i have dental insurance with metlife...???

my year limit is 1500.00 ...but i need two root canels and have many cavities will my insurance cover the cost....i went to dentist and they r charging me 1900.00 for all the procedures?? i dont understant why if i have insurance?? can u advise me?

Ask them to request a pre-treatment estimate from MetLife. Then you'll know approximately how much you'll have to pay out-of-pocket. Just because your annual maximum is $1500 doesn't mean that MetLife will pay the first $1500... their payments are based on 'usual and customary' fees and will only pay a percentage on certain procedures...
