In NYS how does a POP (pre-Tax) plan work for AFLAC, health, & Dental Insurance?

Specifically; my payroll service has a client that has AFLAC accident insurance and Health & Dental insurance. They claim to have the AFLAC and dental insurance pre-taxed but not the health? I need to make sure we deduct properly.
--------------------
The AFLAC accident and dental insurance would be covered under the clients section 125 plan and should be set up accordingly. I would verify that the medical isn't part of this plan. The only thing I know through AFLAC that wasn't covered with my old employer was Long Term Care.

Where can I buy Health and Dental Insurance online?

My husband and I both work but neither one of our employers offers health or dental insurance. Where can I go online to look at different plans? We live in the state of Georgia. Also...does Dental insurance normally come with Health insurance or do you have to purchase it separately?
--------------------
Why do you want to buy it online? Great way to get scammed, buying it online. Also, it's a great way to have your identity stolen - trust me, if someone can impersonate a paypal website, they can impersonate an insurance company website. Plus, if you buy it online, how do you know it's going to be VALID in your state? How do you know your emails won't start bouncing as soon as they get your bank account info? You don't. Buy from a local agent. Dental insurance comes seperately. AND, private plans almost ALWAYS cost more than they pay out. I've NEVER seen a private dental plan where YOU come out ahead, due to deductibles, copays, and waits.

You know how insurance companies make you wait 6 months between dental cleanings?

If I change insurance providers, will I still have to wait 6 months from my last cleaning? I'm only going to be home slightly less than 6 months from my last cleaning. I'll have a new dental insurance provider then too.
--------------------
Some make you wait exactly six months, some allow two cleanings per calendar year and some allow two in a 12 month period. Some even allow three or four cleanings a year. Are you sure that yours has the six months to the day frequency policy? Call and ask if you are not sure. And if you change insurance companies, and it is not through an employer, you should be fine to have your cleaning a little early.

Can medical / dental insurance costs including premiums paid PRE-TAX be tax deductible?

Can dental / health insurance premiums paid pre-tax and deducted from my paycheck be considered in itemized deduction?
--------------------
yes they can, any medical expense including ones from your pretaxed income, can be added on the scedule a. the only exception would be if your employer paid for the insurance. if you pay for it, you can include it. i am a tax preparer and i am sure of this. now the only limit would be getting you over the thresehold of %2 of your agi.

Can you use the sliding scale program some dentisits offer if you have dental insurance?

I need a lot of dental work done, which is going to cost a few thousand dollars. I am a military dependent (spouse) and have dental insurance. However, the insurance only covers about $1,000 per year (or so I was told). I need to have my teeth fixed this year. So I was wondering if you have insurance, will dentists still allow you to be part of the sliding scale program? Thanks.
--------------------
They may. That changes from dentist to dentist. And dentists set the prices, so just talk with them, and they may be willing to allow you on their given the situation. Another option is adding a dental discount plan to your current insurance. Those do not have a maximum, and cost very little to purchase. What you could do with that is use your insurance first on one day, that way you get the full benefit of that plan, and then on another day, use the discount plan for any proceedure after that. The best one in my opinion is one called the Careington 500 Series Plan. You can purchase it for $6.95 a month, and the start up fee is $20 but it does start right away. There are some other ones out there, but most of the others don't save as much or offer it on a monthly payment. You can get that plan at 1Dental.com. Just make sure that the dentist takes both, whatever plan you decide. But again before doing that talk to the dentist, sometimes they are more willing to work with you whenever you ask them about other options. Hope that helps.

Is their a dental insurance in AZ for individuals?

We recently moved to Az my husbands job does not have very good dental before we moved we discovered that I am going to need overbite surgery-its causing alot of problems - headaches, earpain, swore jaw, but to make a long story short , I am having trouble finding a individual dental insurance here that doesn't have an annual maxium of more than a $1000 and that covers overbite correction.
--------------------
If the overbite is causing you medical problems it might be covered by your health insurance. Dental insurance usually won't cover you because it is considered either cosmetic or medical. No dental insurance plan is very good; they'll all have a maximum and a waiting period for major work. The best policy that I have in AZ has a maximum of $1500 and a waiting period of 24 months. You could try a dental school; AZ has one in the Phoenix area: http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Den… Here are a couple of links for dental insurance: https://www.hpainsurance.com/qt/SecureDe… https://www.hpainsurance.com/qt/SmileDen… You can also try a fee for service discount plan. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan, specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered. You can check them out here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access

How much/who are the personal health/dental insurance providers?

I'd like to know a bit about personal health insurance, considering most things on the internet are spam from scammers I'd prefer to know what the average person actually does when their job doesn't offer health insurance. I'm especially interested in dental insurance providers. Thanks for any information you can provide concerning this.

I used my dental insurance to get braces. But i didnt wear my retainers because i was smaller and didnt care?

So i was wondering if my mom could use my sisters dental insurance for me? Or is there another way I can get Braces?
--------------------
No, your mother can't use your sister's dental insurance to cover work in your mouth. That's illegal, and would get you all in trouble if you tried. You may be able to get braces with your own insurance, if the teeth have reshifted out of position again. Or you may have to pay out of pocket, making the arrangements with the dentist. It's called paying the consequences for bad decisions. Sometimes it's just more expensive to learn a lesson the hard way than others.

How much does it cost to get your wisdom teeth taken out with dental insurance?

Im fourteen I just got my braces off I got an xray back from my ortho that showed my wisdom teeth, the roots havent grown on them yet and they havent erupted yet. My orthodontist told me it may be easier to get them out if the roots havent grown yet. I live in Los Angeles and I have dental insurance. How much would it be to have all 4 of them extracted and to be put out the whole time while they are doing it?
--------------------
The price of removing 4 impacted wisdom teeth with IV sedation will be around $2200. Most insurances will pay at least 80% of this. Some pay less and some pay more. You'll have to check with your insurance company or let the dentist find out the information for you. Good luck.

Is it possible for dental insurance to cover filling a chipped tooth?

Okay, so I called my insurance (delta dental), and I asked them if they covered filling a chipped tooth, and they said yes. Then, when I went to go see the dentist he told me it's cosmetic and that my insurance won't cover it. I told him my insurance already told me that they did, and he responded by telling me that no insurance covers anything cosmetic. Is this true, and did my insurance just lie to me or make a mistake?
--------------------
some do and some dont. Hear is what i suggest. 1. Check what the ADA (American Dental Association) code is for the procedure that they would do. They should give you that code, and then call your insuranceand ask them what they cover on that specific procedure, and here is why. Depending on how they fill the tooth, it may actually fall under a catagory for a normal filling, which means your insurance would pay money. So that is my first suggestion. Second is to buy something called a dental discount plan. You can have both that and a traditional insurance, but they usually do cover some on cosmetic procedures. I know for a fact the dental plan at http://www.1dental.com/ does cover some on cosmetic procedures. The things to check is if that dentist will be available on that discount plan. But what you might even be able to do to save even more is to use the discount plan at the dental office and then file the rest with your insurance personally, and that might drop the price significantly for you. So to summarize... 1. Ask the for the ADA code for the procedure. Those are standard codes that all dentist use. 2. Then call your insurance and see if they cover that specific ADA code and what that would cost. 3. If they do... GREAT! call the dentist and tell them, and or have your insurance tell them whats up. 3. Or if not... Get a discount plan, see what they cover on that ADA code and go to a dentist that uses that dental discount plan 4. Personally (because more than likely your dentist office wont want to) file the rest of what that trip to the dentist cost you, and they might send you some reimbursement. I hope that helps!

How to have inexpensive dental work done w/o insurance!?

I'm in college, my parents are about as broke as I am, and we no longer have medical or dental insurance. I am currently unemployed due to a layoff, and didn't have those benefits anyway. My wisdom teeth are definitely starting to emerge, and I feel as if any day now they're gonna pop up and I won't have the $500 per tooth to take care of this. Please, if anyone knows of resources in Orlando, I'll love you forever.
--------------------
Well a dental hygienist school will usually do cheap if not free dental cleaning and exams. Unfortunately they can't do much about wisdom tooth extraction, but I would suggest you go in and get a regular cleaning and x-rays and ask them about the wisdom teeth and they may be able to point you in the direction of a clinic that works with uninsured and low-income patients, that CAN do something about it. Just because your wisdom teeth might be coming in, that doesn't mean they will need to be extracted. As they're coming through the gums, you will feel discomfort, as you would with any tooth, but if your mouth is large enough they may just come in and be fine. Now, a problem emerges if the tooth becomes impacted, infected, doesn't come through entirely, or begins to crowd the mouth. That would be cause for extraction, but who knows....you might not need to do anything (unless you're in severe pain now). So I suggest you find a hygienist school and have a cleaning and x-rays first and go from there.

Dental insurance and Lumineers for teeth. Is there ever a way for insurance to pay?

I don't currently have insurance, but the job I'm hoping to get is said to have fantastic insurance. Is there ever a way to have Lumineers paid, in part or full, by dental insurance? If not, how much does it cost per tooth? How many are usually needed for a person with straight teeth...I was thinking 4 top and 4 bottom? Or more?
--------------------
I want Lumineer's too!! The cost is about $999 per tooth...ouch! I am getting them for the purpose of whitening. Mine have always been yellowish. It is genetic. http://www.MyBenefitsPlus.com/JRussell2 Check out our dental plan. We would offer a discount for this procedure. You can contact me through the site with any questions. (Most dental insurance will not cover any cosmetic...our dental plan does.) Good luck!!
