Which organzation can offer immediate asistance with diabetic (type 1) insulin pump supplies and insulins?

After 28 years of employment with one company I am unemployed with no medical or dental insurance for me and my daughter whose a type 1 diabetic. In the next couple of weeks I will need to provide additional supplies of insulin and materials for her meditronic insulin pump. These supplies are very costly without health insurance. Paying out of pocket will drastically impact our living capability at this time. I'd like to take advantage of an organization program(s) within the Houston TX area that could lead to temporary assistance while I seek another job. I appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you.

I don't know if this will help or not, as I am not on an insulin pump. I take insulin injections. But, check with the drug company that makes her insulin and supplies. Most drug companies offer free supplies to those who cannot afford it. I get my insulin from Lily and they supply it for free. I also get my glimiperide for free. You can find out by going to www.pparx.org If your medication doesn't come up on this site then go directly to the manufacturer's website. Good Luck!
