does anyone know of a good dental insurance?

Delta Dental and Assurant are both good. I think Blue Cross also offers a dental plan.

dental insurance?

i am 19 years old...going to be 20 in may, i guess i am not eliglible any more for dental insurance from my father because i am over 18. (my father have SIDS--self insured dental services)i am a student within the CUNY system and was wondering what dental insurance can i obtain?
--------------------
Are you sure you're not eligible under your father's plan? Generally speaking, you are covered under the age of 18 or up to 24 if you are full time student. See if this applies to to terms of his plan. If not, you may be better off paying the full shot to the dentist. Independent dental plans are expensive and frequently cost more than just paying directly for the services.

dental insurance?

I need extensive work done to my teeth, and I will not be able to afford it without insurance. Can one take out a dental insurance stating that the work needs to be done or will they charge you a lot for insurance if you tell them that? (or refuse to give you one altogether?) what's your experiences with that?
--------------------
Many large insurance company's have policies available that isn't part of the group insurance system. You will have to pay a monthly fee. For some it can be as low as 10-20$ a month. There may be a waiting period of 3-6mths. There is a deductible and most good plans cover 80-100% aafter deductible on basic care ( cleaning, fillings) up to 1500%. And 50% on the major stuff ( scaling, root canals, crowns.) You can always keep the plan for a year or untill all the work is done. Ask the dentist to give a list of what the work is so that you can choose that right plan for you. You should check to see of medical expenise are tax deductable. Here they are after 1500$. If you what to ask for your x-rays and get a second opinion on the work. Use key words: private Dental Insurance Plan UK And when this is all finished, try to put 10$ a month away for a regular checkup and cleaning. Good Luck:) BTW Just because you have insurance doesn't mean you're off the hook. Some dentists make you pay up front and have you deal with the insurance company. Read your policy and keep all numbers handy.

Dental insurance....?

Is there any dental insurance worth purchasing if you don't have it through your employer? My mom is always needing cavity fills and root canals. She takes good care of her teeth, she just isn't blessed with good ones- no lectures on dental care, brushing regularly, etc, please. She does not get dental insurance through her employer and is always having to use credit cards or pay out of pocket to get dental work done. Are there any private or individual policies worth purchasing?
--------------------
I know alot of them wont pay for anything big till you have them for a year. They'll only pay for cleanings and fillings the first year. There is a discount plan, I have it, called Ameriplan. You'll get a reduced rate on stuff right away. I dont think you get as good a deal as you do with insurance, but you can use it right away. Give them a call.

dental insurance?

im an uninsured college student. but i need insurance, and have no other option but to get it myself. what i need is dental and medical. what are some good options?
--------------------
If you have already run some on-line quotes you already know that there are many insurance companies to choose from and then each company offers 3-7 different plans. This can be pretty confusing. I suggest using yellowpages.com to search for health insurance brokers in your area. Don't call your auto and home agent they specialize in property and causality insurance. You need someone that specializes in health insurance. A Broker represents multiple carriers and can help you sort through all the different insurance companies and plan options in your state. A good broker will ask you a few questions then make a recommendation on the company and plan that may fit your needs. For a typical college student who is healthy and has a limited budget I usually suggest a plan with a higher deductible and a lower premium.

Is there a way to get a dental procedure covered by medical insurance rather than dental?

I have alot of dental problems, i need 15 crowns on the top alone just basic bad tooth enamel. Its not from brushing or flossing since i do that daily. I have dental insurance but not as good as my medical. So is there a way to get it submitted through medical.
--------------------
That is horrible that your dentist expects you to pay at time of service. I am suggesting you talk to another dentist, call around and see who might be willing to set up a payment plan. There is no way you can afford to do all that, and as far as I know, regular insurance will not cover dental work. Have you tried to apply for carecredit...Go to carecredit.com and check that out. BesT WisheS to you! I know it can be frustrating to need all this dental work, and feel like there is just NO WAY to get it done. I hope you are able to work it out. Another suggestion that just came to mind, and not one I am comfortable with, but many people are is to find a dental teaching school. They offer discounted dental work, because supervised students work on you. You do have to pay up front there though, you cannot work out payment plans. BesT WisheS!

How much does it cost to get your wisdom teeth removed without dental insurance?

I live in Roswell, Georgia but will be moving to San Francisco by the end of the year, I should get them removed here in Georgia right? I do not have dental insurance. thanks!
--------------------
Medical procedures and treatment are often less expensive in rural areas, so you if I was you, I'd get them extracted in Georgia. I just had four impacted wisdom teeth removed, and it came to $2180, including iv sedation. Prior to the surgery, I had an exam and a panoramic x-ray (you may have already had this), which cost about $170. Medications to take after the surgery (painkillers and an oral rinse), cost me $30 with health insurance. Everyone is different- but from talking to other people who have had their teeth removed, it sound like what I paid is pretty average. Hope this helps!

Where can I find private dental insurance?

I need to find a good, legitimate, private dental insurance company for my family and I. My employer doesn't provide dental insurance. So this would be us paying a company on a monthly or yearly basis. I would like to get a good company that accepts private plans. A website would be fantastic. Thanks for your help.

What are the top 3 dental insurance companies that includes orthodontic coverage for Georgia Residents?

I am considering getting invisalign instead of metal braces; but I wanted to know what companies should I consider for adult coverage. There is no orthodontist in the city of albany who did them for adults in 2005; so I have waited too long and now I must have them. I haven't found anyone that I know lives here have orthodontic coverage with their dental insurance or discount programs; but I am sure that there is a company that has this coverage for Georgia Residents.

What affordable dental insurance covers ortho? Can you suggest any?

I am looking for affordable dental insurance that covers ortho. I'm 29 yrs old and interested in getting one. I do have dental insurance - HMO, (BLue Cross) does this cover ortho?
--------------------
Dental insurance has to be based on what your monthly premium is VS what your annual maximum is. Every dental insurance has a maximum they will pay. If your annual premium is 300.00 and your annual maximum is 1000.00 your really only getting 700.00. I've been in the field for 27 years and most insurance does not cover ortho or it is very limited. Stay away from the discount plans and HMO's in dentistry because you get what you pay for. Ortho is not only about making the teeth strait but the bite must be addressed when moving teeth. If not done correctly you can have grinding/clenching problems that eventually lead to joint problems. Some of the states that have Delta Dental have individual policies you can purchase with the above limits. Hope this helps.

what is a really good health insurance and dental insurance?

I have been shopping for insurance for a few weeks now and would like some second opinions. What health and dental insuranc edo you have and do you like it?
--------------------
It all depends on your age and if a portion of your premium is being covered by your employer. If you have to pay it all, then Kaiser is the cheapest, but is only available in some states. Then the rest are pretty much the same, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna, Western Health, Pacific Care, etc... The other difference is if you want a PPO or an HMO. A PPO tends to be more expensive and you would pay a percentage of each visit this is called co-insurance (usually 20%) along with an annual deductible. However, with the PPO you don't have to go to your "home" doctor to get a referral for a specialist like on OBGYN. The HMO is generally cheaper, no deductible and you make co-payments, not co-insurance. I have and EPO through Aetna witch is an HMO and I like it alot. Hope this helps!

Where can i find information on what kinds of things healthease dental insurance covers?

I have healthease insurance through medicaid in FL and it covers some dental. I need to know if there is a place online to look at what kinds of things it covers. Please dont just tell me to call them. If i could call them and reach a human on the other line I would have done it already. Thank you so much!
--------------------
I would type Florida medicaid into my search engine and see if the website list what types of dental coverage is available. Or if you live near one of the medicaid offices, go and see if there is a pamphlet available outlining what it will cover. The medicaid program in Alabama has such a pamphlet, maybe Florida will too.

Indians : Does anyone have or know about a good dental insurance company that covers major procedures?

Am trying to get good dental insurance coverage that will cover major procedures.. If u can find something can u give me the website?? Please tell me what is the procedures if i get right now insurance after paying amount , will the company pay me for dental treatments or insurance must get mature for 1 year , so till that i must pay from my pocket for treatment ?????
--------------------
Every insurance is slightly different in waiting period, amount of coverage and cost. You should call an independent insurance agent and tell him what you want. Dental plans are very cheap but they dont do much. Some serious procedures have long wait periods but it varies with each company. You can usually have cleaning quickly. You have to decide whether to pay monthly for a year or if you need work done now, pay for it. You can get cheaper work done through a dental school or look for a low cost clinic that also offers dental services.

Medical Discount Plan ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services. Individual & Family Health Plans This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose. Short Term Medical Plans This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months. YOu are not the only person who have ever met this kind of problem,I met this type of problem before.I have good experience here    www.HealthInsuranceFree.info    to solve the problem.
