with dental insurance how much does a deep cleaning cost?

if you had dental insurance and had a deep cleaning, how much did you pay for it?
--------------------
They usually go by quadrant, so with out dental insurance, 4x $200 = $800. With dentalservice4less, for example you are looking at about half off, so about $400.

Where to get dental insurance online?

I need to buy dental insurance. My work doesn't offer it. What are some good dental insurance providers that I can sign up with online?
--------------------
You have five options with dental. 1. Go without insurance. If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don't need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam and even an occasional filling will cost you less without insurance. 2. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you. 3. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you're paying 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $919. With insurance you pay $460 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans. 4. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $919. With discount plans you pay around $827. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes… concerning these plans. 5. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $919. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

how long do you have to work for Starbucks, before you can get dental insurance?

how long do you have to work for Starbucks, before you can get dental insurance? i wanted to get braces, i also wanted to work part-time till i can get the braces please tell me how long and if they give dental insurance(include braces)to part-time employees(sat-sun)thanks.
--------------------
According to my package, you have to work at least 20 or 30 hours a week for 3 months. It is then, when SBUX will mail you a package of forms for the coverage. But please check with your manager, braces may not entirely be covered, and you may have to cover some portion of the cost. That's in Canada, but I don't think it changes much anywhere else. :)

Do insurance companies only cover for the dental offices they assign you to?

Our dental insurance company is Benefits Insurance Unlimited or smething like that. It "assigned" us to SmileCare. They have an ortho there, but my mom wants me to get my braces done elsewhere my aunt reccommended. Will the dental insurance benefits only apply at the SmileCare they assigned us, or will it also apply at the other place we want to go to to get my braces done? Thanks.
--------------------
Oh, no, the benefits they state will ONLY apply to the SmileCare, or other in network provider. There MIGHT be out of network benefits elsewhere, or there might be NO out of network benefits. But you can, at the very least, count on paying a lot more somewhere else.

I would encourage you to visit this website. www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up with them online over 3 years ago for all my dentistry work without age limits for almost the same reason as you. They have helped me save thousands of dollars from extractions, root canals, cleanings. I know for a fact that all services are included especially orthodontics and dentures in the benefits. They had my membership active in 2 hours and was able to use the same day. I am very thankful that I found them. Im almost %99.9 certain that your area is covered. Check to see if they are in your area. Good Luck. Hope this helps

Can someone please explain me the difference between discounted dental plan and dental insurance?

Can someone please explain me the difference between discounted dental plan and dental insurance? Which one is better? I am so confused. Thank you all. Ann.
--------------------
discount dental plan says "the desist will charge you less for this procedure, but you still have to pay him" dental insurance says "we will pay the dentist this much for his services, the rest is yours to pay" Insurance is better if you can get it, but some dentists will allow you to use both. They charge you less with the discount plan, so the insurance has less to pay and allows you to have more work done before you hit the maximum the insurance will pay per year. Talk to the dentist or office workers about it. they should be able to provide you with the best information.

Does dental insurance usually cover part of the cost of a mouth guard you get at a dentist or periodontist?

I am going to be getting a mouth guard and need to know if dental insurance will cover it. It is for receding gums due to clenching.
--------------------
You have to check your policy because every company and policy is different. If you don't know, your dentist should get preapproval and should be able to tell you what you'll be responsible for.

what individual dental insurance is best?

I just recently graduated college and I no longer have dental insurance through my parents insurance. Im in need of some dental insurance. My employer doesn't offer any insurance at all. Ive done some research and all I come up with is the Individual plans. I dont know what insurance would help me cover invisalign and teeth being pulled? Ive called about 10 places but they only give some type of discounts which only average %15. any help or useful information would be appreciated.
--------------------
Not many individual plans cover ortho, and if they did it would only be at 50% I do the administration at a dental clinic and all the individual plans are crap. People end up paying more for their premiums than the insurance pays towards their dental treatment. The plans have annual maximums of how much they will pay out, and it is usually about the same amount you put in paying them. You would be better off getting a loan from the bank to pay for your treatment. When it comes to orthodontic work you are usually discounted if you are able to pay in full - so you could end up saving money there. If you really want dental insurance, These companies are not bad -Blue Cross -Great West Life -Sunlife

If my girlfriend cancels my dental insurance after we break up will i be charged in full for all my bills?

My girlfriend and I are in a bad situation and I think its time to leave, the only problem is that she is covering me under her dental insurance? What would happen if she removes me from her policy after we break up? (HumanaDental if that helps me)

You will have to either get your own policy or not have insurance. It isn't usually possible to cover people who aren't your family under insurance so you were lucky to have it at all.

Does anyone know of any dental insurance programs that cover braces?

I am looking for any dental insurance program which covers the highest percentage of the cost of braces. Does anyone have any suggestions, companies, or providers they know of?
--------------------
First, you should understand the concept of "dental insurance". Companies sell policies and collect premiums from a number of individuals in a group. The company is profitable only if more people pay in than use up in benefits. If you, as an individual, buy an insurance plan for ortho coverage, it's for sure you will use it and it would make no financial sense for the company to pay out benefits. Bottom line: you just can't pay less for benefits than a company would pay out. Good news is, most orthodontists take payments. You'll need a substantial amount as a down payment, but the balance can be paid out over the course of treatment. Look for ads in your local paper or phone book. Payment in full could net you a substantial discount if you have a cheap source of credit. Many orthodontic offices use credit agencies such as Care Credit or Denal Fee Plan to help their payments get the treatment they need.

Is there Dental Insurance available that covers at least 50%?

I have searched and I can't find a good dental insurance because most of them are cheap ones, 100 a month and only cover 20%. I need one that can cover more than that, and I don't care how much I will be paying. If anyone knows of any good companies with high coverage let me know please.
