Does anyone know of dental insurance or a dicounted dental plan that covers invisaline ?

Ireally need my teeth fixed and this is my only option I went to the ortho and I just can't afford it I live in morris county NJ anyone know of an cheap orthodontists
--------------------
With the dental discount plan i have, you get a 25% discount on ortho work. I don't know the fee, but you would get the discount on it. I would need your zip in order to see how many providers are in your area. The plan itself is only $14.95/mo and also comes with vision, chiropractic and prescription discount plans.

--------------------
There's a company called AmeriPlan USA. They have a great discount dental referral service. It's not a health insurance, per se, but they have a program that gets you EXCELLENT discounts on braces, etc. (For $11.95 per month) They have a plan where you can get braces for about $2,500.00, but you don't have to pay it all at once. You get to pay over time by paying a certain amount per month. They also have vision, health, prescription, and chiropractic plans as well. I hope this helps you!

Dental, life, health insurance separate bills- can i pay with one check?

I get dental, health, and life insurance through the same company, but they send me a separate bill for each one... my policy number is the same on each bill so can I just send them one check instead of three?
--------------------
my health and dental is thu the same company and i get billed for one total. i have auto deduct from checking account so dont have to worry about monthly billing or paying late and get cancelled. why not call the company and ask if they can bill in 1 bill vs 3?

Do you think that dental work should be covered by regular health insurance plans?

I don't see why it isn't already. If your teeth get too bad, it can affect your brain. Are there any health insurance plans that include dental, or do you always have to get dental separate?
--------------------
Dental Insurance policies are separate from Health Insurance. Most policies will allow you to buy a rider including dental, but even still the policies rarely cover 100% of everything you need done or they have a low maximum. It would make life so much easier if dental was included on the health insurance, but for some reason teeth and eye are considered separate. I have worked with policies that are supose to cover dental if the dental procedures are a direct cause of an accident and still they require the sun, moon and the stars before they will pay and they only give an alotted time for all the work to be completed. If you have ever visited a nursing home you can see just how important teeth are for those who are frail and need to take in nourishment, it can come down to a life and death issue, what a shame.

do you guys know of a non-employer based dental insurance that covers orthodontics? Your help is appreciated.?

This is because my doctor advised me to have braces due to my real bad cross bite and my dental insurance that i got from my employer doesn't cover orthodontics. My dentist advised me to get a secondary dental insurance that covers orthodontics. That way, i would only have to pay a minimal amount. Please, please help! Thanks a lot! Take care.
--------------------
You should get your information about your health options first hand from licensed insurance providers. You can give Americas Health Brokers a call. You can search their main site and number. So far, they have dental insurance coverage that I would safely say offers the best. They got me covered.

Tax question. what exactly is this line asking? Enter the amount of any medical & dental insurance premiums?

Enter the amount of any medical and dental care insurance premiums you paid during 2007? What does it mean by insurance premiums? The question after asks amt of total medical fees so I got confused
--------------------
On Schedule A, you can include medical/dental insurance premiums that you paid through work -- the question is, who paid those premiums? And were those payments made with pre-tax dollars? What the IRS says is "Do not include in your medical and dental expenses any insurance premiums paid by an employer-sponsored health insurance plan unless the premiums are included in box 1 of your Form W-2. Also, do not include any other medical and dental expenses paid by the plan unless the amount paid is included in box 1 of your Form W-2." The key point is, they don't want you "double-dipping" -- that is, getting a tax break on your health insurance premium payments at work and also getting another tax break on the same premium payments on your tax form If you already got a tax-break at work, the company would not include the amount in Box 1 of your W-2 and so, you wouldn't be able to include that expense. Did your employer-sponsored health care plan pay your insurance premiums? Or did you pay the premiums and your company simply withheld the premiums from your pay to forward to the insurance company? These types of insurance premiums also include medical premiums withheld from pension income, social security income (for medicare), and health insurance payments written directly to an insurance company (like the other person said). And, here's an example from IRS Publication 17 that describes it far better than I did above. Example: "You are a federal employee participating in the premium conversion plan of the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program. Your share of the FEHB premium is paid by making a pre-tax reduction in your salary. Because you are an employee whose insurance premiums are paid with money that is never included in your gross income, you cannot deduct the premiums paid with that money." Hope that helps to clarify.

Employeer forces me to buy life/disability/dental insurance?

I work for a private non-profit in WI. Employee manual says benefits available but we are required to pay in full for life/short-term disability/dental. Is this legal?
--------------------
Employee benefits like the ones you mentioned are not mandated by the government, workers compensation insurance is the one that is mandatory. Read more about insurance here: www.surelyinsured.com

Dental Insurance for an 18 year old Canadian?

Are there any dental insurance plans that an independant 18 year is eligible for in the province of Ontario? I'm looking for a more localized one in the South Western Ontario region. I am still a high school student. I am hoping to find an independant insurance place that isn't associated with having a job, or being a part of a certain group.
--------------------
Dental plan coverage for individuals is not commonly offered because dental needs are highly predictable. For example, you would not pay premiums for your dental coverage if the premiums were more expensive than the cost of the dental treatment you need. Since this is the case, insurance companies would stand to lose money (spend more on benefits than they receive in premiums) on every individualdental plan they write. There are, however, a few companies that offer a form of dental benefits for individuals. Most of these plans are "referral plans" or "buyers' clubs." Under these types of plans, an individual pays a monthly fee to a third party in return for access to a list of dentists who have agreed to a reduced fee schedule. Payment for treatment is made from the patient directly to the dentist. The third party acts only in the capacity of matching the individual to the dentist. The dentist receives no payment from the third party other than in the form of referral of patients. whats the best dental insurance for me?

I need coverage that covers more than just cavities. Don't know what insurance companies are legit...having trouble! Thanks!
--------------------
For my family we have this great plan that has saved us thousands on dollars on all dental services. www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com is the website. I signed up online over 5 years ago now and ever since, it has been a blessing to us. From cleanings, exams, fillings, ...etc. Even my braces. They even had my extremely affordable plan active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and hope this helps.

Anyone in Canada know how to go about getting your wisdom teeth removed when you don't have dental insurance?

If I go to the hospital, will MSP cover it?
--------------------
I very much doubt it. They'd probably send you the bill for it if you did. You can either get insurance and wait until it becomes activated or work out a payment plan with a dentist.

How do I get dental insurance?

So I'm 19 right? My mother doesn't have it, my job doesn't support it, my college can't do anything about it, and my dad is in some vetrans hospital for crazies. My wisdom teeth hurt like %#$^#%$#!!!! I have naturally straight teeth, and are there ways to get wisdom teeth removed with payment plans or anything? I live in Texas near Dallas so anyone from around there with suggestions would greatly be appreciated :)

will my medical insurance cover part of the costs for dental extractions?

I have dental and medical insurance, if i go to an oral surgeon will my medical pick up part of the costs?
--------------------
Only way you can tell is if you call or request a benefits booklet. Or check their website. Usually they do but you may have a co-pay or you may not. But best to ask them so at least you know what you have to pay out of pocket. good luck!

You might want to consider a dental discount plan. The premiums ($80-200/year) are low and the savings (up to 60%) at the dentists are great. Go to http://www.lowpriceddentalplans.com to see which plans are available for your zip code.

How much to braces normally cost? without dental insurance?

I was just wondering thinking about asking my dentist about braces and I need them not to bad but for myself, mostly straight teeth just a few little crooked teeth and gaps I wanna fix how much would it be to get braces tops?
--------------------
They could range anywhere from $4000-$8000 depending on the extent of your teeth. I was originally quoted $4500 for mine, but only paid $2200 because of this wonderful plan I have. I would encourage you to visit this great site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago and they have saved me thousands of dollars since on all dental services. From extractions, cleanings, xrays..etc. And of course my braces. They even had my extremely affordable plan active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. I don't have dental insurance what can I do?

I just turned 23 so Im off my mothers dental insurace. What other options do I have? I am currently working part time and insurance is only offered to full time employees.
--------------------
Take really good care of your teeth until you have insurance again. You can go with far fewer cleanings if you are diligent with your oral hygeine and using effective toothpaste. You also need to maintain a healthy diet. If you have a good relationship with your family dentist, I am sure they will work with you if you get into an emergency situation. Also, you can get good, affordable care at a dental school, or get cleanings through a hygeine program if you have any near you.

is it worth getting dental insurance for expensive procedures?

I need a lot of work done, root canals and a bridge.. There is a place by my house that works with people with no insurance... Would insurance even cover thousands of dollars? or should i get a loan? any help would be great thanks =)
--------------------
Hello I would go with the dentist that would work with you. Why, because if you were to get Dental Insurance it would take at least 6 payments to even get approved for just one consultation, so buy the time you even qualify for your high dental plan, you could all ready have your teeth fixed and making monthly payments with the Dentist that would work with you to fix all your problems, just sit back and weigh you're options. like #1 how bad do I need this? Can I afford to wait? You know the Holiday's are right around the corner. I would just look my situation and go from there. Like Aways I wish you the best and GOOD LUCK FRIEND! In what ever option!!! Best Regards Ericka Coleman

can your employer offer medical/dental insurance even if you are not a US citizen?

i have never heard of an employer giving a non citizen employee isurance benefits is this possible ?
--------------------
Yes, as long as you are eligible to work in this country (that is, you have a green card or a work visa). If you are not eligible to work, then your employer can't offer you any employment benefits, including employment itself.

My daughter has no dental insurance were she works and she needs at least two root canals.?

We live in Portland Oregon and I was wondering if anyone else doesnt have insurance what do they do about dental work? We do have a denatl school but Im not sure if they do a good job because she has been there before when she was little and they botched the job?
--------------------
Sorry about your daughter's situation. Hard to advise you from 'across the pond' as we live in the U.K. Re: DENTAL HEALTH ... We are very lucky to be National Health Service patients, registered with the same dentist since 1978, so that he has kept us on his list (we have become friends in all that time!). Many people in the U.K. cannot find a dentist that will give them 'free' or 'NHS subsidised' treatment. Private fees are astronomical to ordinary folk so we tend to revert to visiting Dental (Teaching) Hospitals where the treatment may not be up to Private standards, but is generally adequate, if you don't mind receiving injections and treatment from relatively inexperienced students! I watched "First Do No Harm" the other night (Meryl Streep / Fred Ward / Seth Adkins) and was, as ever, horrified at what American citizens have to cope with when they are too well off to get 'relief' but not well off enough to be fully insured, or able to meet all their costs with, or without, insurance! Our N.H.S. is very far from perfect, but it is still, mostly, FREE and based almost entirely on patients' NEEDS, not (at all!) on their MEANS! Best wishes, OLLY x [My family's experiences of the NHS have ranged from O.K. to incredibly good over the past 30 years - we wonder why so many U.K. people can only kick holes in the NHS!]

What is a good dental plan/insurance if you don't get it through work?

It needs to cover major work. Is insurance better than a discount plan?
--------------------
Insurance is much better than a discount plan. I have a discount plan through dentalplans.com I think I pay $79 a year and on major work it would probably give you about a 15% discount which is nothing for major work but it is better than paying full price. Make sure you look at the details. Some of the discount plans have a waiting period. You have to pay the premiums for a year before you can have a crown or any other major work. I think Aflac (funny commercials with the duck) is like that.

Desperately need vision and dental insurance?

How do I obtain this? My company does not offer it and I need to go in.
--------------------
For what you will pay in premium and the benefit you get, it may not be worth it. With dental, all major services are excluded for 12 months. You would only be covered for preventative, basic and fillings. Depending on the carrier some cover root canal as basic but not many. You have to do the math.
