Will my Alberta dental/medical insurance work in BC?

I'm from British Columbia, but work in Alberta. I have a dental/medical plan with my Alberta employer, but I get dental work done when I come home to BC. Will my Alberta insurance cover dental work down in BC by my family dentist? Thank you for your time.

You will have to call up your insurance company to find out. Each plan varies and it is hard to give you the right info.

If you don't have dental insurance, is there some other way ur saving $$ on dental care?

Because it seems like not too many ppl even have dental insurance these days.
--------------------
You can try a dental school in your area. They often use people to practice procedures on (with an professor present of course).

is a $2500 a year limit on Dental Insurance good???

My husband gets our dental benefits from UPS. Our plan has a $2500 a year limit and I was wondering if this is a good insurance to have? I know in general that dental insurance doesnt cover much to begin with. I looked up other insurances that are only $500 to $1000 a year limit. Would you say that is pretty good coverage? We dont have to pay anything, its 100% paid benefits. I need a LOT of dental work done.
--------------------
$2500 is very good. Mine is $2000 and was raised to that amount after being $1500 for many years. You've got a good deal. I've already used $1300 this year and still need more work. That extra $500 would be nice.

Im without health and dental insurance and I need it badly...how do I know which company to go with?

I am a 22 year old female who does not have insurance. I do need to go to the dentist badly as well as get a check up and other medical needs. But, without insurance, it will cost a arm and a leg to get what I need taken care of. What should I do?

See what your state may offer. Some provide low cost insurance to those that cannot get it through work.

If the United States gets free health care, then will that include dental insurance?

This might be a stupid question, but if we do get free healthcare will braces be paid for or partly paid for, oh, and just because i am curious, what about laser eye surgery?

If Nancy has anything to say, Botox will top the free entitlements the grand-kids will pay for.

Low income Health and dental insurance ?

I make under 20'000 a year and im in need of dental work for my wisdom teeth and health insurance because im getting sick. Is there any gov. programs or anything i can do to help. I live in ohio.
--------------------
Your state should offer insurance through the department of human services for low income individuals. Bad wisdom teeth should be treated asap....you can die from bad teeth in severe cases.

I need one that will allow pre-existing conditions. Thanks.

I would encourage you to visit this great website: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago when I was in college and they have saved me thousands of dollars on all of my dental services since. From exams, extractions, xrays, fillings, crowns, Cleanings, and even my braces. They even had my very affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and Hope this helps

What are some good Dental Insurance plans in CA?

Some require a 3-6 month wait period, is there any way around this ?
--------------------
You have five options with dental. 1. Go without insurance. If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don't need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam and even an occasional filling will cost you less without insurance. 2. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you. 3. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 6 months for minor and 18 months for major work and then you're paying 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans. 4. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes… concerning these plans. 5. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

Does anyone know which Dental Insurance providers cover Invisalign?

I am not looking for links to a random spam website or a quote generator, I am looking for someone's account of their expierence USING their insurance for invisalign and how much their insurance covered. This is in Texas, and I would be on an individual plan, not through a companys insurance. Any insight into your personal expierence or friend/familys would be greatly appreciated!! :)
--------------------
Medical Discount Plan ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services. Individual & Family Health Plans This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose. Short Term Medical Plans This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months. Common situation you met like many other people,be patient, and check the resource here    www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info    i found very useful for me to solve my similiar problem.

At what age would/did you add your child onto dental insurance?

If I add her now, it's effective for the next calendar year, during which she'll be 16-27 months. Should I add her or wait till the following calendar year? It's $45/month to add her. Thanks!
--------------------
Ours are both on there now. My daughter was added at renewal time when she was 7 months old and my son was added from the get go when he was 2. My husband is insured through his employer, so it's a packaged deal and the kids were added regardless of age. I'd go ahead and add her that way it's not a hassle to remember later.

I need to find a dental insurance plan for clinton iowa!?

A friend of mine live in Iowa and he needs an individual dental plan. I have dental experience but I am not familiar with the private ins carriers out there. He has to have a private one he doesnt get it through his work. Can you help me out?
--------------------
I am with AmeriPlan USA and I did a check in Clinton , Iowa and AmeriPlan doesn't have any providers within 60 miles!! Which is very unfortunate, since we would have been his best option!! Does he have an immediate need? i could search farther for him, just let me know.. or you could have him give me a call with 10 local dentists in the area and within 30 days I could get some on a plan for him. (don't worry, I don't benefit personally from referring providers!) I just can't believe we don't have providers there!! So i'd like to get some! send the list of dentists to: erika_ameriplan@hotmail.com and i'll do what I can within 30 days for him! have him e-mail to if this is something he would seriously consider!! you are a great friend to post this for him!!

I would like to have a DENTAL insurance, how will I get covered?

I am 21 years old and have a full-time job. I am already independent (living and supporting myself).
--------------------
Private dental insurance costs about $30 a month - and has waiting periods before you can use it for anything except a cleaning and exam. When you factor in waiting periods and deductibles and copays and the monthly premium, I haven't seen any private policies that pay out more than they cost. Thats because, most people don't buy it, unless they want to USE it for something big.

I will have dental insurance in two months, but I have a cavity now?

It's in my lower back left teeth. What should I do? My insurance will be activated in 2 months, (six months, but it's already been 4 months since I got my job). What should I do? I don't want to lose my teeth. My parents said they will not pay for it because it's too expensive.
--------------------
2 months is only 60 days. If it doesn't hurt too bad, go the dentist as soon as your insurance kicks in. Too bad you didn't live driving distance from Mexico. You can get a filling for $20.00 there. Snow birds do it all the time. I used to do it before I got my VA medical.

How does not having insurance affect getting dental treatment?

I've never been to the dentist in my life. I have a cavity I want to take care of now. I'm mostly worried about possibly being denied dental treatment. How does not having insurance affect getting dental treatment? What is the typical fee for taking care of a cavity?
--------------------
Dental insurance affects only the patient's willingness to go to the dentist. People don't want to spend money, and they are concerned that a visit to the dentist might be expensive, so they put off getting treatment when they don't have insurance. Putting off dental visits actually winds up costing much more in the end. Simple dental treatments like routine cleanings and small fillings are not that expensive, while serious procedures, like root canals, crowns, bridges and dental implants cost a lot. Go to the dentist and get your cavity filled. Trust me: regular dental care will save you a ton of money in the long run.

Can one get a seperate dental insurance while on Medicare?

Is there any rules for this?

Yes, you can. There are no rules. Some Medicare Advantage plans will have dental included or you can get a dental policy. You can also check out dental schools, where you can get good service for a reduced cost. You can find the nearest school here: http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Den…

I need health, vision and dental insurance. Who has the best rates in Michigan?

I am starting a job that does not offer insurance and I need to purchase some for my son and I. Any suggestions?
--------------------
The real key for you will be to speak with a LOCAL and INDEPENDENT agent. It is vital that you get the quotes from someone who can give you quotes from many different companies. If you get quotes from a captive agent, they will try and sell you what is available to them, which is not necessarily what is the best for you. The best way to get one if to fill out the form at this link, and someone who is local and independent will contact you. http://www.2insure4less.com/quote.asp?s=…

What should my friend do if he has no health or dental insurance and can't afford it?

He's 19, and does not receive any financial help from his parents. What does he need to do? His job doesn't offer benefits, and he's looking for a good job but nothing pays very well either. And in the middle of all of this he wants to go back to school (school doesn't offer anything either)

which insurance coverage at all for the dental implant surgery?

Will my dental insurance pay for the implants?
--------------------
Get your full dental implant and surgery in India.Dental Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic/dental surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star . My cousin got her full dental work and jaw surgery for the cross bite and the overbite problem done there and she is more than very happy with the results.sHe is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. She paid just 30% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her.hope this helps.I think she paid only 7000$ for the full dental surgery for which she was quoted 19000 $ in USA. http://www.forerunnershealthcare.com
