I really need an answer. My jaw locks up or pop sometimes while I eat. Has been happening more often. What causes the jaw to lockup or pop? I just want to know a little about before spending a lot money for an appointment...no insurance....

I am taking a wild quess that maybe it is just tension. My jaw popped a few times years ago. Maybe try a new pillow for sleep or do some neck and shoulder rolls to relax yourself. If it keeps up, check out google or some tother site for more info. good luck, those dentists cost a small fortune.
