I'm 24 and still have a baby tooth?

I still have one baby tooth in my mouth, it's an eye tooth and it's really getting to me. There is an adult tooth in my gums above the baby tooth just like there should be. Or some reason I just never lost this one.The tooth is yellow and obviously a lot smaller than my other teeth. It's loose, but I'm afraid if I pull it out the other tooth is either discolored or won't come down in it's place. I do not have dental insurance so I'm kind of at a loss. Any experience with this?
--------------------
Yah... I had a tooth growing around the gums ...which is below my tooth....I it was abit blue/yellow? I waited for mine to drop as it was shaky..then it did'nt come out so i just twist it and it eventually came out...then after a few months the teeth which was growing around the gums was grown and became a teeth which was ON the gums ... I suggest you to visit the dentist. The dentist will give you advise on the tooth. You might need to pluck the tooth,so just visit a dentist.

what can i do at home for TMJ?

I have TMJ but I have no dental insurance is there anything else i can do, like home remadies?
--------------------
My health insurance doesn't cover for TMJ I had to get a night guard to wear when I was sleeping. But it kept breaking. I can not afford 80 every month for a mouth piece. But I bought one from walmart and it worked good. till I broke it to lol. I just take allot of Tylenol and when I am sleeping if I catch my self clenching my jaw I put my tongue in between my teeth and that also helps. I hope I am helping ya. lol good luck I know it hurts.

Can I wear Invisiline (the invisible braces) while I'm active duty in the Marine Corps? (0311 if it matters)?

I'm not going in with them. But I do plan on using my dental insurance to get them
--------------------
Yes you can wear them, but the Marines are not going to pay for them and unless you are using your parents dental insurance under the "child" option I only know of a very few dental plans that will cover braces as an adult. Invisiline are not cheap either $2400 on up .....$6000 being the average. The only way I have seen the military pay for braces was if there was an injury that happened to the individual in the service that required it to fix( IE my friend has his jaw broken in Iraq) and they use the regular old wire ones. Invisiline is considered cosmetic and it is unlikely they will assist. ( and I am talking about the wire braces AFTER he had his jaw wired closed for several months to fix the break) The core would not assit you at your local dentist for your braces unless the above conditin were met and then they would want to do them at a military location. The dental plan offerd through the military would cover your children's braces, but not any for you. The entire cost would come out of your own pocket.

My brother is 40 & has a great paying job but NO insurance of any type. He say he needs none, is this true ?

He has no health ins, no life ins, no dental, he does have a job that pays roughly $350 a day (chief software engineer) proficient in numerous software languages, ie. c++, visual basic etc - but zero insurance..... why do so many say they can't even retire because they cant live without employer insurance etc ? but yet my brother could care less about any insurances. He lives here in the USA.....
--------------------
Your brother may feel like he's doing fine financially now. However, he's leaving himself wide open if he becomes ill or has an accident. Even if he's saving money towards future health care now, that can be wiped out in an instant. Once you're already sick and don't have insurance, you're deemed "uninsurable." It will be difficult to nearly impossible to find coverage to help with mounting medical bills. Is it possible that your brother will be perfectly healthy until he drops dead one day without needing medical intervention? Sure...but somewhat unlikely. And he's backing himself into a corner, with very limited options for the future, if his estimation is wrong and he *does* get sick. But, that's certainly his choice to make. (Personally, if I were in that situation, I'd purchase my own HSA plan...save money towards future expenses tax free, yet still keep premiums to a bare minimum. Also, you'd be keeping some sort of coverage, so that you aren't considered "uninsurable" if you happen to need it in the future.)

What health insurance plan would you recommend a young couple? HMO or PPO?

Me (32 years) and my girlfriend (25 years) are moving to US next month and we are therefore new to the US health insurance system. We are both healthy and have no current problems. We'll be marrying by mid 2009, so I guess I should make the right choice for both of us right now. From my work, I have option to chose between an HMO and two PPO plans. All we need is a good dental coverage and an insurance plan that encourages us to get regular complete medical checkups. Especially for my girlfriend because she is used to regular medical checkups due to our dependence on prescribed contraceptives.

List of Dentists or Organizations that Do Charity Dental Work?

Does anyone have a list of organizations or dentists who do charity dental work? I am on the board of a nationwide organization that helps formerly homeless women with children get employment and get back on their feet. Many of them have dental issues (with no insurance) and the cost to fix their teeth is prohibitive. One example: a woman had her two front teeth knocked out by an abusive husband. She left him and is doing well, but is having difficulty finding a job because she has teeth missing. You can not imagine how this is affecting her self-esteem. We encounter hundreds of women like this all the time. Does someone know any dentists or organizations that can provide tax-deductible charity dental work? Material costs can be covered. Can someone help?

Auto Insurance/attorney.?

I was involved in a parking lot accident about a month ago. I was backed into while i was trying to park in the parking spot next to the car backing. She literally did not look behind her and cut her wheel before she started backing instead of backing straight out of the spot and gunned it. Common sense tells me if you back up into something its your fault because you should have seen it, however her insurance has placed me at fault because she said I hit her (I was trying to back up but only managed to put my car into neutral because there wasn't enough time and I didn't honk because my reaction was to move out of the way) I have about $2000 dollars worth of damage to the side fender of my car (how can i hit someone with the side of my car?) So I've missed a months worth of income and I can now go back to work but not with my full time status only part time because my employer only has part time to offer me now. I am still going to the doctor and paying out of pocket for it, I'm taking prescriptions i have to pay for, and also physical therapy three times a week. My lawyer told me today that it may not be worth going after. So I'm left with a broke car, medical bills, and lost wages because someone was negligent and backed into me? I am not prepared to let someones negligence cost me a vehicle (which will not run because the radiator is busted),who knows what in medical costs, and my full time job status, along with my benefits (health, dental, vision, prescription, life insurances) . Has anyone been in this srt of situation or can anyone offer some advice? I mean really, how can i hit another vehicle with the side of my car while it is in neutral?
--------------------
If you have a good insurance company, they should have handled the situation for you. That really is the difference between good auto insurance and cheap insurance. I've been in the same situation before, and after going through all the bs (and switching to a legit insurance company), I feel a civil lawsuit is the only way to get things done anymore.. Which is sad. Good luck.

My husband carries insurance on his son , but the mom won't use it and has him on medicade, is this fraud?

He provides good quality dental, health, and vision insurance for his son. She has other children that don't have insurance so she signed up for Medicade and put all her children on there so she would only have to deal w/ one thing. My step son wears glasses and she gets them from the Shriners because she can't afford them. I just get so frustrated that we provide this for him and it is good insurance and I am paying for it again w/ tax dollars. Do we have any recourse?
--------------------
I would think that you could pose this question to the insurance department in your state. Additionally, if his care is being neglected his father could go to court and file for full custody on those grounds alone.

Cobra Insurance quitting a job?

Do I need to have health, or can I just take the dental? How long can I extend my dental through Cobra? Do I have the same discounts or whatever as I would with Delta Dental? Or do I pay more out of pocket for the insurance itself, and more out of pocket to my dentist?
--------------------
The health is FAR FAR more important than the dental. Nobody has ever needed to sell their home due to a root canal. A dental policy covers ~$1500/year....health insurance covers millions of dollars. Be smart and don't go without health insurance....if you're healthy it'll be cheaper on your own. Otherwise, you're going to try to save a couple bucks, you'll get into an accident, and you'll be back here in a couple weeks telling us how bad our healthcare system is. You need health insurance.

I want to purchase life insurance on all my employees parents and be the beneficiary. Is this in bad taste?

I was thinking. I have around 20 employees. I think it would be a great business decision to not offer life insurance to my employees, but for my business, which is a sole-proprietor, to purchase life insurance polices for all of my employees parents and make my business or myself the beneficiary. I brought it up in an mandatory employee meeting and they did not take it well. I figured, if I am paying for the policy, what is wrong with the business recieving the money if they pass away. All my employees are in their 20's so its not worth putting it on them. My employees showed major disgust over the situation. I told them they will have an option of purchasing a similiar policy from the same caompany for their own parents as well. They told me I was out of my mind. I already offer my employees 401(k), health, dental, and a few other things. I think its a good business decision. But some say if I ask for their parent's socials, they quit. So, what do I do?
--------------------
Just because something is a good business decision doesn't make it correct. This plan of yours is wrong because if they die and you get paid out for it, you won't be the one who's life is torn apart or in danger of losing your house, it'd just be like winning the lottery. People get life insurance so that they won't lose everything when the income is gone. You can easily just hire someone else, a temp even if it's that urgent. It's a morbid plan in poor taste that benefits off the misfortunes of others and right smacks of schadenfreude. No wonder your employees are upset. Have a little compassion in your business dealings.

I have a full time job that sometimes nears 100 hours a week....how can i make some more $$?

The reasoning behind this is after some unfortunate events i need a lot of dental work. And i've exhausted my dental insurance allotment for the year. I'm pretty much available for my job 24/7....so im thinking it needs to be on the internet
--------------------
you could try online surveys. www.surveyspot.com is pretty good. Me and my fiance are both signed up with it. It really works too. All you do is take surveys...some pay and some dont but it tells u before you start it. Dont waste your time with the ones that dont pay. Once you start taking surveys it takes about 3 weeks to get the money in your surveyspot account. So dont freak out if its not there right away. Once you have over $5.00 in your account you can tell them to send you the check. That also takes about 2-3 weeks. Good luck!! =]

I have pet isnurance (vca), is it to much for vet to quote 700 for dental work for my dog?

He needs teeth cleaning and IM not sure if he needs an extraction but if he does it would cost me 300-700 bucks....pet insurance only pays 65 bucks overall of all costs? Are pet insurances working off quota system?
--------------------
VCA is a big company; their primary interest is in making money, not caring lovingly for pets. I would go to a locallly based vet and get a second opinion. I went to VCA in Savannah once. Their rates for services were 30 to 40% higher than good old Dr. Marley who ran his own office with 2 assistants. I would definitely shop around and I wouldn't bother with pet insurance. If they will only pay $65 of a $700 bill, he insurance is not worth the money. Good luck!

CSEA UNion Vision and dental benefits?

i tried contacting my union for benefits which they provide but its sat and theyre not open to give me more info. i wanted to make an appointment to a dentist... what do i need to bring in to my apponintment in order to get my benefits through them. i also have nys empire plan insurance but they dont cover vision and dental. do i still need to bring my nyship card / (empire plan card*) to this appointment?
--------------------
You will need to take your benefit card if you have one. This provides the office with the address to send claims to. If you have any current x-rays, bring them with you as well. If the office you go to is a provider for CSEA (in network) they will likely have a fee schedule and know what it covered under your plan. A pre-treatment estimate will be sent to insurance company for any major work you may need. Good luck!

My company offers health insurance but its a dumb plan?

well they dont have like a set insurace. They have this guy who sells insurance policies and he signed me up for one but it sucks. I have like this $5000 deductible and they are real strick and what not. My job pays 50% and I pay the other. My boss said I am allowed to find a different insurance if I want and they will still pay 50%. I would like one that doesnt have a deductible and like offers dental also. Any ideas? Thank you.
--------------------
I don't think you're going to find any policy on your own that's affordable, has no deductible and coves dental. You have a wonderful boss, btw. Most companies wouldn't help you pay your premium from a different plan. I'd call an insurance broker. They can go through various plans to help you find one that you like better. Good luck. My insurance premiums went from under $40 to over $200 per month, and my deductible goes up every year. I hope you find something better for yourself in your area.

My dentist said I need a root canal and it will be $2,600! Any idea how to get this on the cheap?

I have dental insurance, but it is not very good.
--------------------
That's exceedingly high. Does this include an immediate crown? Even then, it sounds REALLY high by about 500$, minimum. Try calling other endodontists and comparing out of pocket cost. My crowns, porcelian over noble metal, were 500$ roughly. My root canals were covered, but my boyfriend currently needs a root canal and we've been getting out of pocket quotes for roughly 1,000$. The tooth only abscesses or breaks apart if a crown is not applied within a reasonable amount of time. Both of my front teeth were crowned almost 10 years ago and I have had no trouble what so ever from the root canals or crowns. Once the tooth starts turning color after the root canal has been done, you will need a crown fairly shortly. It doesn't always have to be done immediately. A root canal is intended as preperation for a crown to save the tooth.

Is it to late to get this cavity filled?

If i have a cavit that hurts slightly is it to late to fill it, b/c my parents can't afford a route canal no (dental insurance) and i dont want to get it pulled
--------------------
Cavities that only hurt slightly are usually able to get filled. Just try not to chew on the side where the cavity is until you see the dentist on Thursday. Good luck. P.S. Always remember to floss your teeth. Not flossing regularly is the number one reason for cavities.

how do i find insurance threw work force services that is 25.00 a year?

this is offered at 25.00 a year & covers aprox. 70 % of dental 70 % health this is limited and on timer that ends at the end of the month TODAY
--------------------
Yep, you need a lot more details on this. They aren't offering 70% of dental and medical costs. This is a scam. You're not seeing the clauses that read "you must use only our office" or "we don't pay anything" or "coverage limited to maximum payout of $25 a year". You can't even buy into a discount plan at that cost. So this is just a scam to get your $25 and run.

Do chefs get any benefits such as medical, dental, etc?

I Am interested in becoming a chef and I would like to know what kind of benefits you get from being a chef like health insurance and stuff. It would be cool if a chef could actually answer this but if you are for sure you know then please let me know as soon as possible.
--------------------
It depends where they work. Chefs in large hotels in Las Vegas do get benefit packages. In small family owned businesses they often don't (my family owned a restaurant for years, but the cost of offering benefits went up every year until it became impossible to continue to offer them). Plan on working in a large city in a corporate owned restaurant and you will get benefits.

If you work in a dental office or have had IV sedation please answer this question?

I am going to have to have like 5 teeth pulled (4 wisdom and 1 regular.) My "insurance" will cover the actual extractions and the X-rays and such, but I don't think they will cover IV sedation. Sorry, but I am a chicken and I will not have anything done unless I am asleep because of a bad past experience. 1) How much average does it cost to have IV sedation done? (This is an office the takes mostly Medicaid patients and that's what my insurance is.) 2) If I paid for like half of it and they billed me a few months for the rest do you think the oral surgeon would do it? (I could pay for the whole thing if it was under $200)
--------------------
Hi! I had my wisdom teeth out almost a year ago. Like you,my insurance would not cover the sedation. It was so worth it though. They put the needle in and I was asleep in seconds. When I woke up it was all done. The fee was 85 dollars. The dentist let me do payments on the total that my insurance did not cover. Most offices are usually pretty good with payments.
