Has anyone tried the Viazi Fast Braces?

I had traditional braces about a year ago and had them removed early against doctors orders. I'm 24 but I look 16 so the traditional braces made me look very juvenile. I was supposed to have them for 3 years. I already know about inviaglign but my dental insurance won't cover it. The fast braces claim to be a lot cheaper than traditional. I don't want to have to pay a lot out of pocket. And most of all Do They Work? If anyone has had them or any dentist with any knowledge of them could help me it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
--------------------
I am an orthodontist and I have never heard of this (already a bad sign). It is probably either some type of a surgical procedure or a system that uses increased forces or more frequent activations. It doesn't really matter what it is, because there is no safe way to speed up the process of orthodontics. Orthodontic tooth movement is a physiological process that occurs naturally at a slow rate (0.5 - 1mm / per month on average)* - anything trying to take a "shortcut" is unsafe, a scam, or both - do not do this or you will regret it.

What are you suppose to do?

If you have no dental insurance and no money and a tooth that broke close to the gum line.
--------------------
Most likely no doctor will help you if you don't have any insurance. So go call a insurance for dentist i guess?

what's the cost of pulling out a tooth?

i have this big tooth right smack behind my top back molars. it's been bugging me for the last few years now but i haven't gotten the chance to go to a dentist to check it out. i've had this tooth ever since childhood. i could've had it taken out but i was too afraid of the pain then. now as i'm getting older it's been bothering me and i want it pulled out. i'll be recieving dental insurance through my work place and i want to know how much this will cost. this is the first thing i want to fix before everything else. can anyone one tell me the cost of this?
--------------------
First of all I would think it depends on where you live. Second, just call around and ask the price. Be sure and tell them you don't have insurance. Some places do charge more when they know you have insurance. I had a wisdom tooth pulled about a year ago. He charged me $269.00 I about had a heart attack. Somebody told me to call around and ask. I got my second wisdom tooth pulled for $125.00 I don't know if wisdom teeth are harder to pull and cost more, but my last tooth was just pulled last March. $125 is still outrageous for 2 minutes work.

I'm 21 years old and my wisdom teeth are just now growing in. what should I do?

Two of my wisdom teeth are growing but it's not painful at all. The annoying thing is that one of them is still halfway underneath my gums so left over food gets stuck in there. It's hard to get it out. what should I do? Also should I be worried about getting them removed? They do not hurt at all. The problem is I don't have dental insurance so I KNOW it's going to be very expensive. HELP ME!
--------------------
I have that problem too. My wisdom teeth didn't come in until I was in my early 20's. I didn't think they completely grew in, because there was some skin over the tops. Food would get stuck under the skin and would case an irritation. I went to my dentist, and he said there wasn't much I could do. The problem is not that your wisdom teeth are growing in, it is that when they grew in a little skin flap remains. Eventually that skin flap will wear away. Because my wisdom teeth don't pose a problem with impacting the other teeth in my mouth, my dentist said any surgery to remove my wisdom teeth was really not necessary. Because I don't have dental insurance I decided not to have them removed. The best thing to do is to keep your teeth clean. Brush regularly, and avoid foods like popcorn and peanuts, that get caught up under the skin flap.

Can I go to a dentist and have them smooth off my mamellons...?

How much will it cost? I don't have dental insurance now... or yet at least. And would they actually do it if I asked them to?
--------------------
Yes, you can do that. I don't charge anything to do it, but some dentists may charge a fee. That being said I would only do it for free if someone came in and was getting their teeth cleaned or something like that. You will not have any sensitivity to have the small bit of enamel recontoured. Don't even need to numb you up to do it. Are done asking this same question over and over?

Need advice on chipped teeth?

I have 2 front teeth that are chipped: one badly chipped tooth that I've always wanted to fix, and another recently chipped one that's not horrible but kinda ruins the smile. I would imagine dental insurance won't cover for a veneer because it's just cosmetic. How about a crown? Which do you recommend? Any other suggestions? I've heard about porcelain crowns, how natural looking are they? and how much? If you could give me some pros & cons for each option with the price, that would be great. Thank you in Advance.
--------------------
Unless necessary your insurance won't pay for a crown. They tooth needs to be drastically reduced to fit the crown on. You're basically ruining a perfectly healthy tooth for cosmetic reasons. Porcelain veneers would be the way to go. See if your dentist would let you finance it. CareCredit is usually good about extending credit for dental work. It's what my office uses.

Teeth loss prevention?

I lost dental insurance ever since I turned 18 and haven't been to the dentist since. I'm now going on 20 and need to know how to preserve my teeth before they fall out. Any effective home remedies?
--------------------
There are many reasons for tooth loss, and most of them are related to your oral hygiene practices. Like tooth decay, gum disease which can be caused when your diet and oral hygiene practice do not match well. You need to rinse the mouth properly after every meal and brush twice a day, and if you can, then flossing is also helpful. Other factors are tooth injury, and some general conditions which are not related to how well you maintain the oral hygiene. Smoking and tobacco chewing etc. habits if you have any, would slowly lead to destruction of tissue around teeth, leading to loose tooth later.

how can i get into modeling?

i have always wanted to model. i have always been petite. i get lots of compliments that i am a very pretty girl. Only problem is i don't have straight teeth. Do modeling agencies work on things like that? i don't have dental insurance or the money to fix them so much. They aren't horrid lol but could use a little fixin :)
--------------------
unfortunately, model agencies don't really go for the pretty girls. they look for something with more of an edge, and who you would perhaps not expect to be a model. Also, if youre hoping to be a runway type of model, you would have to be pretty tall. Catalogue modelling would be the best for you, they usually take pretty girls, and your body doesn't matter. Get yourself hooked up with some modelling agencies, see what they say, and start from there.

Would you feel bad taking advantage of an insurance company?

Lets say for example you currently had NO dental coverage, but then you see you have a cavity, so you call and for $9.42 a month you can have full dental added, so you add it. Then a week goes by and you get your dental card in the mail, make an appoitment, and 4 cavities and a lot of other work done, not to mention a bill for $1,200 you are done. Your co-pay was $50, and that is all you pay. 2 months go by, after everything is settled by your insurance company and you cancel your dental, do you feel bad??? is that illegal?
--------------------
For 9.42 a month, I'd leave the dental coverage on and not take it off. Do you think that dental work is all you will ever need to have done? How about your cleaning every 6 months so you don't get more cavities? How about if you bite down to hard on a piece of hard candy and break a tooth? How about one of those fillings falls out and needs to be replaced? You can't just add the dental each time you need it -- your HR or health insurance company is not that stupid.

Does anyone know of any dentists that accept payments in the Rochester, NY area?

I have right around $2,900 worth of work to do that my insurance won't cover, and I was seen at Aspen Dental and attempted to apply for CareCredit, but I haven't had stable credit long enough. A cosigner may not be an option. Are there any other programs similar to CareCredit that I could apply for? Are there any dentists that accept longterm payments without a credit check? Thanks!
--------------------
You may have to travel for this, but I think upstate NY there is Alt of medical schools up there. You could call one of SUNY campuses to find out if they have a clinic where students learn. (I think they do help people out in need)

Need to do root canal. Dont have the money. What are my options?

I am having pain in one of my tooth and need to get root canal done which will cost something like $700. I don't have that much money.... I am an international student at a US university and only have basic health insurance from my university. My insurance does not cover dental charges Are there any options for me! Where could I go for help…?
--------------------
If your university happens to have a dental program, I'd make an appointment in their clinic and see how much it would cost there. They are generally MUCH cheaper than a normal dentist. Better yet, if you have a friend in the program, and they need someone to bring to class and practice on, volunteer! It's usually free. And the students are well trained before hand and have a seasoned dentist supervising them, so don't be worried that they'll accidently fix the wrong tooth or anything. And students are often much more attentive than actual dentists, as they're being graded for their work. FYI, the same goes across the board, dental hygenist students, cosmetologist students, all do a better job in school than the liscensed pros do in real life.

What would be the best way to approach dentists about joining our provider list?

I'm working for a dental savings service, which is similar to a preffered provider organization. Basically we have dentists sign up with us and agree to give our members 30% off on dental costs. This is mutually beneficial because dentists get more customers and give them the 30% they'd give the customer anyway if they had insurance, and our members save money. We are working to expand this to Los angeles. What is the best way to approach a dentist to joining our provider list.
--------------------
Write them a letter explaining how your service could increase their patient load. Point out the benefits to them, such as advertising and incentives (for them and their patients, such as free toothbrushes and other supplies). Give them statistics on their local area as to the number of people use YOUR service already. Point out specifics from their office that would set them apart from other providers on your current list that would help them get more patients, for example targeting an office that specializes in TMJ treatment in adults or an orthodontist's office that specializes in adult treatment or one that does lingual braces --- show the office how their office would be unique to having an assoication with your company. Point out how your company needs an office like theirs that specializes in "something" that many of the other offices on your list do not.

What do I do if my health care provider refuses to obey new health care bill?

My fiance has no dental and is 25 years of age. We are not to be married till next year to put her under mine so until then her parents called their insurance company Aetna to put her and her younger sister (23) back on their plan. Aenta refused and said we will not be following the new bill until they are "forced" to. I don't know what to do now.
--------------------
Perhaps YOU should learn the rules and deadlines. 4. Parents' insurance plans can cover young adult children longer. Covers: Young adults under the age of 27. Starts: Sept. 23, 2010. What it does: Before reform, young adults who reached the age of 19 were no longer eligible for coverage under their parents' insurance plans unless they were enrolled in high school or college. With health care reform, parents' insurance will cover their offspring up to age 26, allowing thousands of young adults without coverage to sidestep the pricey individual insurance market.

Is there a good way to restore lost gum line?

I have recently been doing some 'at home' dental work on myself, and scraped away a good 5 years of plauqe. Well, underneath all the plauqe is nothingness, where gum used to be, and I'd like to get it back so that I can have a full healthy smile. However, I lack insurance and the money to see a dentist. Is there any way I can get my gum line back without spending a lot of money? Is it even possible to regrow gum line?
--------------------
No, there is no way to regrow or restore a receded gum line. Options that an orthodontist could discuss with you would be to cover the exposed roots with porcelain, which would make it look better and reduce root sensitivity. More aggressive option would be gingival transplants, but these are less predictable. As always, discuss these and any questions with your physician. Most public health systems include some measure of basic dental care, so check your local services.

How long does it take to get a crown?

I busted my tooth about six months ago, and had a permanent filling put in, but my dentist said I would need a crown within the year. I was going to get it done around that time, but my insurance ran out, so I had to wait until July. My appointment is next Tuesday. What will happen then and will I be able to do things later in the day(app at 10am)? I do recover from dental procedures very easily and have no pain after fillings or an extraction.
--------------------
They are going to take an impression, remove the filling, reshape the tooth (shave it into a nub) then they will take another impression, they will send that impression to a dental lab where a crown will be fabricated. It takes 2-3 weeks to get a crown back from the lab. But until then they will make you a temporary acyrlic crown right there in the office to wear until the perminant one comes in. You can go back to doing what ever you were gonna do that day as soon as the anestheic wears off (about an hour or so)

How much is the Public Option going to cost an individual ?

And how much is it going to cost a family? What is the deductible going to be? Is it going to cover dental? Will it cover prescriptions? Will it cover wheel chairs? Extended stay in Nursing homes? In House Nursing? How much is the fine person for not having health insurance? How much is the fine per household? How much is the fine for employers? Thanks...I can not find the answers to these questions anywhere and I thought that seeing how everyone here is so ready to just on the boat with this Public Option you would have the answers....
--------------------
For those people that already have insurance the public option would save them money. I was in Canada when they changed from a system similar to the one we have here to single payer. The first change was that I received a few hundred extra dollars in my pay stub as the employer no longer paid for my medical. I received better medical and felt better knowing some of the money I paid went to help poor children instead of wealthy insurance companies. The current bill is for the insurance companies and not for the public!

i want a decent affordable insurance but also don't want some cheap one either. anyone has this insurance? i know the price is good on this one. but do you get decent treatment from doctors and front desk? i know unless the doctors and staffs are saint, most of them treat patient differently according to their insurance because different insurance pays differently for same treatment. so, if a patient has cheap insurance that doesn't pay doctors well, they try to treat patients as fast as possible and etc. how is HMO for health insurance? i know it sucks for dental. How much is your fertility drugs/ fertility consultant fees from Kaiser Permanante?

I have insurance threw Kaiser and have the 2,700 deductable plan. I pay 109 every month for health and dental. I was wondering if anyone else has the same plan and is currently going through fertility treatment and how much they are paying. I will be seeking fertility treatment soon and would like to know the cost ahead of time. Thanks!
--------------------
Wow you must have Kaiser through your work? I have Kaiser through an "individual" rather than "work" plan and they told me they don't cover fertility treatments in their individual plans. =( So I pay out of pocket. Meds for one month = $500, ultrasounds $150, insemination $300. Your cost will obviously be less since they are covering you. Invitro is in the thousands, but we haven't gotten there yet. EDIT -- I forgot to say that because they did not cover infertility treatments in the "individual plan," they refused to let me use their infertility services even though I was willing to pay them out of pocket -- some liability issue or something. Their infertility services are only for people that are covered by the infertility insurance. So I had to go out of the Kaiser system for my infertility treatments. I live in Los Angeles if that makes any difference -- maybe Kaiser is different where you live.
