question about dental insurance?

So my wife has braces and we are 1/2 way through the whole ordeal and she'll get them off in 12 months. However, I am about to switch jobs and I just learned that my insurance pays quarterly for the work instead of paying for it all up front. Well if I leave my job, we have to pay the rest of the cost which will be upwards of $4,000. What, if any, options do I have to prevent this from happening (besides not leaving my job because that is unfortunately not an option)? Can we get a retainer for the work done so far and finish it later? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
