Are Medical Payments tax deductible?

I'm wondering if Co-pays for medical and dental insurance are Tax Deductible? What if I never deducted a $1000 dental procedure from 2007. Can i do it for 2008?

You can only deduct expenses in the year that they occur. Sorry. You can only deduct medical expenses if (1) you itemize deductions, and (2) they exceed 7.5 percent of your AGI. For most people, this doesn't happen.
