Are my wisdom teeth causing further problems?

My wisdom teeth have been growing in for quite some time, but as I don't have health/dental insurance coverage, I can't get them taken out yet. Right now they are in a growing phase, and everytime this happens, about every few months, my jaw seems to grind and pop when I chew or talk. Are my teeth messing up my jaw alignment? What is going on here?
--------------------
I just had my wisdoms taken out 2 weeks ago and it was worth it. Mine were doing the same thing and having them gone has made a huge awesome difference. Like you, I don't have dental coverage and it costed us $1500. It would have been more but we talked to some places and they found appropriate ways for us to save money. You could always take out a loan to pay for it. Having them out is going to make a difference when a year from now you're in serious pain because you didn't have them taken out earlier. Seriously the earlier the better. Just get it over with !

Cracked Molar, no insurance. Any advice would be appreciated.?

Molar cracked, no insurance. Any advice please? I went to a dentist and she said I needed to have root planing/scaling, a root canal and a crown put in on my bottom left molar which is cracked off. Total cost would be around $4,000. I just got a new job so my dental wont kick it for another 3 months or so but the pain is starting to be unbearable I think it is infected as the tooth is very sensitive to the touch and it has a pulsing pain that is keeping me from sleeping. Has any use the stuff on dentalplans.com? Like the GE Wellness or Aetna Dental Access? Will the dentist jack up the prices or treat me differently if i ask about them? Will most dental insurance even cover this kind of stuff on a newly started policy? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
--------------------
$4000 is too much. Find another dentist. Expect to pay around $1000 for a root canal and $800 for the crown (whole procedure and crown)

Is there anywhere where I can find inexpensive low cost dental providers / dentists in the DC area?

I am looking for inexpensive dentists in the Washington DC area. I do not have insurance, so I really can not afford the expense. As of now, I just need a cleaning, but potential more work may need to be done. If you have any advice on who I should see or where I should go, please let me know!
--------------------
I would encourage you to visit this great site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago now and they have saved me thousands on all services. From root canals, cleanings, xrays, exams...etc. All services are included in this very affordable plan. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. hope this helps and good luck.

I need to find an oral surgeon in Michigan that is not so expensive?

I have $1000 of dental insurance and need an oral surgeon to extract most of my teeth. I cannot afford to pay a lot more than my insurance covers. The last estimate I got was $3,500, please help, I have frequent toothaches and infections, I need my teeth out ASAP.

You need a supplemental plan that can help you right away (no waiting periods) and that has no annual limits. Couple of possibilities below.

Is it safe to use fluoride rinses more than once a day? Three times a day?

Just wondering, cuz I heard a someone once say that fluoride rinses can actually reverse cavities, if they are small enough. I don't have any dental insurance, so I have been using fluoride rinses 2 sometimes 3 times a day. I have always had perfect teeth, but I am just being cautious, since it might be a long time before I see a dentist again. Just want to know that it's safe, because the bottle only says "once a day for 1 min...no food or drink for 1/2hr"....but then a person I once talked to said that the flouride in those rinses are nothing more than what your toothpaste can do for you. I don't know what to believe. But I can't imagine that this will hurt me since I spit it out anyway....however, is it of any benefit? I was also under the impression that you didn't need flouride after the age of 18, but my dentist said that they only do that because most insurance only covers flouride for 18 and under.
--------------------
Using the fluoride that often wont hurt you because the amount of fluoride in the mouthwash is low. It is a little easier to get between your teeth than toothpaste, so you will still get some benefit, but you only need to do it once a day. As for the whole only once every 6 months, the fluoride you get at the dentist is WAY WAY stronger. It is something you can only get there, not even a perscription for what you would get at the dentist can be given. There are perscription fluorides available for about 20 a bottle, but if you do not have cavity prone teeth, you will be ok.

Dental Insurence for poor people?

I have a friend who works full time, but his employer does not offer dental insurance. He has serious dental issues and needs work done ASAP. right now he is suffering a severely painful absence. He has bad credit so he can't finance the work he needs done, he tried and has been turned down. I was looking up cheap dental insurance but haven't really had much luck with anything that will kick in soon. The ER will only give him antibiotics but he needs a root canal, and even if he can get the ER to pull this tooth, he still has much more work that needs to be done. I came across something called "True Care Dental Plans". It's not Insurance though, it's a plan for $13.95/month that will give you a discount on certain dentist who participate in the plan, but you have to pay the rest of the fee in full up front. Does anyone have any ideas of how i can get his teeth taken care of? Im afraid he'll end up with dentures by the Time he's 30! Also here's the link for the True Care site maybe someone can understand it more then me. http://truedentaldiscounts.com/pickaplan.asp?OVKEY=dental%20plans%20g&gclid=CLj_uezlyZwCFeFM5QodLD57JQ
--------------------
From my experience it's really hard to find an actual dental insurance plan unless its offered through a group such as your job. However you should look in to dental discount plans. Although they are not actual insurance plans they can still help you save a significant amount of money. i recently joined this plan : http://www.healthplansplus.net/dentalplus.html It has actually saved me a lot of money. Dental insurance is not offered through my job and I feel like this is the next best thing. I initially joined the plan because I wanted to get braces, but the Orthodontist quoted me over $5,000. I started looking into these plans and Ameriplan saved me over $2500.00. My braces only ended up being $2400.00. These planes cover a pretty wide range of services, but you have to go to a dentists that is contracted with the plan. The plan that I purchased through Ameriplan is only about $8.00 per month. It's proven itself worth up until now. You can also ask your dentist office if they know of any insurance plans or discount plans that they participate in that would be beneficial to you. You can also visit this website and it can provide you with a list of dental plans in your area that you can enroll in: http://www.dentalplans.com/ Most dental office will also work out a in-house payment arrangement with you in conjuction with any dental plan. Hope this helps : -) Source(s): http://www.dentalplans.com/ http://www.healthplansplus.net/dentalplus.html

what type of dental work is recommended for a chipped tooth and what is the cost for it?

i chipped my tooth on a piece of bacon at applebees the other day. I need to get it fixed. i don't know what something like this would cost. also does anyone know, if the companys insurance would cover this, since i filed a claim?
--------------------
Well ashley in my opinon, I dont think this is applebees fault. Unless it was a real supper hard peice of bacon. I of course am no expert on there insurance though.. If they pay for it great. small chips, and big breaks happen all the time with teeth. Some people come in and the whole side of their tooth is missing, and they said it broke off while they ate cake. Teeth will break no matter what your eating, if the tooth is bad. A simple chip is easy to fix. All you need is a composite filling. Composite is tooth colored. They will patch it up and you'll be good to go. These will usully run you about $ 60 - $80 depending on how many surfaces they have to fix.

I have Delta Dental. How Much will it cost to do a deep cleaning and take out my 2 top wisdom teeth?

It is a good insurance plan. I have a $3000 max per year plan, and I usually pay 20% of most procedures. Deep cleaning isn't covered 100%, is it?
--------------------
I always get my teeth descaled and polished when I go for a check up and the charge is £16. If you opt for a general anaesthetic when you get your wisdom teeth extracted, they will do it at the hospital and there is no charge for that. 00

Is $195.00 too much for a tooth extraction w/o insurance?

Per my first question about my front tooth being knocked loose had basically the same answer from others to "go to the dentist - now", I went and it has to be extracted - it cracked across the crown. But since I do not have dental insurance, they are charging me $195.00 for this tooth extraction. Sounds kinda pricey. Just wanted to know what others thought. Thanks!
--------------------
If you already have a dentist that you are comfortable with then go ahead and let him/her do the work. 195.00 is about right. If all you want is the extraction and you are looking to save a few more dollars, you may want to go to a dental school program and let one of the graduating students do it. From what you described, it is a simple extraction and can be done for about half of that at a dental school. This is a great option for teeth cleaning as well w/o insurance. Yes, they can and will administer pain meds for you. Good Luck!

What is the best health insurance to buy?

Of coarse it needs to be reasonably priced and must cover vision and dental.
--------------------
In order to get health, vision and dental you need to be on a group plan. If you are looking into individual insurance then you will need to pay for each thing separately. If you don't know what you are looking for or how insurance really works then contact a licensed agent in your area (you can find one by doing a search for health insurance agents). If you understand the basics of how insurance works then go to ehealthinsurance.com and that will break down several plans with what you're looking for by price.

How much does you medical insurance cost through your employer?

I am just curious. I am paying about 200 per month for medical and dental through my employer (coca cola). This is for the family plan which cover my wife and 2 kids with a 600 dollar deductible on medical. It has went up every year for the last 5 yrs.
--------------------
My husband works for Chase and we are expecting pretty soon and he only pays $90 every check! We only pay the copay (which is about 10-20 a visit) and once a 30 copay for my obgyn and we have not paid a dime since ( I have at least had 10 appointments in the last 4 months)! When the baby is born we don't have to pay for anything either!!! We have Aetna and it covers: Health, Vision, Dental, and any Prescriptions!!!!!

What if you dont have insurance to see a dentist and your teeth are loose?

I was diagnosed with perio when I was 19. I was told that it is hereditary. I had the surgery then and I will admit...I didnt floss much. I am now 27 and my teeth are loose. I am scared to lose them. What can I do..I dont have dental isurance and dont know what else to do. Is it really hereditary? I have two children and dont want them to get it
--------------------
Care Credit can finance your procedures at 0% interest for 12 to 18 months. I'd go see a periodontist right away! United health insurance has a dental insurance plan the covers dental but im not sure how much dental is covers, so you may want to call and check on it. (no waiting period either). Yes, in some rare cases, periodontal disease is hereditary, and if you were diagnosed at the early age of 19, then you more than likely got it from your genes. Be sure to take your children to the dentist regularly and be on top of them when it comes to brushing and flossing daily to help prevent them from getting it or if they end up getting it, with good oral hygiene habits they can prevent bone loss and tooth loss by keeping things as clean as possible. (Plaque is what causes perio disease so keeping your mouth as clean as possible helps prevent permanent destruction). There is no cure for perio disease. Good luck!

What are some good health insurance companies in CA for self employed people?

We mainly are looking at it for medical needs. Dental would be nice, but its not necessary. And vision isn't necessary at all.
--------------------
We live in California too, and have an Insurance through Costco (must be a member to get theirs), but it is excellent. Also has dental available too. Recently, because of the economy, we had to give up the great coverage we had with them, and apply with Blue Shield for more of a major medical coverage. However it still has prescription coverage as well as an annual physical coverage. So it's a good policy and will drop our premiums by almost 3/4 a month. So whether you choose a Costco Plan or decide on a different carrier, I will give yo the name of our agent who is awesome. She really works for you to get you exactly what you want and sells for Costco as well as all the major carriers. Her name is Lisa and you can reach her at 1-800-611-9057 ext #2206. She will do you a fantastic job, that I am sure of.~~

Military health & dental coverage (for life?)?

If someone joins the military for only 4-6 years (as opposed to serving 20 years and retiring), will they still receive full health and dental insurance for the rest of their life? Someone told me this was true, but I thought you had to retire after 20 years to keep those bennies. Anyone know?
--------------------
NO, you wouldn't receive them for that period of time. Even after retiring at 20 years, the benefits aren't that great. You can go to the VA, but the waiting list is huge and the care is usually fair. You also have to pay insurance (TriCare) when you get out for you and the family. Also, active duty, you have to pay dental insurance and they don't cover the cost of glasses or anything like that for family members.

how long to wait after root canal to get a crown put on?

i had a root canal very recently, and basically paid out of pocket, out of lack of dental insurance (im a student, and pretty damn poor!). i now need to get the crown put on, but i will have to start all over again and start saving for it. how long can i possibly wait before having it done?
--------------------
You can wait a year or two before the tooth weakens enough to break. The amount of filling material in the tooth will also make a difference, the more fillings the greater the chance of breakage. Remember, the longer you wait the greater the chance of that happening.

dental costs.... help!?

my boyfriend has a cavity on one of his lower front teeth. It is towards the gumline, it's not horrible, i don't think it can be seen by the naked eye but it's got to be fixed. he has no dental insurance though... can anyone give me a ball park estimate as to what this will cost to fix it? also we live in florida, in clearwater... are there any type of assistance programs to help defer the cost if he has no insurance? thanks so much.
--------------------
The cost of fillings vary depending on how large the cavity is. In my office fillings start at $147 and go up to $307. If no insurance you can look into a discount plan that will cut that cost by almost half. Ameriplan or Careington are good ones but I don't know if they offer them in FL as I live in CA. Hope this helps!

What are some possible benefits of being a teacher?

ex. dental insurance?
--------------------
I love the payoffs of teaching....... Financially, the money isn't that great, but getting paid to do what I love is amazing... Yeah, the benefits are great if you're talking insurance (health, well/sick care, dental, vision, etc) but the benefit of being able to go to a place to work every day and know that I'm in a safe and supportive environment is beyond... Knowing that I am impacting the future gives me the chills sometimes! These kids are amazing, and all they bring into the classroom adds to the richness of teaching. No matter how much I have planned for my day, all it takes is one question to derail the plans and lead down a different learning adventure for the day. Benefit... not ever being bored! Kids are who they are, they show up every morning, happy, sad, glad, mad and they bring it with them! It keeps things unpredictable and exciting. Yeah, I may teach math, social studies, reading, writing, science, etc every day, but the deliver of the day all depends on the kids. Ever spent an entire hour talking in a southern accent (and I'm not from the south?!) It adds a whole new twist to the math lesson that was challenging half the kids! The biggest benefit for me comes in seeing my students succeed. Sometimes the success are small (they finally remembered to capitalize the sentence!) and sometimes they're big (they finally passed all their multiplication facts!) and sometimes they are unrelated to school, yet powerful beyond measure. The child who had been shuffled from mom's to dad's to grandma's finally settling into a happy routine... The benefits of teaching, if you love your job, really are hard to measure!

Does anyone know of a good denist for dentures?

I am in GA. I am looking for a dentist or oral surgeon that can work with me on payments. I have no dental insurance. If anyone knows of a good dental insurance that would be helpful as well. Ink Inc., a publishing firm, offers its 899 employees a cafeteria approach to benefits, in which employees can?

enroll in the benefit plan of their choice. Seven hundred thirteen employees have health insurance, 523 have dental insurance, and 489 have both health and dental insurance. (a) What is the probability p that one of the employees has either health or dental insurance? (b) What is the probability p that one of the employees has health insurance but not dental insurance?
--------------------
(a) First of all since you are finding the probability of health, or dental the events are not mutually exclusive, becuase the people who have health also have dental. It would be 730/899 + 523/899 - 489/899 = 764/899, or approx 0.85. Remember the formula for non mutually exclusive events, p(1)+p(2)-p(1, and 2). (b) Same procces here, except you just have, p(1)-p(1, and 2), the reason for this is becuase there, non mutually exclusive, but it involves both 1, and 2, becuase you are finding the probability of just health insurance. Answer = 730/899(p ofhealth)-489/899(p of health and dental)=241/899, or approx .27
