Anybody Know Any Dental Insurance That Covers Under-bite Surgery?

I have a class 3 under-bite (prety severe), I have been looking for an oral surgeon in San Diego county and was wondering if anybody knew of any insurance that would cover atleast part of the surgery. I have heared that most PPO dental insurances should cover some if not all and also that Kaiser Permanente might have full cover on it. Does anybody know an insurance that covers under-bite surgery?

I would like to suggest to try to get as much information as you could before making up your mind, here    www.HealthInsuranceFree.info/dental.html    is a very resourceful one.

Alternative to braces, covered by separate dental insurance?

is there a good alternative to braces? will a separate dental insurance plan cover most cosmetic procedures?
--------------------
Invisiline( don't know if i spelled that right). but it depends on how bad your teeth are. what the dentist does is charge the insuranse for the braces fee and you pay the difference.

I need to know the best dental insurance to get?

Me and my husband both need to go to the dentist. I went before my insurance ended with my mom before getting married, and I had alot of things wrong that need fixed. He hasn't ever been to a dentist and has to absess. I need 3 fillings and a mouth cleaning for early signs of peradontal disease or whatever. Whats the best dental insurance to get to cover the high costs of all this. Neither job offers benifits, and money is not a problem, I just need the best dental insurance offered, no matter how much a month. please help! Thanks
--------------------
The best dental insurance would be one that someone else (i.e. your employer) would pay for! Seeing how that is not an option, the only two types of dental plans that you can purchase on your own and that would make sense would be a PPO plan. However, the problem with these types of plans is that you would still have to wait at least three months before coverage would take effect, and you would still have to pay some money up front to the dentist for any work you have done. The best place to investigate and or purchase this type of coverage online would be http://www.einsurance.com The second type of dental coverage that would work for you would be a discount dental plan as they have no waiting periods and the savings are substantial; on average between 30% to 40%. However, these plans only give you a discount at the dentist so expect to pay for all your dental services at the time they are rendered because there is no billing with these plans. The best place to investigate and/or purchase this type of dental coverage would be http://www.discountdental4u.net

Are veneers usually covered with Dental Insurance like Blue Cross?

I am interested in getting veneers on my teeth I have Dental insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield but I don't think it covers veneers does anyone know whether it does or not?
--------------------
No, Blue Cross/Blue Shield is probably not going to cover this treatment, as it is primarily an aesthetic restoration. However, if your dental provider can certify that it is the treatment of choice for functional restorations to replace missing, decayed, or fractured portions of the teeth, then they might help you pay for the process.

When do you start taking Dental / Vision insurance for kids ?

At what age do you include your kids in dental, vision insurance ? I have a 3 yr old. Isn't it too early for her dental cleanups ? For vision I understand she could develop difficulty in seeing anytime but can I take her to her PCP for that ?
--------------------
my 17 months old has been to the eye doctor to check for lazy eye and the insurance was helpful for sure. As for dental....you are already behind the curve. They want to start seeing babies at 12 months or with their first tooth. I just brought my daughter in to the dentist for the first time as an emergency when I noticed her tooth turning black (which I thought was from a falling injury but was really stained from iron supplements). If she would have needed a root canal plus other stuff it would have been thousands and I was thanking God she was on my dental insurance!! I wouldn't wait....

This morning a chunk of my back molar tooth fell off and I have no dental insurance.?

This morning a chunk of my back molar tooth fell off and I have no dental insurance. Is this now considered a "pre-existing condition" that wont be covered by most insurances. I am looking for a good cheap way to get this fixed, any feedback would be great! There is a "Comfort Dental" by my house would they fix my tooth if I picked up their "Gold" plan???
--------------------
Many dental plans have a waiting period for major dentistry and a crown is considered major dentistry. Ask before you sign up for any plan. sometimes it is less expensive to just pay for it out of pocket. Dental insurance does not deny benefits for something that is pre-existing except in the case of birth defects. The nurse is incorrect. A crown does not require a root canal, it is the other way around. If your tooth has broken deep enough, you may need a root canal. You may also need a crown build up. This is where very small pins are placed in a tooth and a filing material is used to build the tooth back up so that there is enough structure to place the crown on. The least expensive way to fix this for now is to have it extracted, but this will end up costing more in the long run. It will need to be replaced at some point and replacing a tooth is very costly. It is never a good idea to look for cheap dentistry. You get what you pay for. Most dentists take credit cards so you do have that option. Good Luck

I need secondary dental insurance, any ideas on who?

I went to the dentist yesterday and after my dental insurance is covered with everything I'm paying 1500 out of pocket! I need to have a lot of work done to my mouth but I'm not sure if it would be smart to get secondary insurance or not. I have to have a periodontal treatment done and that is 2k without insurance and 680 without..would it be smart to get a secondary dental insurance? Any ideas on who?

Dental Insurance that has a high Max Annual Benefit?

Looking online, I see that most Dental Insurance "Max Annual Benefit" is typically 1500 per year. I recently was told that I may need some dental surgery that will cost an upward of 6000. Since Dental bills are so outrageous, are the any dental plans that cover a procedure of this magnitude, or are most people stuck with paying most of the bill out of pocket? I've never had dental insurance, so please excuse the ignorance. Thanks :)
--------------------
You could look into a discount dental plan as an option. I don't think that they have max annual benefits. I have located a website that compares discount dental plans, as I only have personal experience with Ameriplan. I will list both sites as sources. You should compare their monthly premiums, local providers, and savings on your dental surgery. Also, some plans offer additional discount coverages, like vision and prescription, so you might compare that also.

Attention all dentists out there--can you recommend a dental insurance that's worth getting?

For someone who works for a cheap company and doesn't properly care for their hard working employees? Yes, we need SOMETHING to help w/dental care. Maybe an insurance company who's actually worth it [saving us money instead of robbing us blind] pls advise, thanks
--------------------
Getting insurance for yourself is costly and not very practical. Insurance companies that force you to see someone off of a list aren't so hot. Companies that provide "indemnity" plans or PPO (preferred provider option) are generally the better types of plans. Most companies have these plans available, but need to be purchased through the employer.

[ i know right!] but any how we don't have dental insurance and i was wondering is there anywhere he can go like a free clinic or something? we live in East bay California any help would be great thanks! no rude comments please
--------------------
Try the following: 1) Neighborhood clinics/Public Health Dept - low cost dental care based on your income - call your local health dept for more information 2) Dental schools - you will be treated by students under the supervision of their instructors - save anywhere from 20%-60% 3) Charitable or religious organizations - check with your state dental board Hope this helps.

Concordia Dental Insurance to help pay for braces?

Depends if you get it with or without waiting periods for braces. If you have waiting periods, forget it. It won't pay for itself. As an alternative that pays, consider http://dentalservice4less.com/orthodonti… Good luck

Should I drop my lame dental insurance and go to the dentist today?

I don't have health or dental insurance from my work so I bought a dental HMO from Dental Health Services a year ago when I needed a root canal. Come to find out they paid ten dollars for the office visit and like 5 out of 35 for the xrays. THATS IT!!! Meanwhile they have been milking my account for 20 a month. I have a bad toothache that needs treatment but coud wait till monday when my selected physician may be able to treat me. But I tried to call her office all day Friday but no one ever answered or returned my message even though they where open. Seeing as to how my insurance covers almost none of this should I just go to the dentist today and pay out of pocket? I think I have a couple cavities...If I wait till monday I might just end up being told they can't see me until later in the week. This dental insurance costs me more than it helps really considering they pay for very few of the procedures and the little they do pay is 1-5%
--------------------
Most insurances cover the costs of xrays and fillings, that's it. Visits require a copay of $5-$45. Most don't cover root canals or expensive procedures 100%. You would have a copay. Before cutting it off, I would contact them asap and see what the copays are. If they covered part of ur root canal, they would cover what is bothering u now. Even if they do only cover 1-5%, it's still better than paying 100% out of pocket. Also call to see if u can switch to another dentist asap since this one seems not to want any business. Then ask if they offer emergency services for ur toothache. I would use the insurance first. If all else fails I would just cancel it. $20 seems about right. I pay $40 here in CA with an employer and my husband pays $25 without one (higher copays). Check out ehealthinsurance.com. Most have dental too. Good luck!

How do I get dental insurance in NJ?!?!?

I was just recently dropped off my fathers insurance plan. I am currently 23 and have a lot of major dental work that needs to be done. I've gone online in search of dental insurance in new jersey, but it seems non existent. All they have available are discounts programs. These programs are not insurance. It seems know one offers dental insurance to individuals in NJ. My job does not either, and without some I'm in big trouble. Can anyone help me?? Thanks

does individual dental insurance make dental work cheaper?

i need to have 3 wisdom teeth removed, about 4 root canals 1 or 2 extractions and some filling. would individual dental insurance really help me save any money or am i better off financing through a dentist office and getting a discount plan?
--------------------
This is actually a difficult question to answer. There are so many different types of plans that it is hard to say. If this is private insurance, which you would be paying for yourself, usually insurance companies have a waiting period for major procedures, and possibly a waiting period for basic services. Insurance plans have a maximum that they allow per year, usually between $1,000 - $2,000 dollars depending on the plan. It sounds like with the amount of treatment you need done, that the maximum will be met before you get everything you need treated completed. Once the maximum for the year is met, everything there after is your responsiblity to pay, and you still have the monthly premiums to pay. Also ins. comp. have their usual and customary rates ( this means that they have a set rate for which they will pay for each procedure), anything above that will be the patients responsibility. So if you have a extraction that costs $250, and they ony allow $175, you still will be responsible for the remaining balance, on top of your insurance premium for the month. (Unless you have a plan that the dentist is a preferred provider for.)If the the cost of the premium of the insurance outweighs the benefits that you will use, then I would skip the insurance and pay out of pocket. You will need to research what benefits you will get out of the plans you are interested in, and weigh the benefits. I hope this helps.

Dental insurance - if I find some to purchase, does it cover pre-existing conditions?

I have a broken crown, heard it'd be about $1000 to repair. Any kind of dental insurance would probably help with the cost, but not if it doesn't cover pre-existing. Yet if it covers pre-existing, seems like they'd lose money. Any feedback on this?
--------------------
Be sure to read all the fine print before you sign up. They are required to present all the terms. Sometimes they have a shiny brochure, but ask for the complete policy.

How do I get dental insurance?

I need dental insurance with a policy because Im young and need my wisdom teeth to be extracted. I'm thinking about United Concordia because. When buying a policy, if I mention I need it to extract my teeth, would that have an impact on anything at all? any recommendations? I'm 21
--------------------
I feel your pain. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out when I was 14 under my parents policy. Fast forward 17 years later. I am now self employed and I have my own plan. It costs about $10 and they will save you a ton of money. Definitely worth it. Your only other option is to pay out of pocket wit no sort of plan and that will add up way to fast. i just went to the dentist the other day for my annual 6 month cleaning and it was free. Another benefit of this plan is that you can choose which dentist you would like to have. I have been around the block with dentists. I can tell you for a fact that if you show up at a dental office with no sort of plan they will gouge you.

What is the best dental insurance?

Which is the better dental insurance ,Bluecross/bluesheild or Delta Dental?Have you used these dental insurances before?
--------------------
We use Delta; however, we were told by our state provider of our pension benefit that both offered identical coverage here. From what I was able to research, and from conversation with my dentist's billing/collections clerk who does all the filing, she says that the only difference she can see is that Delta pays a few days sooner than BC/BS.

I am looking up to find dental coverage for myself and came across this. I never used it so I don't know how well it is. BUT I hope that it is of some use for you. You don't know unless you apply for it and see what they end up telling you about this. Finally . . . The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company dental plans offer: NO DEDUCTIBLE and NO WAITING PERIOD for preventive services ORTHODONTIA coverage - optional coverage under age 19 The ability to choose ANY DENTIST you want A LOW $50 DEDUCTIBLE for all other services (Restorative, Oral Surgery, Periodontics, etc.) Then the plan pays on a scheduled basis.1 These insurance plans and benefits may vary by state, click here* for more information. 1All plans are underwritten by The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company. Contact the company for complete description of benefits and any restrictions, exclusions and limitations that apply. Association Group plans require Association membership. MEGA is licensed in all states except NY. The company's market and plan availability varies by state. Edit: I just saw the other part of your inquiry and you list that you have delta and they cover it some. That is more than others do in general. I have had braces and my daughter needed them as well, I had to make a payment plan and pay 1/2 upfront for her's before they would do any work then. If you started the work with an orthodontist already and need to switch to another one due to insurance reasons there aren't any I found or ran across that would do work in this that another orthodontist started on already. Be sure you like the work of the one that you choose or chose to have do this.
