Do I have a cavity and what to do about insurance?

When food gets between 2 particular molars, it hurts. It's kind of like a dull pain. Sometimes, my gums between those two teeth also swell. But the swelling on happens occasionally, and goes away. The pain also stops when the food comes out, but this doesn't happen when food gets between any other teeth. Do you think I have a cavity on one of these two teeth? I can't just go get it checked out unless I am almost certain it is something wrong because I have NO insurance. Are there any good dental plans that take effect immediately when it comes to fillings? I know the discount plans do, but I don't even know if I need a filling yet.

What is the best course to take, the one that is in demand?

I'm presently working as Dental assistant front and back..I would like to change my job preferrebly I want to be hired by big companies that can give me good benefits. I'm about to enroll but are still confuse on what to take I'm choosing between Medical asst., pharma tech and Medical insurance biller. I have gained a lot of experience in dental billing and are quite interested in doing medical billing as well. So pls. advise me on this need help!
--------------------
It is advisable to take, CPA law. If you have a high intellect you will surely ace it. If you take this course you could be a CEO of a company, which by the way includes a lot of perks. You also need to have a Masters and a PH. D to qualify.

My front tooth broke, can I get a dental implant today?!?

Even if I dont have insurance, money? I go back to work tomorrow and I don't want to go without a tooth.
--------------------
The only thing you could get done quickly is a make shift temporary depending on how much of the broken tooth is left. And yes you need money to purchase services.

My husband's work dropped me off his insurance, can i get insured?

So here is the story, I was on my husbands insurance through his job. I went to the doctor to schedule a surgery for my tonsils. When i get to the doctors office I find out that my husband's insurance dropped me off his policy because he didn't get "the right paperwork" such as marriage certificate in at a timely manner. Even though my husband DID give them my information when they needed it, he has no way to prove it because his old HR manager is no longer with the company. Long story Short... I am now without insurance until April of 2011 and there are no prospective jobs in my town that have benefits I qualify for. I go to school full time in college I am 28 years old, and desperately need to get this surgery done for my tonsils and get the rest of my dental work fixed. Are there any Insurance companies that offer insurance for unemployed workers who do not qualify for Unemployment, and or any companies that give insurance for full time college students? If anyone can help give me and idea for my situation I'd greatly appreciate it thank you in advance. PS I only need the insurance for a couple months until i can either get back on my husband's insurance, or apply for a job at his work when the company opens back up.
--------------------
There aren't any insurance companies that are going to give you insurance that covers this preexisting condition - the need for the tonsilectomy. See, that's how it works - people without insurance want to pay a couple hundred bucks for a month or two, file $20,000 or more of claims, and then cancel the policy. That's exactly WHY you can't buy insurance to cover preexisting conditions (at this time). Insurance companies would go bankrupt selling that kind of coverage. I think hubby really DOES need to talk to the new HR manager, and get them to get you re-added to the policy. Your only OTHER alternative, is to negotiate a cash price for the surgery.

Dental Assistance Oklahoma?

My mother has serious dental problems. She really needs to go to the dentist for a deep cleaning and she needs other work done, possibly having some teeth pulled and getting dentures or something. However my parents are really struggling right now and they dont have insurance. Is there like a program or something for dental assistance for like low income families? Or what are her options? Thanks for the help guys!

Check and see if there is a Dental school around your house, usually they have cheaper rates because you are basically practice for the students. I'm not sure if Dental schools do this but I have heard of other professions offering something of that nature.

How do I care for a tooth/gum infection?

My wisdom teeth have been gone for 6 years now. The tooth on the bottom left side in the far back was getting crowned 2 years ago- the dentist royally screwed up, so I never went back to him & now I no longer have insurance & my medicaid doesn't cover dental. Is there anyway I can get the little remaining part of this tooth removed? I know I'll need antibiotics first to get rid of the infection in my gums. Can anyone help or give me some helpful advice? Thank you
--------------------
You really need a dentist for this... My fiance had a similar situation, complete with no insurance. Try looking for a docter that takes Care Credit. It's a credit card for this kind of situation. http://www.carecredit.com/ If you can't qualify due to bad/no credit... I suggest either getting a loan or having a family member apply & then get permission to use it (that's what we did) Infection is a big deal in that area. It's dangerous & you do need antibiotics. However, I know a trick that MIGHT be able to help a little. Get some sea salt (not table salt) & mix about 1 teaspoon into 6-8 oz of really warm water. Let is soak into the infected area. Swish it around in your mouth. Sea salt is a natural antiseptic & can help bring the infection out. It tastes horrible...but it helps. Do this several times a day & each time after you eat. If you have a heat pack, hold it to your face for about 10 minutes or so when every you can throughout the day. Also, for the pain (it has to hurt)...invest in some clove oil. It is far superior to anything else on the market for tooth aches. Take an anti-inflammatory (like ibuprofen) for the swelling. I hope that helps. Edit: P.S. Try looking for an Urgent Care clinic. They typically run about $40.00 for a visit & can prescribe you antibiotics for this kind of situation. If you're luckier than me & can take penicillin; you should be able to get that from the Walmart pharmacy for about $4.00

dental work?

how does anyone out there afford dental work?i have no ins, and can not afford insurance
--------------------
I have AmeriPlan and it's a good program. You can save up to 80 per cent on any kind of dental work. It's a discount program, so it's better than insurance in a sense that you can use it as soon as you receive it. I wish I would have waited and joined this month, because they are doing a special where you can get it for like $3 a month for 3 months.

Impacted Wisdom teeth - No insurance?

I went to the local hospital because of pains in my mouth. I'm 21 and have impacted wisdom teeth. I was given an antibiotic and lortab for pain. I was then told to find a dentist and have the teeth removed. On my search for a dentist I have found nothing. I have no insurance and a lot of dental offices wont accept me. Some have told me to apply for something called Care Credit but when I applied for that I was denied. I honestly need these removed. I've missed two days of work because my mouth was so swollen I couldn't speak. What can I do?

Yes... isn't it just GREAT that the repuiblicans have been able to screw the American people out of National Health Insurance for 60 Years??? They all have insurance - but you can sing for your supper.

who has a discount dental plan? is it worth it?

do u also have insurance? where do u have it? ty for your answers
--------------------
i have looked at these plans. for the amount they cover they dont seem to save you much especially if you take into account the months you pay for and have nothing done. also in my area few dentists accept these programs. the only ones i have found are huge multi dentist practices (like aspen) that employ many new dentists or foreigners. most dentists will make a reasonable payment plans or have plans available from credit companies. even people who have dental coverage from their jobs find they are covered less every year, i wonder if the people who post the links to the insurance/discount card sites get a kick back of some sort. if you check their posts they consist of the same link given over and over and almost nothing else.

Is Dental Insurance worth it?

I have a fractured tooth and it has to be pulled and an implant put in. Just for the oral surgeon it's gonna cost $2500.00. Then I will have a bill from the dentist for the crown. Should I look into getting dental insurance? Will it save me some money?? Any ideas?

Two of my teeth are half rotted and I have no dental insurance, what can I do?!?

I'm 21 years old and came from a very poor family. Throughout the early years, my teeth had taken a serious beating. I'm in college and haven't really had the money or time to get them checked out. However, the thought recently has haunted me and I'm fearful of paying out of the wazzu for it. I don't know what to do, I know I need to take action before the problem gets even worse. What is the best plan of attack to nullify this issue.

I would encourage you to visit this great site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago now and they have saved me thousands on all services. From root canals, bonding, fillings, xrays...etc. All services are included in this very affordable plan. Just take care of one thing at a time, You don't have to have it done in one day. Just pay for the procedures you want done individually and it will spread out your money. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. good luck and hope this helps.

Considering new laws: where's the best place for I and my family to get health and dental insurance in CA?

Right now we go through an agent to get Blue Cross/ Blue Shield but it's expensive this Obama Care is supposed to make things more available and cheaper, so; wheres the beef!?
--------------------
That part was never answered, we have just been told it will allow you to buy from a group of options and that existing care for people with insurance will not increase. Doesnt really tell us logisically how this makes anything cheaper or better or more affordable, does it. Sorry I cannot be of help,

So does anybody who lives in Texas have an awesome health insurance plan with dental for a good price?

It's for a family of 5. I have right now bluecross/bluesheild and I love them but if my husband gets this new job the health benefits there stink and we need coverage. We will not be having anymore children (fact!) but we do need the dental. I pay close $500/$600 a month and want something cheaper but not worse in policy. I've already looked and found a few I liked just wondering if anybody has any better policy;s or ideas =^)
--------------------
Since no one here can know what your current plan covers there is no way to know if anything is cheaper with the same coverage. You should visit a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent can compare what you currently have to the individual plans on the market and can find the best plan for your situation and budget. There is no extra charge using an agent. Individual dental insurance, in general, is not very good. You have deductibles, annual maximums, and waiting periods before you receive full benefits. I'm an insurance agent and offer several policies but my personal plan is a discount fee for service plan. There are no deductibles, no annual maximums, and no waiting periods. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo… specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule on the website to find the best for what you need covered.
