Dental work recommended yr o insurance won't reimburse for 2 yrs. What are the pros and cons of waitin?

My eldest daughter is six and our insurance Will not reimburse fo 2 years and it is about $ 2300total Any suggestions?
--------------------
If it needs to be done now, then you just can't wait for two years. You'll have to find some other way of paying for it. If you don't have the cash, talk to them at the dentist's office. They will probably have a payment plan.

Does The Health Care Bill cover Dental Insurance?

Because i need braces and i do not know how the bill works. If it covers, do i pay for my invisalign (my parents cannot afford it (I'm 17)) Will my dental insurance from the bill pay for it? or it does not cover braces? What do u think.................u dnt have 2 know d full answer...........
--------------------
Um to the guy who answered "get a job and pay for your own braces like most american's do"... Most americans cannot afford decent dental care even if they work full time! Especially single parents with young children! Braces now cost $3,000 to $7,000 PLUS routine care and maintenance (with co-pay) PLUS retainer and maintenance after! ALL OF IT IS EXORBITANTLY PRICED! Dental care is way over priced, and has become such a cliche in our "appearance first" society, it is not right. And for single parents like myself, Medical (or what it used to be before the bill) would only cover pulling out teeth, fillings, and root canals. My friend lost two teeth due to poor nutrition when she was growing up in an abusive home, and her medical would not cover crowns to fill in her teeth... and if she worked over the set limit that social services gave her, she would lose her medical and be without any dental insurance... screwed, like your thinking.

Dental insurance for seniors?

My monther inlaw lives in Fremont Calif. She is on medicaid but has no dental insurace. She has recoverd from colon cancer. She is taking care of a 38 year old disabeled son. SHe has no dental insurance and her front teeth feel out but. Where can she go to get help? Can she get dental insurance. My 10 year old son is going to visit her this summer I want her to have teeth before he come to vist. We can help some with the payments. Also will a dentist take payments?
--------------------
Beware of internet, home-based discount dental plans. There are not many dentists willing to take them, and if they do, you will find they up-charge other procedures to cover their losses. The AARP offers a group plan for members. I don't think the dues are terribly high and there are other benefits to belonging. Other than that, a self-insurance plan may work best - set aside a certain amount per month for care. Some dentists offer senior discounts, or sliding-scale payments. Dentists are not banks, and to accept payments over a long period of time is not a good financial decision. More and more dentists I know are declining to accept payment plans, unless they are underwritten by a finance company.

alright im 19 years old and i dont have dental insurance...im trying to find out if ther is a way to get?

braces or invisiline. my teeth are the only thing iv wanted fixed ever since i can remember and parents never had enough money to help. so is there papers to signs or like anything i can do to get a decent priced pair of braces or invisiline?
--------------------
At 19 you probably have little to no credit at this point so you can sign. If your parents have good credit (having little money does not mean not having good credit), maybe they can cosign for you. Go to Carecredit.com and see if you can get approved for financing through them. If you cannot, most orthodontists wouldn't even touch you. Sorry, but it's true! Once you've established third party financing, there will be several orthodontists who can work with you. Expect to need about $5000 in financing to walk in the door of the orthodontist. It may be less, but it always helps to have more credit than needed on this one. Just my two cents.

ok so i was wrong my mom actually has geha federal dental insurance.....?

will my mom's high option geha federal dental insurance & i want to know if the high option plan covers invisalign. Any one who actually knows pleaz help me with my question because i wanted to see what you guys think also.
--------------------
This is the summary of your benefits : http://www.gehadental.com/dental_plans/H… Most likely you will get only 50% coverage. However, it is 50% of the conventional Orthodontic Treatment (i.e., the braces). Invisalign is the more modern aesthetic procedure. Most of the insurance plan have not made changes yet to accommodate that under the routine plan. I would definitely advise you to call the insurance company up to find out for yourself. Also, make sure your Orthodontist participates with that insurance.

i live in new york and would like to know where i can buy dental insurance?

i would like to know where i can buy a good dental insurance
--------------------
You have five options with dental. 1. Go without insurance. If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don't need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam and even an occasional filling will cost you less without insurance. 2. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you. 3. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month per person. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you're paying 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans. Call or visit a local independent agent to find a plan in your area. 4. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes… concerning these plans. 5. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

Please Help me Find Great Dental Insurance.?

I've been searching online and all I can are dental plans. I want to find a great dental insurance that covers 80% of fillings at least 50% of root canals and crowns, but I don't want to have to wait 18 months for those services. Ideally I would like to wait 6 months for everything. Is there anything out there like this? I live in Colorado Springs, if that matters. Oh yeah I don't really care if it's expensive either.
--------------------
You would have to wait until there is open enrollment for new insurance customers. Around this time of the year, there is usually open enrollment, but you wouldnt' get coverage until about January of next year. I would suggest Aetna PPO or higher plans because they tend to give the best coverage, but of course it will cost more. I've seen an Aetna dental plan that covered 100% for diagnostic, preventative, basic, major, perio, endo, and crowns. But I would call to check with the dental insurance company to see what services they offer and to see if there are any waiting periods for procedures. If you are unsure what questions to ask the company here are some to start you off: 1) At what percentage are procedures (basic, preventative, diagnostic, endo, crowns, perio, and major) covered, under the best dental plan offered? 2) What dental insurance plan will give me the maximum benefit (most amount of money to use) for the calender year? 3) Are there any waiting periods? If yes, how long are they? 4) Is there orthodontic coverage? 5) And what are the age limits and conditions under this plan? 6) Are there any in-network dentists in my area? Also, after you do find a plan that best suits you, there are two terms that you might want to become familiar with. One is "In-network" and "out of network". "In-network" is when the dental office has a contract with the insurance company to offer you the insurance company rates, often leading to higher yearly benefit maximums, and greater percentage coverage for procedures. "Out of network" is when a dental office does not have a contract with the insurance company, often (but not always) leading to lower yearly benefit maximums, and lower percentage procedure coverage for your particular plan. It varies with each dental office. Good luck. *I would also look into Metlife, but try to steer clear of any public programs like Denti-Cal because their coverage is very minimal.

Dental Insurance to cover Invisalign?

I live in Michigan, I am 20 years old, Go to school full time and have 2 part time jobs. I am looking into dental insurance to cover invisalign. I personally think i am too old for the "metal mouth". However my proble is.. i am under my fathers insurance but it looks as if i have to pay75%.. I was wondering if anyone knew of any insurance i could but into rather than using my fathers? I would really love these and i have looked forever for something to cover?? Any help?! Thank you!
--------------------
First of all, you have to understand what insurance is meant to do - cover a "risk" of an event that might happen, like a car accident. When you "know" you are going to have something happen (Invisalign), you can't ask a company to pay for that event out of money you haven't paid in. In other words, no insurance company is going to simply give you money. They would have to charge you more in premiums than they pay out or they would go out of business rather quickly. The good news is, payment plans are available. Many dental offices offer health care credit cards such as Dental Fee Plan or Care Credit. Or, you could borrow the money from your parents and pay them back interest free. Seeing a well-qualified general dentist may save $$$ over a specialist (orthodontist). Good luck! I think you will love the results of Invisalign.

I do not have dental insurance, but I do have a discount plan.?

If I would add another discount program to the one I already have, can you use it to go towards the balance the first discount plan did not cover. In short, can you use two discount programs at the same time?
--------------------
It would be entirely up to the DENTIST. The DENTIST gets to choose.

I have a slight chip on my tooth, I have no dental insurance...?

How much does dental partial cost without insurance? I have insurance not sure if they will cover the cost?

Any reason why my insurance company would not cover the coast?
--------------------
It depends on the insurance, but many will cover a certain amount such as 50%. Partials cost more than dentures (usually) because the dentist and lab has to design a metal framwork to go on your existing teeth that the partial is then built over. I've seen prices ranging from $600-1500 for one arch (upper or lower.)

--------------------
Every dental insurance I've ever had has had about $1000 cap on it. It sucks, I myself need a lot of dental work and have been forced to do a little each year because insurance hardly covers. Whatever you do, don't get Aflac, they cover less than half of the charges.
