my impacted wisdom tooth has my gums swollen what can I do to stop the swelling and pain?

I have dental insurance but can't afford the co-payment..my gums are really sore now

Common sense says hurry to a good dentist and get them pulled. They can become very infected and cause abscesses. That's bad. I had one once. Do it now.
