What if you dont have insurance to see a dentist and your teeth are loose?

I was diagnosed with perio when I was 19. I was told that it is hereditary. I had the surgery then and I will admit...I didnt floss much. I am now 27 and my teeth are loose. I am scared to lose them. What can I do..I dont have dental isurance and dont know what else to do. Is it really hereditary? I have two children and dont want them to get it

Care Credit can finance your procedures at 0% interest for 12 to 18 months. I'd go see a periodontist right away! United health insurance has a dental insurance plan the covers dental but im not sure how much dental is covers, so you may want to call and check on it. (no waiting period either). Yes, in some rare cases, periodontal disease is hereditary, and if you were diagnosed at the early age of 19, then you more than likely got it from your genes. Be sure to take your children to the dentist regularly and be on top of them when it comes to brushing and flossing daily to help prevent them from getting it or if they end up getting it, with good oral hygiene habits they can prevent bone loss and tooth loss by keeping things as clean as possible. (Plaque is what causes perio disease so keeping your mouth as clean as possible helps prevent permanent destruction). There is no cure for perio disease. Good luck!
