orthodontic services insurance.?

my dad's company that he works at provides insurance for like medical care and stuff my sis is thinking of getting bracesfor misplaced teeth and we're not sure if its covered or not so we checked the package they gave us about what's covered and whats not and it says orthodontic services: - all necessary dental treatement which as its objective the correction of maloccusion of the teeth so i was wondering what that means cus i have no clue. any help?

What the insurance plan says is that the procedure is covered if your orthodontist states your sister has misalignment(s). If she wants to get it done for purely cosmetic purposes and she really doesn't need them to "fix" anything for medical purposes, the insurance would likely not cover it. Also, the orthodontic treatment may only be partially covered. You'd have to check with the ortho office after an initial consultation. They're likely to call up your dad's insurance company and check how much they can get from there. Best of luck to ya!
