is there any way to get a refund on dental insurance if you were fired before being able to use it?

the reason i got fired was pretty reasonable to me and i'm not looking for a lawsuit or anything. i could just use the money that was taken out of my check for it. i had the insurance taken out for about a year before i got fired.

No, you don't get a refund. It's like getting health insurance, if you leave the job, you no longer have it. The insurance is on the outside chance that you will need it for the months that you are insured. The insurance companies take a gamble on your dental work not exceeding what you pay in, sometimes they win and sometimes they lose, but mostly they win, but it's there if you need it, but only while you are covered. That's the way insurance works. It's not an investment.
