Which would be considered the primary insurance company?

I asked a question earlier about dental insurance, but I forgot to add part 2. :) If I signed up right now with a Humana HMO dental plan, then in November I also enrolled in my husband's United Healthcare dental PPO plan, which one would be considered the primary insurance company?

whichever you want.. you pick when you write them down on the form at the dental office. if it were my, i would pick the 1 with better coverage first, and the other as second. either way, the office will contact both insurance companies (or you if it's on you) to get your coverage.

Dental Implants covered by insurance at all?

Does anybody have specific information on how to get dental implants covered (at all) by insurance? Specifically, I am in New York state if this matters & I am completely burnt out on trying to find a way for this to work. Any hope or insights based on experience??? Thank you so much!!!!!

I am covered under separate dental policies. Will the second pick up billing thats not covered by the first?

I know you can do it with medical insurance but I've been told that dental insurance won't allow you to use separate policies on the same claim.

Where am I more likely to get professional, quality care-at a dental school or a local government clinic?

I have no dental insurance, I don't qualify for medicaid, I have limited funds, I live in N.Y. and I need extensive dental work. Where do I have a better chance of getting quality, professional care? A dental school or a neighborhood clinic? Are there any other alternatives?

in your case, I'd say a dental school, depends on who does it and if they mess up, you have some recourse . might be less at a dental school for sure. they might do it for nothing if it's a great teaching case. talk to both, see what ea would do, choose your option or ask questions if one said something different, etc...

Does anyone know of a dentist in Atlanta metro who offers insurance rates for non-insured?

My parents used a dentist in Birmingham that gives individuals without dental insurance the "Blue Cross rate". It is the rate the insurance companies pay him. I am looking for such a dentist in the Atlanta metro (preferably West side). Thanks!

Not automatically! But you sure can call a few dentists, and pre-negotiate a rate for a service, just like the insurance companies do.

Where can I get great dental/orthodontics coverage if I'm self employed and in need of extensive dental work?

I need extensive dental/ ortho-surgery and braces ( thanks parents ) I'm currently a self employed designer and not only is shopping for dental insurance complicated it also seems they are virtually useless, what is the most cost effective solution for me? Any suggestions? Much appreciated.
