stopping me, right? I don't know how any of this works. I'm just hoping there's a cheaper way to fix my teeth. Thanks for your help in advance.
--------------------
you can sign up with a dental insurance plan no problem. You're young healthy person it probably won't cost you too much, maybe like $50/month. Depending on which kind of plan you get. For dental I would stay away from DMO/HMO and go with the PPO. There is usually a waiting period for any major work, like 3 months or up to a year. Simple cavities and fillings aren't major. You'll have to pay co-pay, deductibles(usually not that much for fillings and extractions). Ask your dentist which insurance he is a contracted provider and sign up for that. They usually charge less because they've agreed to a fee in return for a larger number of patients. REMEMBER, insurance companies is not your friend. They're big corporations, big busineeses that's out there to make money off you and the dentist. "Insurance" is not even a right word for such practice, it really should be called a "benefit plan". Why does health care cost so much in the US? because of them lawyers. In the US people love to sue, any chance they get. And the ratio of lawyers to doctors is like what, 10:1? plus those ambulance chasers. No wonder doctors have to raise fee in order to pay for their malpractice insurance premiums. And hospitals have to hire more staff to document all the procedures, go through unnecessary tests(ordered by doctors fearing the lawyers). So lawyers is the reason why you have to pay so much for health care in the US. Good luck.
