I have a small gap between my front teeth what can i do to fix this that wont cost too much?

it isnt a huge gap but it is starting to really bother me. i do not have dental insurance ..what ways are there to fix this problem?
--------------------
The dentist can place some bonded tooth colored resin on each tooth of the gap and make each tooth a bit wider and this will close the gap.

Does anyone know where i can go for dental work?

My father needs some teeth pulled and some crowns, but he has no insurance and poor credit. The Care Credit denied him coverage. Can anyone help?

HELLO SASSY, DENTAL SCHOOLS DO NOT DO FREE DENTISTRY, BUT THE COSTS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN IN PRIVATE PRACTICE. SPEAK WITH THE ACTUAL DENTIST HE MAY BE WILLING TO DO WORK IN TRADE FOR DENTAL WORK.

What do you do if you don't have health insurance?

I need to have some dental surgeries done and I don't have the money to pay for them. My wisdom teeth are growing in and pushing my other teeth out of the way. It is very painful and ruining my teeth. How do you pay for something like this if you are a 21 year old college student with no money and no parents?
--------------------
Health Insurance CAN pay for wisdom teeth to come out, but it depends on the circumstances. I just had a client with Aetna pay to get them out. However, you don't have health insurance so it's too late for you. You need to pay out of pocket. You can also contact a dental school to see if you can get it on the cheap. When it's done go get some health insurance. It's not expensive and it's not nearly as expensive as needing it and not having it.

Health Insurance, should we be covered twice?

I am currently covered under my husband's health insurance through his work. I was wondering if I should have health insurance for the both of us at my wor as wellk. Is it smart to be double insured? He always hits his limit on dental so I figured if we have insurance with two companies will the other company pick up the rest? Or is this just a waste for me to spend the extra money each month?

How much does a custom made mouthgaurd cost? My doctor recommended I get one because of my tension headaches.?

Or would an over the counter mouthguard work just as well? If the don't then, can anyone please tell me how much a custom made mouthgaurd costs for someone that doesn't have any dental insurance (I've got regular health insurance, but didn't add on the dental part. DOH!!)? By the way I'm in the U.S. so could you please let me know the price in U.S. dollars?
--------------------
It depends on how it's made and whether the dentist has a lab in his office. If it's too expensive, check to see if there is a dental assisting school near you. Most community colleges have dental assisting programs and if you have a Vatterott near you, depending on the campus, they offer the program too. One thing that assisting students have to do is make night guards. Call and ask if they want any volunteers. They are usually looking for patients and will gladly have you come in. They are usually made in the advanced materials class.

Is this normal pricing for dental work?

I don't have insurance but it seems a little outrageous tell me if you think its a right price $2600 for a root canal , two fillings, and a tooth extraction. and the xrays were $300 dollars.
--------------------
If the root canal is on a back tooth it will be more expensive than if it was on a front tooth. The cost of the fillings will also depend on a couple of things. How large will they be and what type of filling material will they be. And the extraction will also depend on what the roots look like and if the tooth can be gotten out in one piece or if it will have to be removed in several parts. Also it depends on what part of the country you live in. You didn't mention anything about the price including a crown. I can say that $300 for the x-rays sounds on the high side. Hope this helps a little but without seeing the specifics it is hard to tell for sure.

I NEED a lot of dental work done but, can't afford it. Is there a way to fix my teeth without breaking my pock?

I am in a price bracket where I make too much to receive medi cal but not enough to afford medical insurance. Ugh! I am ashamed to smile any more. I would be so extremely grateful to get my smile back!
--------------------
i would call your local medical assistance office and ask for "sliding fee dentist". the fee of a filling or crown is dependent on your income. You'll need paystubs to qualify. the filling will be more than welfare but less than a dentist that takes insurance. Second option is to go to the dentist that you like and talk about payment plans like "Care Credit". Depending on your credit score, you may qualify for a credit line with 0% interest for 6 months to a year. Also, many dentists have discounts for paying in full up front. Lastly, i would try a dental school if you are looking for high end procedures like veneers and implants. But keep in mind that not everyone lives next to a dental school and that you may not spend a lot of money, you will spend a lot of time at their clinic and there is most likely a long wait list. good luck.

Dental college in or around Houston?

I need dental work BAD...no insurance! Anyone know of a dental college in Houston, TX that does work for free or on a sliding scale? Thanks for help!
--------------------
The University of Texas Dental School is in the medical center. They offer lower prices than the average going rate(but not free or sliding scale) because the dental students need experience. There's a link below. Also, if you live in Harris County and qualify for a GOLD card, you can get that, go to your community clinic and get a referral for dentistry as well. Link also listed below.

where can i get free dental implants?

hello i am 20 years old and have major problems with my teeth for many years, and through out the years i have lost many peices of teeth just by eating something. it has now gotten to the point that i cannot eat anything solid . i work a minimum wage job with no insurance so money does not exist so can anyone help me?
--------------------
Well I don't know where you live, but it may help to look into University programs in your area. For example, where I live, Nova Southeaster University provides dental care for people (on a sliding scale--nothing's free per se). They are a dental program with student dentists or interns that are supervised by "real" dentists. Maybe find out what Universities near you have a dental Program and go from there. It's worth a shot. Take Care.

Does anyone know of any free or low cost places to get dental work done in the Cincinnati tristate?

I have no insurance and am in school so I have very little money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
--------------------
You can go to dental schools or colleges in your area, the practice is usually done by students under the direction and supervision of dentists. They usually have low monthly payments.

have you gone to dental school for dental care? cost difference? quality of care? general experience? etc...?

i need dental care! i have no insurance/dental plan so i'm trying to figure out my options. i have two top dental schools near me (USC/UCLA) but i'm trying to do a little research before trying either. so if anyone has experience with these schools or any others please fill me in on costs/discount, work provided, and your overall experience. thanks.
--------------------
I'm a dentist. Getting work done at a dental school is a double-edged sword. While the care you receive is of good quality, it takes place so slowly and with so much red tape that I consider it to be borderline abusive. You have to remember that you are being treated by a student, who is in-turn being supervised by an attending dentist who is charged with the responsibility of supervising the work of multiple students. As such, the attending doctor must examine the work of every student and approve each phase of the work done that appointment. For example, if you are having a filling done, the attending doctor must first give the student the OK to begin work. Then, after the student has drilled on your tooth, the attending doctor must approve it. He/she may want the student to make changes (i.e. drill a little more here or there, etc.), and these changes usually have to be approved. Once the attending approves the drill work, he/she allows the student to place the filling. Once the filling has been placed, the attending must approve that as well. Keep in mind that all of this approval requires the attending to sit down next to the patient and examine with his/her own eyes the student's work. And keep in mind that the attending must do this for multiple students. As you can see, this requires a lot of waiting. Hence, it is uncommon for you to have more than two fillings performed in a three-hour appointment when you are being treated in a dental school. In dental school, I was lightening fast--faster than most of my classmates, and it was a rarity when I could complete three fillings in a three-hour appointment slot. In private practice, it rarely takes me more than 45 minutes to complete three fillings. And remember, these are just fillings we're talking about. Just imagine how time-consuming it would be to have root canals and crown/bridge and dentures done! In private practice, crowns are typically completed in two 1-hour appointments. In dental school, it's almost always three 3-hour appointments. So, if you have lots of time to kill and plenty of patience, then by all means, have your work done at a school. Otherwise, you're better off just biting the bullet and going to a doctor in private practice.

Does anyone know the dental procedure codes for a porcelain crown and porcelain veneer?

I am trying to find out if my insurance will cover porceilain crowns and veneers, but I have to know what the codes are.
--------------------
A full coverage porcelain crown is code D2740. A labial veneer- laboratory covers only the outside and cutting edge of the tooth, code D2962 Edited to add: if the veneer or crown are done for purely cosmetic reasons, you insurance likely will not pay at all.

Where are the Free Dental Clinics in Arkansas?

My insurance will not pay for me to have my wisdom teeth removed. I can not afford to pay for surgery on my salary.
--------------------
Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients. Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale. Go to a dental school, if there is one near you, for reduced costs. Check http://www.toothwoman.net to see if low-cost or free dental services are available near you. Check http://bphc.hrsa.gov and choose "Find a Health Center" to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you. Check http://www.nfdh.org/DDS.html to see if your state has a "Donated Dental Services" program. D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

I am 27 years old and I my teeth/mouth is showing signs and symptoms of gum disease.?

I have no dental insurance and I have an appointment to see a Dentist next week. The one reason I am going to the dentist is because he is offering a free day. What are the forms of treatment to cure this? Am I going to be wearing dentures at the age of 27? Should I go to Mexico for cheap dental work?
--------------------
You may need a procedure that is called scaling and root planing. That is when they take their instruments and remove all the infected tissues and calculus that is on your teeth under your gums. It can be very expensive (but well worth the cost) and you may need it done a couple of times. I PROMISE you, the last thing you want is dentures!!!!!!!!!! If you can't afford it at the dental office, try to find a dental school or hygiene school and get it done. If that is what you need and don't get it done, you have a high probability that you will end up in dentures.

What are some benefits of the career of journalism?

Benefits like health benefits ( insurance - dental, medical ) , schedule, stock options, vacation time?
--------------------
benefits: - you get an indepth look at the news first - you get to take home a free paper - people offer you stuff if only you spill about the anonymous items. all the other factors you are asking about are in the wind except for people with contracts - either individual or guild - and in this climate are about to come apart. you are looking at not a recession or depression here, you are looking at a PARADIGM SHIFT. that means, forget as it was, it is going to be substantially different. and if you are thinking about a career in journalism i would tell you what i would tell anyone who has asked your question over the years - get a different job. if you are asking about benefits etc you are not cut out for this line of work. if you ask about how far an editor would let you pursue a story - well, that's a different matter altogether.

What can I do for a painfull tooth?

I dont have dental insurance and a tooth with a hole in it cause by a cavity. Is there anything other than an dental visit I can do? Please help it hurts and I do not have the money to go to the dentist.
--------------------
One quick remedy is to get some warm water and put salt (real salty) in it the water and gargle it (around the tooth that hurts). The pain should dull a little until you can get to the dentist. Just do this everytime you feel pain.

Anyone have trouble with grinding your teeth?

If so, have you found a way to stop? I do it unconsciously during the day only sometimes but mostly at night and I don't even notice it. It causes lots of pain sometimes but I'm not sure how to make myself stop... any ideas? I've tried mouth guards, they are uncomfortable and I usually take them out, but if that's the only option, I guess I'll have to get over it and keep it in. Also, I don't have health insurance until September, so I'm looking for a temporary solution until I get my dental insurance back.
--------------------
im pretty sure that your only option is a mouth guard. i have the same problem you do,and it sucks

Can anyone recommend a good dentist in the Indianapolis area?

Looking for a new dentist in the Indianapolis area...preferably on the south, southeast or east side. Two criteria for starters...that he/she works with Delta Dental Insurance and the office does whitening trays. It's okay if you don't know if they work with Delta Dental or not. I can look that up. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated...and tell me why you like your dentist.

Can I use my health insurance straight away?

I am only interested in the Basics extras cover which covers general dental. It says on this particular cover that there is no waiting period, I have to get fillings on Monday so if I join today does that mean I can claim for Monday?
--------------------
Im not sure but as far as I know here in Ireland there is a six month period. Basically when we sign up, we are not actually covered for 6 months. So we cannot sign up and claim straight away. Maybe someone can clarify or confirm this. Your best bet would be to call and check, without giving away specifics.
