i cant find a dentist anywhere around me that accepts my insurance?

i live in massachusetts and i live on the border of rhode island and mass.. I have MassHealth Commonwealth Care/ BMC Health net plan and Doral Dental.. the trouble is finding a dentist.. i do not drive because of personal issues so its hard to get around.. and there is not ONE city around me accepting it. i am in pain everyday.. and if the pain is bad enough i go to the emergency room for quick treatment where they give me a list of dentists.. but the trouble is i called all of them and they dont accept my insurance even though the hospital said they do. i am getting really frustrated and upset over the pain i have to deal with.. it was infected at one point but i took medication and the infection went away. so0 now i am in wonder how or when i will get these dreadful things out and be done with it... if anyone knows of a place or somewhere i can call to find someone that would be great, i am going to try 1800dentists right now to see if that will help.. prob not though.. thanks!

Another option could be to call around and see if any Dentist in your area may offer a discount if you were to pay cash, even without the insurance. Sometimes it can be cheaper then if you were to use the insurance. And most people don't to ask for the cash discount and the dentist office isn't going to simply offer it to anyone, that is unless they know enough to ask about it themselves. You can also check to see if there are any Ameriplan providers near you, and if so see how much it will be to get your pain taken care of with the Ameriplan discount. You can look at the plans on the site http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/cberney The Dental plan is only $19.95/mo. for an entire household up to 20 people, or $14.95/mo. for individual. I know that I personally have used the plan for over 2 years and have seen huge savings. I saved over $600 on just 1 root canal last year. Hopefully this will be able to offer you some help. Good Luck! And let me know if you have any trouble doing a search for providers on the site, it can sometimes get a bit tricky.

If a 50 year old american wants a good comprehensive health insurance policy, how much will it cost?

If he wants a plan for himself and his family. Father age 50 in good health Mother age 50 in good health Son age 20 in good health The coverage they want must pretty much cover anything they want medically from doc visits to exams, to hospital stays, surgery fees, any dental work and cleaning, etc..etc.. at 80%. In other words the plan must pay 80% of anything its used for and the copay is 20% up until the family spends a maximum out of pocket per year of $1,000. Once the copay reaches $1,000 coverage is 100%. The lifetime max payment per insured is $1,000,000. So...does anyone know or have a guess as to how much this man will have to pay to buy this type of insurance? someone told me the premium per year could be like $18,000 or more. They are kidding....right?

Does anyone else have an illness not covered by health insurance and how do you pay for it?

I have TMJ and my health nor dental gives me not one dollar toward it. Every year I pay thousands out of pocket for treatment for a joint that's just like any other joint! If my shoulder hurts, I get covered treatment. But not for my jaw. I'm sick of paying out of pocket and I want to know if anyone else knows some other organization that will give me something, anything at all for my medical bills. I've sent claims and appealed claims to my insurance company and they just don't care.
--------------------
I don't have health insurance so I simply don't seek medical treatment for my incredibly painful shoulder instability.

A question for employers and those who know about job pay - why is it that some jobs are paid so minimally?

For example, the other day I came across a job for a dental receptionist. This poor woman had 25 tasks to do everyday, work 6 days a week and always have a smile on her face - to only make $10 an hour! These tasks all dealt with other people, insurance and billing companies - it wasn't like she'd be painting her nails all day long. It really burns me that a dentist will make in access $300 or more an hour but can't afford to pay the receptionist at least $18 an hour. Is it really that difficult to throw the office staff some decent pay? This is why I hate everything corporate - some old man at the top, who can't even work a fax machine or copier is getting millions and meanwhile the hard working people on the bottom get paid literally nothing. If you don't get married these days, you can't even afford your own place - not on $10 an hour. I want to know what employers figure in making salaries for their employees?
--------------------
absolutely agree with you. it seems that the more money that is associated with the job/industry, the more pay. so the fact that people are paying loads of money for dental work, means the dentist rakes it in, but this doesn't get passed on. anything that involves looking after people also seems to mean low pay... take a look at childcare workers. here in australia, they are one of the lowest paid occupations. salary has nothing to do with how important the job really is in terms of improving / saving lives.

can i get free dental work in new jersey?

have no insurance..
--------------------
Alrighty...none of these answers were helpful in the least, and I'm sorry. Try AmeriPlan. I have them and you can save up to 80 per cent on dental care, even specialists. I wish I would have signed up this month, because the full medical program (with vision, hearing, chiro) is $3 per month for 3 months.

I'm payin IN TOTAL $205 for my health insurance a month, whats so bad about this?

I am self employed and 45 and this is my TOTAL BILL. This is major medical only but does cover up to 4 physicals a year if I wanted them.....The deductable is 6K but big deal. 6 K isn't going to hurt me if I had a surgery that cost 200k! This is through American Republic Insurance...they are great INS too...My parents had them and they covered my DADs $1 million dollars worth of surgerys over a 10 year period...Covered it all....So, who can't afford $200 bucks a month? Sure you can add on other features like long term care or co-op or dental but that is not needed most the time anyway.....WELL?

Will betadine stain my teeth?

I was told by a dentist at a dental school to rinse with it for one minute once per month, due to having cavities that I can't afford to take care of. (no dental insurance)
--------------------
No it will not stain your teeth. Though you should not do this if you have thyroid problems.

HELP! Now my daughter is terrified of going to the dentist! :-(?

Hello: My daughter who is almost eight years old,is terrified of going to the dentist now, because she has had to have four baby teeth extracted on two different dental visits to make room for her permanent teeth to come in. My husband and I are always telling her how brave she is and how the dentist is our friend because they help to keep our teeth healthy and pain free, but she is still scared to death to go. We have a WONDERFUL woman dentist who is very patient and kind and so is her assistants and office staff as well. We don't have dental insurance and both times that the dentist pulled our daughter's teeth, she didn't use gas or any pain killers before the procedure. I don't know if it was the fact that the dentist knew that using gas or pain killers was very expensive and she wanted to save us the extra cost? We don't want our daughter to be scared of the dentist, but there are some procedures that have to be done. Please share any tips or suggestions that you may have.
--------------------
Guys...for the idiots who answered before...nowhere in this persons question does she mention not using a local anesthetic. Pain killers is not the same as an anesthethic and most likely an anesthetic was used...oh and it probably it wasn't novacaine since novacaine isn't used anymore...hasn't been used for years. As for your daughter, unfortunatley she probably does need sedated...talk to this dentist about your issues. If they do not offer sedation (most general dentists do not offer it) then you may want to consider someone who does. Most often they will give her something to drink and she will fall asleep and they will take her back. Nitrous is minimally effective, it helps those who are not nervous not care as much about the pain involved in the procedure. It doesn't anethitize a tooth or get rid of pain...just helps you care less about it. The toughest thing for you will be forcing her to go. She won't want to go...Nobody WANTS to go have teeth worked on. Continue the accolades when she does well at the office and things will get better. Good Luck!!

Is there any help for a single, low-income woman with depression and no children living in the home?

I need help! I have clinical depression, no insurance, no job, and no bank account. Does any place exist that can offer very affordable insurance for someone like me (general, mental, perscription, dental, and e.r.)? I also need help with finding an affordable yet competent counselor or theropist. I was going to my local mental health clinic, but the only real help I was getting was the medication, the counseling sucked rocks (was more confused with couseling than trying to figure things out on my own). I haven't got a clue where to go or what to do. I'm not married, I can't find a job, my sons don't live with me, I live with my grandfather because I can't afford to take care of myself let alone live alone, a lying jerk over-drafted my bank account and got me in so much debt that I had to cancel it, I have not one friend, and there is no one I can turn to for help in my family. If anyone can stear me in some kind of direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
--------------------
You really need to contact your local health department. They may very well be able to help you with health concerns and they can also direct you to somewhere that can help with depression. Someone you can make appointments with to go and talk to them on a regulas basis. Both places work with low income/no income. Good luck. and really try contacting them. It helped me.

New job at Starbucks... I was wondering what the insurance is going to cost??

After 3 months I can get insurance... I have 3 children ages 3, 8, and 9. I want to cover them and myself for med. dental and vision. Can someone who works there, or used to work there give me a "guesstimate" on what this will cost per month?
--------------------
It depends, are you working full time or part time. Starbucks has really good benefits, even better since you only have to work part time to qualify. The cost per month wouldn't be valid unless you asked someone that works in your area, costs vary state by state. You can call the Benefits line and just ask for a quote. Then you might want to get insurance quotes from other companies to compare it to. If your only income is Starbucks or you fall within guidelines - why don't you sign up for government benefits? You are one person that would definitely deserve the help, and that is what they are there for - hard times. Through Starbucks you pay 25% of the premium, Starbucks pays 75%. But, I have to mention, hopefully you are working in a productive store with lots of business. Starbucks announced Howard D. Schultz has taken on another role as Chief Executive and is still going to keep his place as Chairman. The Starbucks stock has plummeted from bad business moves and competition. But, he is going to close underperforming Starbucks locations and halt the rapid growth of Starbucks within the US. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0… http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/08/busine…

I am having a huge issue with our Military insurance TRICARE Prime. I am getting nothing but the run around?

on a claim for reimbursement from a emergency "medically necessary" surgery that I had in april. My claim was mailed to tricare in July. I've spoke to several reps that tell me differently 'I can't find it" or "I found everything - but we need this" I've faxed over and over and had several reps say they would call me back. Today I went to my local office, who could only place a call in to Tricare to explain, and the rep she spoke with couldn't find anything. So she re-faxed. I called 2 hours after leaving the local office and asked for a supervisor, she saw my original claim that the other couldn't find, and the re-faxed claim that the local office sent in. Now what do u think i was told?- " we can not enter your claim until you write a letter stating that the 2 dr's that performed my surgery were partnered" Not like she couldn't note the account. Then she said the golden words, "soon as you send that in, we can enter your claim, and send you a denial letter" WONDERFUL - let me do all this extra stuff so you can deny it. And the reason they want to deny it is because the dr. did not have time to gain a pre-authorization (emergency) which at the min can take 72 hours to request. But last year my regular dr tried to get a referral from tricare to have the surgery..but they denied the referral stating they do not cover dental... i tried to appeal that several times, but got the same answer. But I attempted..and now that it was life or death, they want to deny refunding me my out of pocket cost of $21,000 because no pre-authorization. Like I said, I've heard several reasons from rep, and different request for more information...I'VE HAD IT with them. My question is... what can I do? Does anyone know who I could report this to on the GOV side, as far as, who do I complain to with authority on the Military side? After all, the GOV pays Tricare to provide medical insurance to the Military and benificaries. Any help, and guidance would be very helpful.

What do I do?....my teeth hurt?

What do you do when you can't afford dental work?....and your teeth really hurt. I was told I'll need a root canal by the dentist last time - but then my dental insurance ran out.
--------------------
Depending on you age, you can go to your local health department or check your colleges in your area to be volunteer as a patient. Don't worry about going to a college, because they are taught and watched over by their teacher's whom are certified or a Dr. The students have to learn somewhere. Give it a try.

Is it legal for an employer require its employees to either sign up for the group insurance, or provide...?

proof of coverage elsewhere? We are in Michigan, and the co-workers are all up in arms about this. Our employer is saying that since they provide health and welfare in addition to our wages, and this is pre-tax, then they can require us to have medical insurance. Their medical insurance is very expensive ($ 400 a month for a single, and that's the cheap plan). They also offer a-la-cart benefits, (vison, dental, 401K, etc), and if you don't use the H & W for their benefits, it is taxed at the normal rate and added to your paycheck. Basically, we are upset because we should just be able to decline (wise, or unwise) without having to prove we have insurance with someone else. Some people just don't have enough for insurance with the company or elsewhere. Those people are being told that they will be signed up without their consent and will have the premiums taken out of their benefit allotment. How can this be legal?

http://www.michigan.gov/dleg Go to the site, above. Let the commissioner know of this. If it is illegal, he can put a stop to it and fine certain violators. Go get 'em, Jenny!

What can I do if my dentist is not returning the insurance money that I laid out?

I am having extensive dental work done. The total amount was $53,000.00. The dentist said that I would have to pay upfront. Any anything that the insurance covered they would send to me. They said it would only take three visits. It has now been almost 2 years...I am not even 1/2 way done and he has received an additional 11,000.00 from FSA and insurance. He is not returning this money...he is missing appts. with me. Who do I contact...BBB, an attorney the ADA...help!!!
--------------------
First contact the dentist and see if you can get this all straightened out between you. Start keeping records of everything that has happened since you first saw him up to the present time. Include his treatment plan, estimates, insurance correspondence and payments made by them and you, all telephone calls and written correspondence, and the efforts you have made to complete and pay for this work. If you get no satisfaction, the next step would be to contact your states dental association and find out the process of how to file a grievance complaint against this dentist. Then if all else fails you need to see an attorney for advice. Remember, the more documentation you can amass, the better your chances to prevail are and get this resolved to your satisfaction. You may also wish to contact your insurance company and let them be aware of the situation and what is happening. Good luck to you.

How much do you pay for health insurance per month?

Just your portion/ per month / your age I am 30 and did not choose a health plan at work because I think $170 a month for basic HMO is too much for a single healthy person. I used to pay $60 with dental and vision at my last job (which I know is really cheap). When I interviewed here they told me they had a great health plan. Well, guess what they lied! I will definatly be asking more questions about health insurance when I talk salary for my next position.
--------------------
HMO is $300 a month for medical, dental and vision coverage, $25 copay for an office visit, and a $300 deductible for inpatient care. You can expect to pay $100 per month per person for full major medical coverage. I agree with you that $170 a month for just you is unreasonable. Cal a local BCBS agent and get a quote, if you are healthy and have no major health concerns, take no prescriptions, etc. you can do better with a private policy, but you should compare carefully, a cheaper policy could mean a larger deductible. Look at the deductibles and coinsurance on the group plan. If you are not healthy or have some major health concerns, you need to take the coverage on your job.

Getting a tooth pulled?

I have a tooth that is hurtin me, a bottom left molar. The company i work for ended our health and dental insurance last year so i dont have any of that. I would really like to get the tooth pulled, so what i was wondering is....can you get a crown where the tooth was pulled later??? Like can they do it like they do with root canals still? How much would just a single tooth being pulled cost? ballpark numbers are cool. thanks.
--------------------
If you have a job, you should be able to use a credit card or the Care Credit that many dental offices accept..... You should call around and then make a appointment, you will be surprised that good dental care is not expensive... You do not need insurance for everthing....you can just make payments.

Dentists/Orthodontists, about how much does it cost to get a dental implant tooth? How about a partial denture?

I have a missing tooth, it is the flat one that should be between one of your front teeth and your sharp canine tooth. It just never grew in. Well about how much do you think it would cost to get a dental implant, compared to other choices like the partial denture? Is a denture a bad idea, I heard it was less expensive. Plus if I need to get braces first to move the gap between my front teeth together to make a space for the new tooth? Is this going to be really, really expensive? (Apparently this is not covered by insurance because it is cosmetics, they only pay for missing teeth if you got it knocked out or something)
--------------------
The cost of an implant varies in different parts of the country. The implant and the porcelain crown that is placed over it will average $2500 - $3000. If you need orthodontics to make space for the tooth, you could be talking about the same amount additionally. Good luck

What's the average cost for health insurance for me?

I'm a 25 y/o female i'm a smoker i don't have any pre-exisiting conditions, other than depression. High Blood Pressure and Thyroid disease runs in my family, but i don't have any of those. I need a plan that has emergency coverage, doctor visits, medication coverage and preferably psychiatric care. I can live without the dental/vision...but having that would be great too. This is the first time i will be needing to get insurance on my own - I have no idea how this deductible stuff works. do you know - ballpark figure - how much i will be needing to pay per month? and do you know a good provider that i should look into?

Dentist did a bad job?

I have a friend who had a dentist in a rather low quality complex work on her teeth, and perform a root canal. She experienced a lot of pain from it, and when she went to another dentist the dentist said the previous dentist did a poor job and he was willing to write a note attesting to it. We want to simply have the charge (still unpaid) of $1100 returned. Now here's the problems: -She just moved so she cannot go back to that dentist, I have to act as a representative. -She currently has no dental insurance to see another dentist and get a note. -The case is over a year old, how can we find out the statute of limitations in the state of Hawaii on this? We don't want to sue and add to the malpractice epidemic, but if we have to we will. We just want the charge taken off of her total debt. What can we do?

How can I search for good health insurance?

I am looking for a way to find a good health care provider. I need to find a HCP that would have good dental coverage. I also have jaw pain/problems and an extremely stuffy nose (could be caused by allergies - unlikely - or some type of structural deformity - probably). I need to find a HCP that would allow for thorough tests to be done at little or no cost. Please let me know where I could search for a HCP and gather information on how to read insurance policies. I would also appreciate any personal experiences you have had or if you have a good HCP. Please let me know. Thank You. p.s. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have,
