can your employer offer medical/dental insurance even if you are not a US citizen?

i have never heard of an employer giving a non citizen employee isurance benefits is this possible ?

Yes, as long as you are eligible to work in this country (that is, you have a green card or a work visa). If you are not eligible to work, then your employer can't offer you any employment benefits, including employment itself.
