Private dental insurance costs about $30 a month - and has waiting periods before you can use it for anything except a cleaning and exam. When you factor in waiting periods and deductibles and copays and the monthly premium, I haven't seen any private policies that pay out more than they cost. Thats because, most people don't buy it, unless they want to USE it for something big.
