Tooth pain & its not cavities? Can it be the braces?

I have braces and faithfully brush my teeth four times a day (more if Im snacking or feel my teeth irritated). Well lately, my teeth on the bottom left side hurt and one on the top side as well. It seems like anything I eat or drink(hot, cold, non-sweet) hurt my teeth. Even brushing and rinsing hurts. Ive been living on Motrin, Orajel, Ambusol, etc. Went to my dentist today and they found no cavaties and no reason for the pain. It seems like even breathing in causes pain. I havent been to my ortho in a few months and my dentist feels like it might be related to the braces. Anyone with braces have the same problem or pain? I dont have dental insurance anymore so its costing me out of my own poceket to go to these specialists to just get the runaround...

Yes, my upper right tooth started hurting when I had the braces and still hurts even without the braces. I don't know if it's the same pain as yours, mine doesn't hurt when breathing or anything, but touching it or chewing on it makes it hurt (also cold&hot drinks make it hurt). I thought it was about braces...but my orthodontist said it was sensitive and soon the pain would go away. I do not use braces anymore and the pain is still there although not as disturbing as before. I went to the dentist to see if it had cavities...and she told me there was no problem with it. Now, I've learnt how to live with it I think. I try not to chew on it, and it's fine. :)
