I am getting my wisdom teeth removed. My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon accepts my dental insurance but not my medical. Why do I need medical insurance approval?

You don't need health insurance approval if they don't PAY anything. Generally, wisdom teeth removal with an oral surgeon, is dental, not health. Who's telling you you need medical approval? Ask them WHY.
