Can I file major dental work as a tax deduction?

I just had a bridge put in, and didn't have insurance, so I had to pay 100% out of pocket.. is there any deduction available on my taxes for doing this? It'd be great to get some of that money back if it's possible.

Medical and dental expenses are available as itemized deduction. You can deduct only the amount of your medical and dental expenses that is more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (Form 1040, line 38). Read about medical expense deduction: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/05/item…
