Question on health insurance terms (First Time Buyer)…?

Work offers insurance at $20 that for part-time with pay 25% of health care bills. The plan does not include vision or dental for part-time so was looking into few different insurance companies. Have a question on a quote that talks about deductible. It is a $10,000 deductible the wording makes it sound that additional coverage will not be covered until paid. It seems strange so possibly misinterpreting it. What does deductible mean from health care insurance?

The others are right on what a deductible is, so i wont beat a dead horse. What i would recommend is not getting to worried about finding a health insurance with dental included. And i say that because its easy to get dental insurance or a dental plan outside of health insurance. You can even get some dental plans as cheap as 6.95 for one person per month. So to sum it up, Yes the others are right on the definition of deductible. But check out a discount dental plan (which usually has vision for free with it) or a dental insurance out side of a health insurance.
