does medicaid cover tooth extractions?

i need to get two wisdom teeth taken out and two teeth on my top row so i can braces but we don't have dental insurance. i know medicaid doesn't cover braces

Not really sure where you're from, but in most states Medicaid does cover braces as long as they are placed prior to your 21st birthday (believe me, I work in an orthodontic office and do the billing every month). The problem is finding an orthodontist (and it must be an orthodontist, not a general dentist) that participates in the medicaid program. Same thing goes for a dentist or an oral surgeon for the extractions. And FYI, for the most part, wisdom teeth have no bearing in orthodontic work. Unless it's something really crazy going on in there. Doesn't matter if they're in or not. But if you're missing lower wisdom teeth and you have your upper wisdom teeth, they should come out in that situation. Good luck!
