my family is somewhat poor and we can not afford dental insurance so the government pays for one visit a year to the dentist (canadian government for ya) however they wont pay for braces because i dont really need them and they would only be used to close the gap. so what im asking is if there are any alternatives to closing it .... also what are you personal opinions on gaps?

Just be the way you are. I'm sure you'll still look pretty with it when you smile! And besides, only a doctor can fill it or 'make it better' and since you can't afford it well there's nothing els to do. Good Luck!
