No dental insurance..cost?

I dont have dental insurance and i currently have a cavity. I need to get a check up soon and would like to know the ballpark range on how much it would cost for a check up? I'd also like to know how much it would cost to get that tooth removed if i had that choice

Price does vary at each dental office. A ball park for a cleaning, exam, and x-rays is around $250. However, many offices run new patient specials for around $99.00 for all the services. If you have had any x-rays taken in the past year, they are still good and can be used at any dentist. If you had a full mouth of x-rays taken in the past 5 years - it is also good. A cavity's price will depend on the type of tooth and how many sufaces need to be filled. Silver fillings are cheaper than white ones. Silver fillings work just fine reguardless of what you may hear. A silver filling for a back tooth will run you between $70-$130. A white filling will be around $130-$250. Again, each office has their own set of fees. Many dentists will offer cash patients a discount if they pay for the procedure in full, usually is about a 10% discount. Also, CareCredit is a great option. Its a dental credit card that offers same as cash for up to 12 months. One thing I would suggest is calling local colleges that have dental programs. Many have "student dentists" and "student hygientists" that treat you for a very low fee. Many people who cannot afford treatment opt to see a student.
