How much is a dental implant? (in the US)?
I've been missing one of my molars for several years and am considering an implant. I was wondering how much they cost. I don't think my insurance will cover the implant but will cover the crown so how much do they each cost?

How much would it cost to fix a chipped tooth?
My front tooth has always looked like its chipped even though its not, but how much would it cost to make it look right? I don't have insurance and so I am also wondering if I would be charged for a consultaion with the dentist and for how much. Also would be cheaper to go to a place like western dental or a small dentist place? Thanks.

any dentist can do this all they will do is shave the chip a little and bond on some tooth colored composite and smoothen it out it will look very natural.im a dental assistant we do this all the time and my front tooth is chipped and it was fixed 8 years ago and still going never changed colors or anything...it shouldnt cost no more than 200 and if they charge you for a consultation it shouldnt be no more than 50-100 dollars and that money should get applied to what ever you have done so if you pay 100 for the consultation and the filling is 200 you should only owe another 100...i say go for it..it makes a complete difference

What's the process to repair a hole in my Maxillary sinus bone and what's an idea of what it will cost?
Do they have to do some kind of skin graft? While extracting some upper teeth my dental surgeon made a large hole there. Now sinus infection is constantly leaking straight into my mouth. I don't have insurance.

The gum tissue is usually pulled over the hole opening into the sinus 9 the oral-antral fistula) and you will be given antibiotics and special instructions to follow. This is considered oral surgery and if you have medical insurance, it will be covered. Ask the oral surgeon agout costs and possible insurance coverage. Good luck.

When do kids need to start going to the dentist?
I have an 18 month old and I'm starting to fill out my insurance for next year and I needed to know if I needed to add him to my dental. When did you start taking your kids to dentist? Thanks.

The dentist I went to said 2, but we moved and I asked 2 different dental offices and they both told me to bring my daughter in when she's 3. They said by 3 she'll have all her teeth in. Which makes more sense to me because my daughter will be 3 in December and is just now getting her last top set of 2 year molars in. So I'll take her in when she turns 3.

Are braces appropriate at age 51?
I had 2 lower teeth extracted when I was 14. My parents did not take me back for more dental work. One tooth was on the left and the other on the right. When I was 28 I had a bridge placed on the lower left but not on the right. Now all my bottom teeth have shifted and the spot of the missing tooth touching the teeth beside each. I went to the dentist for my 6 month checkup and they referred me to an orthodontist. Am I to old for wishful thinking that my teeth can look better? My self esteem is so low because of my teeth. Also, I have a fairly good dental insurance 1250 a year, but not sure if they will cover this. any suggestions?

You go to the hospital, your doctor says you need this procedure. You have a co-pay for the visit(this you pay out of pocket) The insurance company says thats not covered or we will only pay X amount. They have nurses and doctors on staff to argue with your doctor etc about the necessity of the procedure. Doctors and hospitals raise the rates they charge to cover the costs of all the time spent arguing with the insurance company. Normally you have to pay up to the limit of your deductible say it costs $5000.00 and you have a $1500.00 deductible you pay $1500.00 and the insurance co pays the remaining $3500.00. Sometimes this is a yearly deductible so the next procedure (in a given year) will not cost you out of pocket. However(a big however) You insurance probably has limits as to how much they will pay for the procedure. They may say that they will only pay $2000.00 for this procedure. You pay your $1500.00 deductible Insurance pays $500.00 and then the doctor sends you a bill for $3000.00
