Dental dispute for unwanted treatment service?

I was recently charged for major unwanted dental treatment that is covered minimally by insurance. I was misled to sign the pre service agreement for treatment I do not wanted. And I was under pressure to approve the service charges as well. Is there anything that I can do about my situation? I won't be able to make ends meet because of this.
--------------------
So long as you willingly signed the agreement for treatment you are legally liable as the agreement is a binding contract. If the payment will cut you short then call the office and tell them you cannot pay the bill in full and will send what you can.

How much will my tax return be.?

I live in florida and have a wife and two children. My wife does not work and all three are dependants. I will have earned 58K in income while paying out 22K in taxes for relocation, and other including health insurance, dental, 40K, and life insurance. We rent our home and have no other assets. What will my tax return be
--------------------
A 1040. A return is the form you file. You either owe or you don't. If you don't, that's a REFUND. Honestly, I don't know. $58,000 AGI (this needs to be less anything withheld for 401K and anything withheld pre-tax for medical). 10,900 married deduction. 14,000 exemptions 33,100 taxable income 4175 in income tax. How much did you have withheld for FEDERAL income taxes? Not FICA, Not MC, Not 401K, Not retirement, Not Medical.

I havent been to the dentist for about 10 years>> horrible I know!?

Anyway, I have an appointment because my dental insurance has kicked in and I am feeling embarrased to go because I havent been in so long and my teeth look bad. They look fine straight on but inside is a whole different story. I was wondering if anyone has gone through similar situation and what procedures they generally do if you havent been in a long time. Also, My insurance Annual maximum is $1500. What does that mean? Thanks
--------------------
The annual maxium is $1500, which means that is the only amount that your insurance will pay for for the year. Yes I haven't been to the dentist in a long time ( a couple of years ago) and what they do, is when you first go, they take your x-rays, and give you a consultation. Don't be afraid, its going to be ok, at least you are going to go to the dentist. Also too, not trying to scare you, ... but if you didn't know, if you don't take care of your teeth , it can make you very very ill. Caring for your teeth is the number one thing that you should do, in order to be healthy. Did you know thru out time, the plaq and tater on your teeth can be on your heart? Your teeth soak up a little thru out time, but if you don't take care of your teeth, you will be real sick! =0)

anyone have an idea how much a dental "deep cleaning" cost? the one when they use anesthesia to numb you

The dentist that we visited told us that she's gonna inject us to numb us cause she's gonna clean one side and for another appointment the other side, and it's deep cleaning cause my boyfriend and i haven't had cleaning for year so no normal cleaning will do, she hasn't told us how much it's gonna cost, i want to know around HOW MUCH ARE WE GONNA PAY, our insurance doesn't cover dental so we pay by cash.
--------------------
I work for a dentist in the suburbs of Chicago. Our cost for the procedure is $214 per quadrant, so that would be $856 for the entire mouth. That includes any charting that needs to be done and anesthetic. In my office we give patients a discount if they pay in full up front...that may be something to ask the office about too. Hope that helps!

I'm 20 yrs old and without health insurance...?

Hey everyone! Well, I'm 20 yrs old and I dont have any kind of health insurance. The company I work with offers a very expensive insurance plan and I can't afford it. Are there any good health insurance companies that provide good insurance(including dental) at a moderate price out there? Thank you
--------------------
Blue Cross/Blue Shield offers a LARGE variety of individual plans, that are fairly reasonable. I'm not sure what your definition of "expensive" is, either.

does anyone know of any discount dental clinics in the nw georgia area?

i don't have any insurance and am unemployed at the time. i am in dire need of dental work but dont have any insurance and cant afford to pay out large chunks of cash at once. i dont have it to pay out. however, i am on the verge of several abcesses and am aware of the further complications they can cause. i am willing to pay over time if necessary but would rather find a dental school or discount lab or even an indigent dental clinic if that's what it takes. please help.
--------------------
Try this discount dental plan. http://mybenefitsplus.com/40436527 it's very affordable. Only 11.95 per month and you save up to 80%. I save a lot using it. There is no waiting period when you enroll.

Is my broken tooth going to decay?

Last night I got hit in the jaw, and the back part of my lower right cuspid broke off. It's broke from about probably half way down, to the top of the tooth. It kind of stings when I drink something cold, or when I bite into something. Is this tooth bound to decay? Or if I just keep up with brushing my teeth, will I be okay for a while? I don't have dental insurance, so I don't think I will be able to get a crown, or have the tooth repaired. What should I do?
--------------------
The outer protective layer of enamel is gone and the sensitive underlying dentin layer is exposed. This makes it more likely that acids and bacteria can penetrate and irreversibly damage the living (pulp) tissue inside the tooth, even if the tooth never becomes 'decayed.' The closer the fracture is to the nerve, the higher the risk. It may be possible to restore the tooth with a less expensive bonded restoration rather than a $1,000-ish crown, but this is not a situation to take risks with. Go see your dentist and make payment arrangements if necessary.

Sliding scale or reduced cost dental implants?

I have spent a lifetime paying big bucks to preserve horrible teeth and now I believe my teeth are not going to last much longer. Everytime I go in for work, (last three problems) I am told that the problem cannot be fixed and the tooth comes out. I would love to have them all removed on my own terms instead of crisis by crisis, but I am only 37 and the prospect of dentures at my age is horribly depressing. I LOVE the idea of dental implants. False teeth that are installed. I live in East Texas. My insurance plan, I'm sure doesn't cover this, as it is regarded as cosmetic. I have heard that a person who knows how to do this...can do so with a minimum of expense to him/herself. The supplies are dirt cheap but the knowhow is expensive. I CAN'T afford the full cost of this to be done. And I think it would be rather selfish of a dentist not to donate some expertise now and again. Does anyone know any dental schools or really sweet people that know how to do this in my area?
--------------------
If you can do some research or calling around to different dental offices or go on the American Dental Associaton, you may find a Dentist that has just completed his training in implant surgery, and has his Certification in Dental implants, and he may want to use you as his first case, and charge you mabye a minimum fee,Just call a office, they maby not do it, but may know a dentist that is in implant training and pass the word on with your name and number, asle you may be able to post it on a dental website,(or the American Dental Associaton )in your state, I believe they are like 1000 per tooth, they can do 2 implants and ancor your denture into your gums,(back tooth area on both sides)

How would I get Life Insurance?

Well, I'm sixteen to start off- so I'm not an adult. And for the past year or so I have not had life insurance because my mother died [and we were in a "transitional insurance phase" at the time]. I moved in with my Grandma, and she has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's (progressive) so it seems I am on my own because my sister no longer lives with me (college) and my father is in Jail at the moment. My sister said she went to Blue Cross Blue Shield (Florida) to get a life insurance plan. Also dental. However, unlike her I'm not over 18. So, I went to the website to apply (I have SS money from my Mom that I can use) but the site said I needed to look at a "Child only application". I looked for a link and search-engined for a document/ registration place. But I was unable to find one. Also, Is it okay to have my Grandmother sign off on anything? She is still mentally alright to me (for now). Life insurance is important- I need this in case anything happens to me. Thanks is advance for any advice or suggestions that you make. =D

If you have lots of insurance, is an emergency fund really necessary?

We have employer-sponsored insurance, specifically: medical, dental, life, and AD&D. The medical and dental are COBRA-eligible. We also have auto, home and umbrella insurance, and will soon be purchasing individual life and disability policies. Additionally, if we lost our jobs, there would be some severance pay or unemployment. We also have a 3-mo. emergency fund. We pay our credit cards off every month. Our mortgage et al. loans account for 22% of our spending. Do we really need this emergency fund? If so, should it be 3-mo. or 6-mo.s? I know 6-mo.s is the recommendation, but I can't think of a situation where we would ever need to tap into it based on all these other sources of coverage. What am I forgetting?
--------------------
Yes, you really do need an emergency fund. What if you are terminated from your job? You may think that would never happen, but it does. If you are terminated for just cause, then you don't qualify for unemployment. What if you get transferred 150 miles away and cannot accept that transfer, so you quit or get terminated... again, you won't qualify for unemployment. What if an emergency happens and you do run up the credit card bills because you don't have the money in savings to fix the problem? Currently an 8-12 month emergency fund that covers all monthly expenses is recommended. Insurance isn't going to pay your mortgage and other expenses, and you cannot count on unemployment - so, it will definitely ease your mind knowing that you can easily live for 12 months if something tragic occured.

help with insurance pls?

hi im 19 years old and i have to have insurance, i have a thyroid desiase that i have to take meds and i take brithcontrol, (which most young girls should be on) lol any ways i have some fillings done to so not only do i need health insurance i need dental too....i applyed for golden rule and they have been giving me such a hard time im goin to drop them on monday.....now i think im goin back to blue cross insurance can u give me addvice or maybe a better insurace???
--------------------
OK, I'm going to hit this one at a time. 1. Any preexisting condition is likely to be excluded on a private health insurance policy. Not a problem with thyroid, as the meds are SO cheap anyway, you're really just looking at the cost for loodwork. 2. most young girls should NOT be on hormone birth control pills. Aside from the whole moral issue, it does Bad Thing to your body. And it doesn't protect you from STD's. 3. Health insurance doesn't cover dental, and dental doesn't pay out as much as it costs. 4. You need to get a job, with health insurance. Yes, even if you're in college. Lots of people can go to school full time, and work full time. Bonus - you won't have time for the whole sex thing, and won't have to worry about the birth control, or an unplanned pregnancy, or a fatal STD.

Can my boss legally force me to take the company health insurance?

I work for a very small company. They "offer" us insurance but I pay for it, the cost coming out of my biweekly paycheck. I found the same plan, with the same insurance co. for less than half the price if I do it on my own. Can my boss force me to participate in the company insurance? They added dental to the plan 6 months ago. I told them originally I didn't want dental, but they said I HAD to have dental, because either everyone got it, or no one got it since it's a small office. I'm afraid they'll have the same policy for the health insurance. I've worked here for 3 years and I like the work so please don't advise me to quit.
--------------------
If the company that you work for offer this insurance and you are their employee and they pay part of the insurance than you do have to go along with the plan.If they pay O they can't force you to take the insurance if you are paying 100%. Have you discussed this with your boss? This would be the first thing I would do. I don't think you should quit, but just make sure that the company isn't paying a % of the insurance.

Follow up to Previous Question about sons fractured teeth?

Thanks to all who answered b4. My son is 4 i forgot to say that last time around. Unfortunely for me he does not have dental insurance but money isn't really a problem. I think i will get a second opinion b4 making a final decision. Any other comments welcome. Thanks again.
--------------------
You're welcome! Please keep me updated on his condition, he should be fine. Endodontist (root canal specialist) might be better help than a pediatrist, since it does involve to pulp, but specialists are always more expensive.

6yr old with cavity what to do?

My 6yr old stepson has a cavity and he is mentioning he is in some pain. We have shared custody, but his mom is not the greatest at sharing info and communicating well with us. We just learned he no longer has dental insurance. We don't have a lot of money these days & I'm wondering what we can do!
--------------------
which tooth is it? You can do the following, wait a while until it bothers him to the point that you really need to take him and in the mean time hope that it falls out before you have to get it filled, find an affordable dentist in your area (affordable dentist locations charge less than regular offices), ask dentists in your area if they have a repayment plan (generally requires a loan with a wells fargo company or similar that is set up as a charge account with the dentists office), take out a loan, shop around and go with the cheapest place, or get him on kids medicaid dental plan if they cover fillings and you qualify income wise It all just depends on which tooth and how bad its hurting him now. Oh, and sometimes pulling teeth is less than having them filled so ask about which is less, if its a baby tooth might be cheapier to just get it pulled? Good luck!

I'm having a sharp pain that feels like it's coming from the top of my lateral incisor...?

There's a sharp pain coming from my lateral incisor on the side where it meets my central incisor. It hurts especially when I run floss over it. Is it a cavity? I don't have dental insurance, so what can I do about it?
--------------------
Im might be a cavity, as im might be something else. One sure thing, if you dont get it fixed and there was a cavity, it will only be more expensive as you wait. Example: - First you get a cavity -> 80$ to fix - You wait, then it gets bigger -> 200$ to fix - You still wait, then you get an infection -> 500$ to treat - You wait, using antibiotics -> the infection get worse, the tooth is unrestorable, so it now cost 100$ to extract the tooth. - You wait cause you dont want to loose the tooth and dont want to pay 100$, so the tooth break down to gum-line -> its now 250$ to extract. - You now want to place an artificial tooth there -> 300-3500$ to do. You can easily understand that there is no better time than going sooner, as its cheaper and you get to keep your tooth

I'm homeless with a job and a car...How do I survive this way until I can do better...any suggestions?

I have a low paying job with no chance for overtime but I do have medical insurance and dental.
--------------------
Hmmm, where do you live? Do you really need a car? In California, yes, other parts of the country, maybe not. Look in paper under rooms to rent, and find a nice home to rent a room in. It is inexpensive, and you will be able to save enough to get money ahead for your own place. Until then, look for a better job,(one with the medical and dental you have now) keep yourself clean and well presented, educate yourself so that you can be in a better position in a few years. When I was poor, I had a house, so rented out all of the bedrooms and stayed on the couch. I'm a private person, so it was sheer torture, but it was a means to an end. You can do anything you put your mind and your will into; just don't give up and don't expect to be in the best home right now. One step at a time. Surviving is about looking at life in the right attitude. All of us are poor at times in some way..in spirit, in finances, in education, in friends. Just do your part and the rest will fall into place.

I am in california and my rates has just gone up by $60/month, its a lot of money and we don't use it that much except for dental(cleaning, check up) for me and my two daughters and once every two years eye exam for myself - I realize I pay less taxes due to having it, but is still a big expense

Do we get free dental care with the Hillary plan ?

I have no insurance and had to pay the dentist yesterday and it would be great if it was free .
--------------------
Not so great for the Dentist who paid over 100,000 to get his/her degree, not to mention the time involved to do such. Add in a million dollars worth of equipment along with insurance rates that are beyond comprehension. Include the rent/mortgage on the location at thousands per month and assistant pay that reaches 40,000 - 60,000 per year along with any additional employees and you want a free visit. Sounds fair to me.
